lightest most portable
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by pedro_2_k

Advantages: small light transportable
Disadvantages: can't really think of any

this scanner is simply the best i've ever come across except in one small way (see later for that) it not only has excellent resolution (1200dpi optical resolution) it is light weighing in at less than 1.5kg (almost exactly 3lbs) it transfers data real fast (11Mbps per device is the maximum for the USB interface it uses compared to 40 shared over all devices for SCSI (which is much bigger and more expensive) it's about a billion fold faster ... Thin is Good
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by h4rp1c

Advantages: great image quality; compact
Disadvantages: slow

...file that will take the Canon an age to complete. I tend to scan pictures at 300dpi and, for most printed work, this is sufficient, The Canon does have the advantage of being very compact. A very small and light scanner, it weighs only 1.5kg and could fit inside a briefcase. I got impressive results from this tiny scanner. The image quality was excellent, with the photo scans rendered clear and bright. The line art also came out clean and ... Read review

Advantages: small size, USB interface, software, speed
Disadvantages: easy to loose it !!

...smart looking silver version the Canon Canonscan FB630U represents the sort of value home office workers have been dreaming of. This scanner produces sharp quality scans at a reasonable speed while being compact enough to slip into a desk drawer or laptop bag when not in use. Initial set-up took less than ten minutes. The FB630 comes with a simple but effective scanning utility which, once installed, is activated by pushing the button on the front ... Read review

Canon Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by ShaunK

Advantages: Good software, small, slim
Disadvantages: None

...that you notice about the Canon FB630Ui scanner are the striking blue colour of the lid, and the diminutive size. Set up is pretty straightforward provided you know how to install software - the manual is not as helpful as it should be. The scanner itself takes power via the USB port so there's less leads to trail. Scanning a document is reasonably quick, and the one touch button to launch the relevant software is very useful. Supplied software is ... Read review

Quick review of Canon CanoScan FB630U
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by Emptynest

The CanoScan FB 630U is an outstanding scanner if you are running Windows XP or lower. If you are running Windows Vista... dont waste your money on this scanner. Both Microsoft and Canon have told me that my CanoScan FB 630U is not compatible with Windows Vista and there are no plans to make this scanner compatible with Vista. It's a shame that we need to buy all new hardware and periferals when you get a computer with Windows Vista OS on it.

Size is small, but works great
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by chrisnelis

Advantages: Size, speed, quailty
Disadvantages:

Canon Canonscan FB 630U this scanner must be one of the most compact on the market, it is extremely thin and light but the quality and speed is still what you would expect from a canon, Price wise it is quite competitive, Installation is easy, I turned on my PC and plugged the scanner in the USB port windows found the scanner asked for the CD and I restarted once and it was ready to go. The supplied software is excellent, you can choose between standard ... Read review

Photo, Anyone?
Review of Canon CanoScan FB630U by vickyriotgirl

Advantages: Good Quality
Disadvantages: A little on the slow side

This scanner is of a good standard, it is not the best i have ever used but it is one that can produce good pieces of work in a suitable amount of time. It may not be the fastest piece of computer related hardware on the planet, indeed not in a office place, but it is good enough for me. Its not cheap for what you get, but i would say that you are definately getting what you pay for and at a good standard. This product is ideal for home use and ... Read review
