Disadvantages: Not good for zooming in for macro photos

I just love using this camera. It's small enough to take everywhere, so no more 'I wish I had a camera right now' moments. Being at uni means that there are a lot of amazing and fun moments. Catching these moments to remember would be good. For this reason, i decided to buy the IXUS 40 along with a 512MB SD card from the net. ...the shops and found the canon range to fulfill all of these requirements but to be over my budget I then asked about and found out that megapixels do make some difference to the quality of picture, but the lens is just as important - and that 4 megapixels is easily detailed enough to print off A4 sized photos. I bought this camera just before going away on holiday; I wanted my own set of memories of photos. I shopped around and ended up ordering the camera from Amazon as I found it to be the cheapest. The main advantage of this camera is the size. You can carry it around all the time as it easily fits in your pocket. This camera costs more than most 4mp cameras but you must bear in mind that the quality of this camera is far superior to others. The main difference is the quality of the lens and out of all of the 4mp cameras I have seen, this gives the best results. I bought this camera as I wanted something small to take pictures of my children growing up and this camera is perfect. It fits intop my bag very easily (even with the case that I bought in addition to the camera). The quality of the pictures is superb and I really can't find fault with anything. I purchased this camera having done extensive research on which was the 'best buy' and I have not been disappointed. It's small and compact so easy to take out and about when travelling or closer to home. clean, modern small easy to use camera with lcd display 4.0 mega pixel come with all the leads to hook upto the computer and rechargeable batteriess, you can use night vision and make the picture less qualitiy or more, change the size of the pictures so that you can fit more infomation onto the memory it even has a pod attachment on the bottom of the camera and if you have a sd card the larger memory it has the better qualitiy selection. with this ... Disadvantages: flash can still be improved, screen can get scratched easily.

I previously had a canon V2 which was fatastic but resolution was the only downpoint. The canon ixus 40 has all the plus points of of the V2 but with a great resolution. Cameras these days have much higher resolutions, but to be honest your never going to visibly see the difference in quality unless your printing poster size images.
