I thoroughly enjoyed reading Can You Keep A Secret ? The story line was so different and well thought out. I liked the characters ; my favourite was Emma because her honesty got her into so much trouble at times , and I liked her funny narrating throughout the book. My least favourite character was Kerry because she was so bitchy towards Emma , and therefore because I liked Emma , I didn't like Kerry. The ...

...Shopaholic and Baby. Can You Keep A Secret
Firstly, the cover of the book looks very girly. It is a lilac colour with the name of the author and the title of the book written across the front. There is a picture on the front of the book which is a cartoon character (female) who is stood with her back to the audience. She is stood within a purple snow globe which is surrounded by silver stars.

...But deep down we can identify with her because she does worry about her friends and upsetting the people she’s close to. Emma’s thorn in her side is Kerry, her cousin who was brought up with her when her parents died. Emma feels that she always has something to live up to with her cousin, who has her own travel agency. Around Kerry, Emma is made to feel inferior by her parents. One example of this is when it’s Emma’s mum’s birthday. Emma buys what ... ...by Kerry, who’s spent more money. Emma then feels her own present is useless when her mother gushes over Kerry’s gift. Thus you feel that Emma spends all her time trying to get things right at work, so that her parents will be proud of her. I don’t even know if I’ve got a G-spot”. ... ...About how she feels about her family, her colleagues, her body and her boyfriend.
The flight lands safely and Emma forgets about the incident. That is until she runs into the handsome stranger at her workplace. It turns out that the handsome stranger is the uberboss/founder of the company. And he has an excellent memory when it comes to her secrets!

Advantages: Great characters, entertaining read Disadvantages: None
After speeding through the past two Sophie Kinsella books I had the last one on the book shelf to make my way through.
Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors she always seems to write in a way that I find really entertaining and has me hooked like a gripping drama.

...book, and from what I can see has nothing pre-decimalisation, so I had to wait a few weeks before I could get my hands on a copy. As it turned out, my other half, Mel (Miss_BooBooKitty, go and give her a read) was kind enough to buy it for me one day in our local Ottakers. With a cover price of £6.99, and a £2 off sticker slapped on the front, this wasn’t a bad price at just under a fiver.

Advantages: Romantic, amusing at times, warmed to main character Disadvantages: Slightly predicatable at times
Everyone has their little secrets – secrets that NO ONE should EVER know; and Emma Corrigan is no exception:
She’s really a size 12, not a size 8 like her boyfriend Connor thinks.
The G-string that he bought her is so tight it’s hurting her
She once had a lesbian dream about her best mate (and flat mate) Lissy
She feeds her annoying colleague’s plant orange juice
She secretly replaced her mum & dad’s ... ...when they were on holiday
…the list goes on, but you get the idea! Emma is the central character of the book, and I warmed to her immediately as she is a normal, slightly insecure female who seems quite likeable – generally professional and businesslike on the exterior but with quite a few minor worries in her mind.
The second chapter delves straight into the story, putting Emma on a return plane journey from Scotland where she ballsed up her big ...

Kerry - Emma's 'perfect' cousin. Her mother dies when she was young and so lived with Emma and her parents. She is possibly the most annoying character of the bunch and i would hate to think (but am sure) there are people that are really like this. Kerry has her own travel agency and is a bit of an air head, while Emma is always left in the background. How long ... ...And will Emma ever feel like she has a proper family again?
Of course, these are the main characters within the story that give it its charm. There are plenty others that really make the story so enjoyable! The book is an easy read, if a tad unrealistic, and like all of Kinsella's other books are best for those long train journeys home or for relaxing on the sofa with slippers and a hot chocolate!
It is definitely worth a read and compared to the ...

What would you do if you were on a plane (and you hate flying) and it hits severe turbulence, not just a little bit bumpy but where the air hostesses are being knocked off their feet and bleeding as the hit their head and the plane is plummeting? Emma's Parents were always much more prouder of 'Kerry', Emma's cousin who they kind of adopted after Kerry's mother had died - it was said to Emma that she had to be extra nicer to her new sister as she had gone through her loss. But as time grew through the years, Emma's nose was getting more and more 'push out' by her parents and no-one could do no better that 'Kerry'! This story begins where Emma had been sent ...

Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella
The Story:
Emma Corrigan has many little secrets, just as every girl does, we are not talking huge life changing secrets, Emma is an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. She lives with two girlfriends, works in an office and desperately wants a promotion and is going out with a boyfriend she's not sure she wants to be with.
