Canon are very well know for there cameras and always produce very good products. This is no exception and comes with lots of features. It is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera which means the pictures that it takes are very, very good quality. Personally I think that 5 megapixels is enough for taking photos but if you are planning on doing a lot of editing and zooming in on certain parts of photos then maybe 6 or 7 megapixels is more what you are after. ... ...you are looking to take photos to edit and want a well know name for a camera then this could be a good option for you. It has a new technology for taking photos of people and can detect and face on the screen and set itself up so you will get the best possible picture, I will go into more detail for this later on. It also has a red eye reduction feature in play-back mode.

I am very bad at upgrading to new technology. I rarely buy something new until the old one is completely dead and buried, and so when my poor old camera finally passed away I wasn't looking forward to getting a new camera - especially considering I had no idea what half the specifications listed next to the camera means! Canon Digital IXUS 70 this is just another great product from the canon camera range.
this is a great camera not just for the sleek small silver finish but it as loads of great features.the part of this canon digital IXUS 70 i like the most is the perfect quality pictures that it takes but what more could you ask for with the 7.1 megapixels and 3x optical zoom.also with the features like face detection and red eye correction this camera take great ... ...get prints up to poster size quality. now that is great for the taking the family photo to go on the wall.also with the 2.5 colour lcd you know what your pictures turn out like straight away.another great feature i like a lot is with the 17 different shooting modes which include special scene modes you can also apply different colour effects to your pictures and videos.now with the video mode i can't really say much about because i don't use that ...

...to date. I had Canon Ixus 55 previously which I unfortunately damaged (I'm slightly on the clumsy side - so get through camera's quite easily). The Canon Ixus 70 is a brilliant replacement, so small - but packed full of the same excellent Canon features that the 55 had. The Ixus was always seen as a fantastic camera even from the days of APS - I get so many good remarks from people.
I love the Black/Silver retro look and think it looks classy in ... ...quality photos, either from my canon printer or professional services. If you're like me, then I use my camera for everything, weddings, walking, holidays - it goes everywhere and the beauty of this camera is that it's so small it's not a chore to use. Without a doubt this is the best camera of all time.
Producing excellent quality photos and only costing around £100, I will never need another digital camera.
It is small enough to take on a night out (in a pocket or handbag), but is robust enough to take a few knocks!
It takes an SD card which are easy and cheap to buy online.
The auto-focus and facial recignition features are very good and the presentation of the photos as you view them on ... ...way round you hold the camera!)
It comes with a rechargable battery and it's charger meaning you don't have to waste money replacing batteries ever other time you need to use it!!
I would highly recommend this camera for anyone who uses a digital camera for entertainment/social purposes/holiday snaps. ...

...We had previously purchased a Canon Powershot SD400 and needed a second camera. We tried to purchase the same one, as we had liked it so much, but they had updated it. This camera was the updated version.
Mine looks a bit different from the picture (I have a total silver front, which looks alot nicer) and my flash is built in not sticking out.
The camera is a great size, easy to keep in your bag, so you are never without a decent camera.
The 7.1 ... ...canon is one of the first cameras I don't ever have problems with blurred pictures, you just point and click.
I would say it is a camera for all types of people as it is so easy to use.
The camera uses a re-chargeable battery pack - the camera comes with the charger. It also comes with a small SD memory card, but this doesn't fit many pictures on. But the memory cards are easy and cheap to buy at lots of different sizes.

I had been struggling to find a camera for a while. There is such a range in prices for what seems to be little or no difference in specification. However, i found this camera to be priced decently especially in online stores, whilst also having the capabilities to match its higher priced competitors.
What is particularly special about this camera is that it has a viewfinder. Although this seems unnecessary to some, try asking an older member of ... ...i have discovered they have huge difficulty using the LCD display, especially if there are also icons on show and nearly always will opt for the viewfinder, because it is simply easier for them to use. The option of a viewfinder also means that when the battery is low, the display can be turned off and you can take more pictures before the battery runs out. I found this camera to be a great little device with excellent picture quality. It is well designed with a 3x optical zoom lense large 2.5" lcd display as well as an optical viewfinder to conserve battery, the body is metal which i have found to be quite robust and the only protrusions being the combined shutter/zoom buttons and the camera strap. Although it is small it is of high quality and comes with loads of features including colour accent/ ... ...(indoor,snow fireworks etc), it also has an automatic face detect function which i have found useful for group photo's as it chooses the best focus settings for the group. It has a video mode with various different quality settings and what i found good was a time lapse function. Something else which i like about this camera is that when using the continous shoot mode even when using the highest quality settings is that it will keep shooting till ...

This camera is all you need if you are an amateur and need a compact camera that give you nice photos to a very nice price.
When you start the camera you get an annoying sound byte but that is somewhat forgotten when you realize that it is a very fast starter. So this is good if you get some elusive moments that you want to capture, because when you shoot a picture it is also very fast on photos of all qualities . The autofocus is fast, though not ... ...You have nifty little face recognition to. The flash is surprisingly good for a camera of this size and I think it illuminates very good, though the zoom is not much to say you get a passable one and on this camera its more than ok for its size
The resulting pictures are very good, though it would have been nice to get pictures in RAW-format. The video mode is good and gives you fair quality video, but don't expect miracles.
