Advantages: high resolution, big LCD, macro option Disadvantages: none so far...
...I stoped at two cameras: Canon IXUS 700 and Casio Exilim EX-Z750. Yes, Casio was thiner, biger LCD screen, but then it had some things that I didn't really liked too much: craddle that didn't hold camera very well (according to some reviews), the flash range was prety short and the pictures where over saturated... But I loved the look and feel of it. And then Canon. It feels really much smaller than it looks in the photos online. And it has some ... ...picture, i.e. make red rose look yellow. Or you can accent one color: just pick one colour, i.e. red and and every other colour will be in black and white. So, in the picture you have everything in black in white, but just one flower is in red. It works really nice!!!!
So, this camera has 7MP and 3 times optical zoom. It is amazing what they can fit is such a small body. I have tried taking it with me whereever I go and the pictures are just fantastic. ...

...my paintings.
I purchased my Canon Digital IXUS 700 about 2 years ago, and have yet to find any faults with it. My photos are always exceptional, indoors and outdoors. It is easy to use and extremely easy to upload the photos on my computer, I just plug in the USB, press 2 buttons on the camera and it's done!
I also find that the camera is very hard-wearing, I don't exactly take excellent care of it, I have lost count how many times I have dropped ...

Advantages: Small, easy to use immediately with multitude of options for advanced users Disadvantages: Moving target pictures difficult, can be expensive
I bought this camera 18 months ago after seeing it highly advertised when visiting a friend in Hong Kong.
The picture quality is superb - producing clear, rich photos upto and over A3 in size with it's 7.1Megapixels. The screen is the usual standard size for a digital camera and there are numerous options for the professional and amateur photographer. These are all in easy to use menus PLUS you can use the camera instantly without the need to set ... ...take the perfect picture. The camera is light in your pocket and is greatfor taking out on nights out as well as daytime view shots.
For night time shots where lights are taking a big part in the photo, I would recommend a tripod as the slightest movement by yourself when taking a photo in this situation will lead to blurring. Tripods are standard for virtually all digital cameras and I purchased a perfectly adequate one for £2 in Shanghai that ...

Advantages: Large screen, speed of use Disadvantages: May be too small to handle comfortably
...marked improvement from my previous Canon A70 (3.2mp). I wasn't sure if the upgrade was justified but now I've seen the results I am very pleased. The large MP rating means large file sizes at the best quality so splashing out on a large SD card is required.
Ease of Use: The screen is very large given the overall size of the camera and is bright and sharp. Functionally the camera is very easy to use and the presets are effective. I'm just a 'happy ... ...meets my needs perfectly.
Look and Feel: Like all in the Ixus range this looks very good, modern and stylish with a nice balance of shiny and matt finishes. Although pretty light it has enough weight and solidity to feel 'quality'. Significantly smaller than my previous camera it really is very portable.
Problems: It doesn't come with a case (do they ever?) and the small size, despite making it very portable, does make it tricky to hold when taking ...

Advantages: High Build Quility. Great Colour. Disadvantages: Large Compared to Sony new line
...buy, you can always trust canon equipment you can feel how well this camera is built, the design is beautiful to with the one subtle curve which to me gives it a bit more originality from the general "square" like digital cameras on the market, Photographs are great with excellent colour reproduction and with 7 million pixels allowing you to print on a4 with out quality loss.
The video mode has improved from older models with recording time being ... ...also switched from the large compact flash memory to using secure digital which is a plus in anyone's book. After using this camera for 3 months now, I have taken a liking to the macro mode, which is incredibly impressive for a camera this small - it even picks up the hairs on a moth! Video is even better than the previous ixus models, with full screen TV video which is good enough for the odd random clip. *It's no camcorder, but a great extra

Advantages: small, high resolution, stylish Disadvantages: no anti shaking function, body get scratches easily
The photo quality is really good. the colour turns up excellent. I am particularly into the AiAF autofocus. It sharpen the photos! However, it would be better if there is manual control as an extra function. there are various mode of shooting, from potraits, beach, snow, indoor, pets/kids, fireworks.. there is also a function called my colours: where the photo can turn out in different colours. The features are excellent and fun. It took me a while ... ...quite user-friendly. One of the advantages of the camera is the camera starts up really fast. therefore, it is rare to miss a nice shot from time to time. However, I realised that it went low battery faster than I would have expected. Further, the macro fucntion of the camera is good. However, I think it could be better if there is a anti shaking function. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, small, easy to carry with you, Disadvantages: none
I bought this camera as my mum had an ixus 500 which I loved. This has more pixels than the ixus 500 a huge 7.1 megapixels and takes a great quality picture! As it is such a high quality picture I had trouble sending them via the internet with out trimming them down until I set up my outlook express and I now send all my pics as thumbnails and they send easily. It is easy to use, I quickly scanned the instruction manual and have not needed to look ... ...you can then download onto your PC.
Focuses well from near or far, for close ups in the dark you need to zoom in from a way back so that your picture is not completely white. This is a small camera which looks good, sleek and stylish and the battery power lasts well. This camera is so easy my 3 year old can take a good picture with it, not always with heads on people though, her fault not the cameras! I recommend this camera to all, it is great ...
