Advantages: Cheap, simple to use, generally nice to work with Disadvantages: Expensive cartridges, poor output, poor paper handling
The Canon BJC 250 bubble jet printer is a small lightweight printer suitable for printing simple documents for the home or office. When I bought this printer is was about £90 and has proved ideal for all my essays for school and college. The printer cartridges typically cost from about £17 to £25 depending on what cartridge you buy and the retailer. You can buy 4 different cartridges, dedicated black, colour, photo colour and fluorescent colours. ... ...have it sitting on my mini tower computer and I still have space to put my pens ;-). In operation the printer is fairly quiet and does not rock the desk like others. The output quality of the printer isn't as good as more expensive printers like Hewlett Packard or Epson but it's still not too bad. The paper loading is rather poor though. The printer feeds the paper in at an angle so the text isn't being printed in a straight line and other faults ...

Advantages: 'freebie' with computer package Disadvantages: you get what you pay for!
We got this printer as a freebie with a pc package about 4 years ago and although it was free, the cartridges are very expensive when you need to replace them.
Once the pc was set up, installation was very simple using the set up disk provided. But there was no paper (glossy or otherwise) to test it on. I have since searched for driver updates, but as the printer is now quite old, i never bothered to install them although regular updates are available ... ...black and white document prints, although there was a colour cartridge supplied as well. This has long since run out and the cost of replacing it does not justify the expense.
When printing docs, the quality is not as good as it could be although it is passable. The ink tends to run or smudge as it comes out of the tray. There is the facility to print photo quaklity images but this function has never been used as the ink runs even on decentish quality ...

Advantages: Photo realism, widespread ink cartridge range, colour, quite cheap, small Disadvantages: Ink often runs, cartridges are expensive, quality paper required
The BJC-250 specifies in printing photographs in colour, and it does it's job well. It was relatively cheap when i bought it, three years ago, at only £200, and it's still working with all its glory today. The printer itself is quite fast to print, as it takes about 10 seconds to print an A4 text document. The printer can print from envelopes to some materials.
Ther printer is quite easy to use, since the whole printer is automatic and you only ... ...involved.
The cartridges it takes are the BC-02 and BC-05 formats, which are still widely available, though they are very expensive, about £20 for a colour cartridge, £10-£15 for a black.
Faults have occured, such as, when you print a detailed picture with a BJC-250, you often find the ink runs, and the print-out turns out bad. Also, you need to use reasonably good quality paper since often paper gets caught up during a print, and the screwed up ...

Advantages: Good long lasting cartridges, small - requires very little space Disadvantages: Only one cartridges can be installed at a time (black or white)
I bought this printer 8 years ago, a recommandation from the staff in Currys. I never had expected this printer to last such a long time, and still regain its good condition after so many years
.
I had a few problem when I first purchased the printer, such as it kept spitting out papers without me commanding it.
The customer service I recieved from the manufacturer was good.
When it did start working, the picture quality was good for my need ... ...need for space is very minimum for a printer, and all though the cartridges cost between £15 - £30, the cartridges last for a long time. The black cartridges last for 100 page printing and colour cartiridge lasts for 60 pages.
The colour printing is quite slow at times, but the quality of print is good.
After about 5 years of my purchase of the printer, I bought a seperate scanner and was very glad, that the printer was compatible with my cannon ...

Advantages: Small. Can be handy for black printouts with black cartridge. Disadvantages: Slow. Expensive cartridges. Only either colour or black at one time.
...thing, you can't have a black and a colour cartridge in at the same time!....thats bad. the colour vibrancy isnt too special either, photo isnt too bad in all fairness.
There are plenty of good epsons out there for the same price, if so, get one, not a Canon BJC-250. ...
