Would You Go on a Nickel & Dime Date???☺

Advantages: Quite Cheap for a Cambridge Set, Satisfactory Sound, Good build quality, Quite easy to use.
Disadvantages: Bass is not so Moisturized, Aesthetically Bland

Very Worthwhile Upgrade

Advantages: Surround Sound, Size, Sound Quality
Disadvantages: Distortion at high levels

I used to have some very basic speakers, the ones which came with the computer, so not very good quality, as im sure you can imagine! I had been looking for something worth upgrading to for a few months, but there just didnt seem to be anything in my price bracket. Then i found these, and whoa! Features When you see "four point surround sound" written on the box, thats what you expect to have - not strictly true. The only way in which you will ...

The program or game you are using must support it (EAX is the "Creative Labs" technology which does this). If you have both of the above then you are fine, you will have surround sound, if however you dont, you may be thinking "well whats the point in upgrading to these if i dont have a surround sound capable ...

Great sound

Advantages: Excellent sound quality, great value, thumping bass
Disadvantages: May randomly tune into radio stations, albeit very quietly

Unless you've used your PC with a decent pair of speakers you won't know what you're missing; but when you do know what you're missing you'll NEVER want to even think about going back. We've all used the cheap "tinny" £10 speakers thinking they'll do, but they souldn't! It's a crime against your ears. The box comprises 4 satellite speakers for true surround sound and a subwoofer speaker for pounding bass. the satellites are very deceptive in that ...
...could do much, however, the volume can be turned right up or right down and the sound does not become distorted or crackly. At first, the number of wires is very daunting, but thankfuly the instruction manual is excellent and guides you through the installation, which isn't nearly as difficult as it looks. Once installed, operation is very simple, there's a knob on the back of the subwoofer to control the bass level, so you can have thumping beatz, ...

Top sound system for the money

Advantages: Excellent sound - Great price
Disadvantages: Tripods are a bit flimsy

The FPS1000 speaker system isn't the best setup in the world, it has to be said, but with the correct sound card, I own a Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Player, the sound at even a quarter of the possible volume is plenty for everyday use. Crank the volume up for those dance tracks you've just downloaded and you get the impact of a full-blown stereo system. Friday nights allow you to annoy the neigbours when you take the decibels up to the max. ...
...The four speakers are small in comparison to complete stereo or surround sound systems but they pack a hidden punch, this combined with the excellent sub-bass woffer which is placed centrally all give this sound system unstoppable, ear pounding volume. It is all very simple to set up and the only down side is that the cables are a little obtrusive, but you would get that with any sound system. One of the main advantages in every day use is the ...

Cambridge Soundworks - Make the walls shake

Advantages: Great sound low price
Disadvantages: Lots of cables in the way sometimes

The Cambridge Soundworks Speakers are some of the best speakers for the price on the market. I bought these speakers 6 months ago after owning just a simple 2-speaker setup and the difference was amazing. I only paid £40.00 for the whole setup that includes: 4 speakers 1 bass box Speaker Cables Power Supply The speakers are so small that you would expect the sound to be standard at best, but once you hook them up and setup the bass box the ...
...and the booklet it comes with will have even the first time computer users listening to high quality sound in no time. This kit includes 4 speakers that are placed in 4 separate places around your desk. Once plugged in it gives you the feeling of surround sound. Game players in particular will notice some stunning improvements. Ideal for Soundblaster Live! cards and the like. Just playing MP3s is enough to make your walls and desk "thump" because ...

Unbelieveable power

Advantages: LOUD, great quality sound, Size doesn't matter,
Disadvantages: not Digital

When I bought this speaker setup, I was laughed at for having the smallest set of surround speakers in history, and was told that they were not loud by many people and asked do you strap them to your head :-) . Oh how they were proved wrong. After installation and connection to the SB Live card I launched windows media player and opened a CD only to be met by the sweetest bass I have heard from a PC speaker system and the crispest hi-tones known ...

Great Sound Quality

Advantages: Great sound quality, low price
Disadvantages: dont look all that good

This set of speakers are of superb quality for the price they cost. They cost around £60. If you have 'normal' speakers on your PC (the 2 that normally come with yuor PC!) you'll be amazed with these speakers. In the pack you get 4 tiny, cube shaped speakers and one bass unit. You can put the bass unit wherever you like, as you can with the 4 satilitte speakers. The back of the bass speaker will look like a jungle by the time you've finished wiring ...

There is an individual volume control (which is a bit clunky and unsightly) which you can also position where you want. the bass unit can go wherever, on the back you have access to the bass level and also the on off switch (but they will automatically turn themselves off with inactivity). all in all, very good sound. Lots of bass and good treble so it will enhance your PC Sound experience no end! ...

Quality sound makes a difference

Advantages: very reasonbly priced, great sound
Disadvantages: Muffles some high sounds occasionally

Since I could not really afford to go for the Digital Theatre Option, I opted for the Fps(Four Point Surround)1000. These are simple analog surround sound speakers but do the job very well. They are bundled with the sound Blaster Live cards in some packages which is where I purchased mine from. The music Quality is substancially better now with the Sub woofer and four speakers, allthough the speaker dont seem to like a very very high pitch sound ...
...problems with the power, they pump out enough volume to run a disco off, and enough Bass to rattle the house. Bass out

Advantages: Clear, loud sound from 4 very small speakers and one stunningly thumpy subwoofer.
Disadvantages: The stands for the speakers are ugly and large, requires an advanced 4D sound card for optimum output

The highlight of these great speakers has got to be the Subwoofer. Put it on the ground, turn it up and feel the floor shake! The individual speakers are well balanced but tend to fizz and crackle a bit as you turn them up to the very higher volumes. You'll be amazed at the level of sound these tiny baby's will put out under maximum output!! Because they are so small, and, if well positioned, they make the sound seem as though its coming from nowhere. ...
...require some space to have them at maximum value. Unfortunately, most people dont tend to have their PC's in the centre of large room with plenty of space either side. I have been using these babies since just after they were brought out and have never failed to be impressed by their clear and very loud glory. You also get the benefit of a small little volume control that can be fitted anywhere, although it is incredibly handy to stick on the side ...

Absolutely GREAT

Advantages: great sound, basses, quality... everything really
Disadvantages: honestly none at all

I bought this "system" so many years ago and it's still kicking butts. I absolutely LOVE the sound quality (and how loud it can get). It's great for playing action videogames and, honestly, irreplaceable for listening to music. The surround is great, the basses fantastic for annoying neighbours 3 floors above you, the sound quality is so good that I prefer it to my stereo. The sound control is very sensitive and it gets loud imediately (which I consider ...
...subwoofer could have had a headphones plug and it would have been perfect. The design is not superb but the thing does its job, and it does it very VERY good. My only annoyance is the fact that I cannot place the sub anywhere but on my desk, if I put it on the floor all the dust would attach to the front panel (which is made of some kind of texile). Still it offers a good place where to put your glasses or a pile of CDs. I shall vote this sound system ...

A taste of stereo heaven

Advantages: Great Sound
Disadvantages: none

I remember the days of internal speakers that could barely manage a beep or if pushed robotic voices. PC Sound has come a long way since then. If, like me, you spend a lot of time on the computer, then you will probably spend a lot of time listening to music on it too. I got the 4-point surround sound included in the computer package, but having used it, I would gladly have paid another £50 for it. The sound quality is great considering the size ...
...can hear that guy sneaking up behind you and whip around. It also makes watching DVDs all the more enjoyable as you get an almost-cinema soundscape. The only fiddly bit is having to connect all the speakers to the subwoofer and then to the soundcard, but once you're used to it it only takes about 3 minutes. Overall I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is stuck with two tinny speakers ...
