CoD WaW: Old Dog New Tricks or New Tricks Old Dog?

Advantages: Famaliar and fun gameplay with nice visuals and audio to boot
Disadvantages: Doesn't bring too much new stuff and the people look like plastic

...Review! This time I'm reviewing Call of Duty World at War for the Xbox 360. If there's anything you think I've missed out of this review then please let me know in the form of a comment! Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy. ~~~~~~~~ Foreword ~~~~~~~~ Please be aware, I never rate a game 10/10 - simply because that would mean the game would be perfect, when there is no such thing as the perfect game. Call of Duty World At War. I'm actually not ...
...the exact same engine as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. So how can it score any differently? Well, it does! But It's like racing two identical horses but with different jockeys. The race will be tight! ~~~~~~~~ GRAPHICS ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ 8.0 out of 10 ~~~~~~~~~~ I always start with the Graphics, as you should always start with first impressions. Weirdly, I don't think the graphics are as good as Call of Duty 4. The scenery, do not get me wrong, ...

COD5 - World at War - Is that a gun in your pocket or...oh it is.

Advantages: Very additictive multiplayer shoot-fest
Disadvantages: Servers need sorting out as too many game crashes.

I can hear the enemy approaching, they are close. A tiny bead of sweat begins to trickle down my temple and in the back of mind, I hope that gravity takes it away from my eye. I can't afford to be distracted, not now, not when I have come this far. "Wait!!" was that movement in the bushes ahead or just leaves falling from the trees? I am already frozen in place but now even my eyes turn to stone and I hold my breath. I see the muzzle of a gun poking ...

I begin to squeeze the trigger and then.... ....the wife walks her big butt right in front of the TV and I get peppered from five different directions as my shot goes harmlessly wide whilst revealing my position to every damn player on the map. Call of Duty 5: World at War

Advantages: Brilliant Graphics, great War battles!
Disadvantages: Handling of character

...may vary This is Call of Duty: World at War, five series edition of World war, and there are more battles, more explosions, and even bigger war. After the colossal success of Call of Duty 4, it does feel like a retrograde step, jumping back in time. Everyone knows Nazis are the best enemies you can fight, there are just so many of them to fight. It's always satisfying nailing the them, but to give things a bit of flavour this time around half the ...
...emotionally resonant campaigns that made Call of Duty 4 one of the best single-player games of the last year. I loved Modern Warfare. Despite the incredible linearity that I so despised in other games like this, it kept the action moving apace and really drew you in with some incredible set-pieces and interactive cut-scenes. The world at War campaign tries to emulate this from the start with you about to be executed as a Japanese Prisoner of War, ...

Disadvantages: No split screen Online Multiplayer, over Xbox Live

The fifth in the Call of duty series now and were back in WW2, this time instead of fighting on the beaches of Normandy, and pushing through enemy occupied France, your fighting on the beaches of Peleliu in the Pacific, and alongside the Russians fighting in Eastern Europe in the push to Berlin. Just another world war 2 FPS? I think not!

Advantages: Awesome graphics and sound, cool gameplay modes, zombies!
Disadvantages: lacks development from COD4, multiple glitches and mutiplayer issues.

Call Of Duty - World At War - XBOX 360 ----- First Impressions ------- The opening sequence of the game is impressive to say the least with old clips of world war 2 combined with footage of the game. It really gets you immersed into the role and gets you hyped up to play the game. You are then presented with your main menu with several options of gameplay including single player or co-op campaign, and the infamous multiplayer experience. ----- ...

Disadvantages: World War 2- yawn?

...award-winning, "the-best-game-ever" experience that was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare many people were wondering what in the hell Activision were playing at when they decided to hand over the Call of Duty series back to Treyarch for development, who swiftly decided game ought to be taken back 60 years or so to the World War II era once again. This, to be brutally honest, caused absolute outrage amongst some of the more serious fans, which resulted ...

A world at war

Advantages: Great single player campaign, nice graphics, decent online experience
Disadvantages: Historically innacurate at times, animation a bit clunky, addition of vehicles

The Call of Duty series has exploded into a hugely popular game and this installment in the series came under huge expectation and scrutiny. Due to this expectation I think it disappoints slightly. The expecation of course was not unfounded, 'Call of Duty 4' is arguably one of the greatest games ever made however it is important to note that the people who made this game are different to the people who made 'Call of Duty 4'. This game has an excellent ...
...not a bad idea, as Call of Duty 4 got online play arguably nearly spot on but it lacks a bit of originality and sometimes doesn't work in the World War 2 setting. The 'perks' you can choose are cluttered with perks nobody really uses and some of them are just ridiculous sometimes, such as leaving a live grenade behind if you die. This is an example of borrowing from 'Call of Duty 4' and personally this sort of perk, for the sake of realism and general ...

Hitler again!

Advantages: Fun, online, new Nazi Zombies
Disadvantages: World War Two again

==Call of Duty World at War Review== I got this title about 3 months ago and have played it quite a lot in that as it is a good game and played for roughly 1 and a half days! The game is great but not fantastic. The main problem is with this game is that there are hundreds of World War Two games and people want something different apart from Nazis and Hitler. They should make games based on other wars like modern ones and even World War One. I do ...
...online as I don't really like the story mode that much. The game online is really good and a massive number of people play the game all the time. There are normally thousands of people online so you will not have to search for long to play online! I normally have about 1/3 of the people on my friends list playing this game whenever I am online which is a massive amount considering how many games there are! The maps are quite good and have elements ...

...throwing about, CoD WaW = Call of Duty: World at War... but you knew that :P) The gameplay is truelly fantastic. MW (Modern Warfare) had some impressive gameplay, with you chasing Zakaev's son through those crazy streets full of people, but Treyarch brings it down to the nitty gritty - in the depths of the trenches, in the fields and in the harsh zone between the Russians and the Germans. You get some intense gaming (especially on Veteran, which ...

This game tops ALL of those other World War 2 Games!

Advantages: online is fun campaign is amazing co operative ranking chat rankable guns etc
Disadvantages: none

...Im here to talk about Call of Duty 5 World At War... And why I think it is possibly the best World War II game to date, even beating the Medal of Honor Series! (And believe me, thats HARD TO DO!) I love Call of Duty 5, I think its an amazing game, with an unbelievable realism to detail, the single player campaign really sets all those other games appart from one another... World at War Great Game Of The Year!!

Advantages: * Gritty, exciting story * Same excellent multiplayer system
Disadvantages: * Familiar setting * Familiar game mechanics

Call of Duty: World at War has arrived just over one year from its earlier game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as released, Modern Warfare met with outstanding critical playing and World at War is likey to receive similar attention because it is very similar, in one sence this is a good thing, World at War reserves a lot of element that made Modern Warfare great, to weapons, mature fast pase action and deep engaging multiplayer system. In another sense ...
...the new WWII error campaign is emotional and exiting, there's no getting away from the fact this is formilure territory for anyone who's played first person shooters before, another of a few noble weapons, the flame thrower, and the bayenette. Most of the other weapons (been there done that) feel, while World at War is refined and well crafted, it laks that fresh and unique feel that makes Modern Warfare so special, but don't get me wrong, just because ...

Call of Duty World at War Review

Advantages: Great graphics, story mode and online all you want really
Disadvantages: None that stand out

The latest installment in the call of duty series sees developers Treyarch back in the console world with the release of Call of Duty World at War the fifth game in the series. Treyarch, previous developers for Call of Duty 3 have decided to take the franchise back to the era of World War II contradictory to the extremely successful Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. The decision to take a step back in time may provide mixed reviews from gamers however ...
...could this be the best call of duty yet? The thing that sets call of duty apart from other games is its remarkable mix of immersive single player mode alongside its brilliantly fun online multiplayer modes which not many games tend to have both of. The World at War campaign will see gamers indulge in the harsh warfare of two story lines from allied forces Russia and America. Russia will see the user battle on the eastern front lines from Stallingrad ...

Is it time, Treyarch let go?

Advantages: graphics, gameplay
Disadvantages: not modern

...relase of the bamboozling Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare, People had high expectations for Treyarch to follow in the footsteps, and come to the future of war, but many disappointed before the game was even brought out; they had stayed old school. The story, set in the Vietnam war, opens with a bang, and with the first level being an all out shoot-em ...

Although you are not matched with those of similar abilty to you, it certainly makes the game much more interesting, and allows you to quickly ...

Call Of Duty: World At War - Breath Taking Action

Advantages: Built on CoD4 engine, excellent multiplayer functions, thrilling solo campaign
Disadvantages: None

Call of Duty: World at War, the fifth installment of the series, takes players back to World War II where they get a chance to relive some of the experiences of the Pacific Theatre and Eastern Front battle zones. COD 5, COD 4 in the past

Advantages: Good online, reasonable campaign
Disadvantages: Veteran is too hard, same as COD 4 but in WW2

Online COD 4 was incredible and the gameplay in the campaign was really relatable as it was modern obviously. I was sceptical of COD5 due to Treyarch going back to World War 2. However as per usual my brother got a game that i didn't want so I gave it a try. I played the campaign immediately on veteran. The campaign storyline is playable. However playing it on veteran is just ridiculous. It is not an enjoyable experience as you can't actually do ...
...on easier difficulties it is fun and playable and the addition of collectables makes the game have an improved longevity over COD4. Online the same really applies, old fashioned WW2 guns are there although it takes the perk system and also the streak system (UAV, Air Strike, Helicopter) from it but with an old fashioned twist (Recon Plane, artillery, dogs) which all blends in well to the WW2 system. The gamemodes are also taken from COD 4 and carry ...
