...have the same or similar canon ixus cameras have found that the screen seems to either chip underneath somehow, and cause small white marks on it, or just roughly scratch all over it, causing it to lose the its 'pristine shine'!
However, this shininess of the screen is also one of the camera's few bad points, as in conditions with a lot of light it becomes very difficult to see the screen. Normally the screen is very good though, and a plenty big ... ...I had previously had a Canon Ixus 55! None the less, the camera was easy to use, and I picked it up without reading much of the instruction manual. A lot of the symbols on the camera a pretty self explanitary, and the menus too. In addition to what I was saying about the battery of the camera, one slight problem with the camera is that there is no battery meter, but just a flahing battery symbol on the screen when the battery life gets very low. ...

...have since upgraded to a Canon 30D which we take on holiday and have taken some wonderful pictures. I give you this background simply so that you understand what I am using my Ixus 60 for. Not for taking artistic landscapes or perfect portraits - I use the big camera for that. I chose a small camera simply for portability.
Why this one? Well as I have said, we already have a Canon SLR and we are very happy with it. I also know quite a few people ... ...get all that from the canon website if you need it, but I will briefly review what I've used of the multitude of options. There are loads of preset circumstance options which I haven't really used - except when bored on a long car journey. The colour accent option which picks out one colour and makes the rest black and white hasn't lived up to much so far in my experiments and I suspect the effect could be much more easily achieved with photoshop ...

I recently purchased the Canon IXUS 60. It is a six megapixel digital camera with a three times optical zoom lens. The camera is a ultra compact digital camera which fits in the pocket very well.
The build quality of this camera is impressive and it is also one of the more expensive cameras compared to others in its category . There are one or two interesting features, but the camera remains very easy to use. This is why it appealed to me, it is ... ...and software are supplied by Canon to connect the IXUS 60 to a computer, television set and a PictBridge compatible printer.
My only problem with the camera was the price £ 129.99, most of the cameras in the same league as this where £30 - £40 pound cheaper but saying that they did not have anywhere near as many features. All said i am not sorry i bought this, i have had a lot of fun snapping away.... ...

...menu. One cool little feature Canon has introduced is Sound Memo, in which you can record a memo for a picture and view it later on camera or computer. You also have the ability to protect images so other people will not be able to view it without Canon Zoombrowser. You can also rotate the image if you've taken it at a weird angle and the auto-rotate feature has put it in a weird position. And finally, the good old Erase All.
In the other sections ... ...you can get from a Canon Digital IXUS 60. For your information, if you manage to get the camera completely mesmerized in water, then the first thing you should do is leave it in a airing cupboard. I tried to work it afterwards and it was hard to press certain buttons, and if it works, you wouldn't get very far. Leave it in the airing cupboard for at least a good few hours, wait for it to fully dry and test. My screen got a little bit damaged around ...

...compact. I bought the Canon IXUS 60 in December '08, and was deeply impressed with the ultra-compact size, build quality and stunning images! Canon have always had a great reputation for accurate colour reproduction and natural tonality, and this little camera fails to disappoint. Please consider that more megapixels does not necessarily equal better image quality, and compact cameras over 6mp introduce noise artifacts due to cramming too many pixels ... ...stumped up the extra to choose this model over the current equivalents, and if you can audition one you will see why this could be the right decision. The IXUS 60 is still one of the ultra-compacts to beat in my opinion, and it's difficult to think that anyone could feel let down by this cute little package. ...

...had been speaking to a canon rep not long before this and had sold dozens of these cameras to customers so i thought it was a good solid camera to buy. I like the camera because of its metal casing, not many cameras have this but instead opt for a plastic casing which tends to warp in heat and crack when dropped. The huge 2.5inch LCD screen on the back is clear and made from a light absorbing material as to not get much of a glare from the sun when ... ...it stays in focus. The canon website says that this camera has a 7point focus system however the canon rep says it is a unique 9 point focus they use so I am unsure of this, however either way it is one of the highest focus systems of digital cameras. Also the lens is glass as opposed to glass coated which means a clearer shot. The 3x optical zoom is standard for that of digital cameras so not much to say there but the camera does benefit from a ...

Excellent Camera, great quality and portability. Takes great pictures easily with its controls easy to navigate. Its battery packs hold's a great charge and only takes about an hour to re-charge. I bought my IXUS 60 in January 2007 (my IXUS V3 finally gave up the goat after 3 years of continuous use). I have always been a fan of the Ixus range and whilst the newer Ixus 800 and 900 models offered more features such as better focusing and face recognition, I rarely had a problem with my old Ixus with focusing so decided that these features were not necessary. I also felt that the 3 million megapixels I previously had was more than enough for ... ...on unnecesary features.
What also makes the IXUS 60 stand out over the newer models is it's metallic body (the newer models I tried had more plastic parts and didn't feel as solid). It feels solid and secure in my hand and although small, is not too small and is easily operated with one hand.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of photos taken so far, both on my computer and printed out. The video feature is also excellent with good sound pickup ...

...it needs a special rechargable Canon battery (there is no battery low indicator so I suggest you buy a spare battery).
Takes a standard SD Card - I got 1gb for a tenner online.

This camera is brilliant. The pictures are just great! Most cameras are good quality, you can pick up a 3 megapixel camera anywhere, but with over 7 megaixels, you cannot go wrong. It is over £100 to buy, but I guarentee you, you will not be dissapointed with your purchase. Easy to use, and kids find it fun to take pictures. Different types of pictures, including black and white, sepia, and more.
