I've never been any good with cameras but have always loved photos of friends and family.
I got this camera a couple of years a go as a present from my mum. the first thing I noticed about this camera was its size, really small and compact which makes it easy to travel and pop into any small bags for special occasions.
I personally could never figure out how to load a film and annoyed friends and family members by getting them to do it for me. ... ...you simply drop it in and with automatic winding and wrapping it couldn't be easier.
With three different picture sizes visible through the viewfinder and automatic flash as well as a clear digital display showing the battery level, whether there is a film in the camera, the date and number of shots taken it is an excellent for even the least camera friendly person.
The adjustable title (from 5 set choices) and easily accessable battery panel are ...

Advantages: Small and Compact Disadvantages: Bit fiddly
...or 40 exposures. However the Canon IXUS L1 has even more hidden treasures in the varying size of picture you can take. There are three types but the biggest advantage is the panoramic print size allowing you to replicate those fantastic views often lost through conventional camera limitations. On the downside if you are a bit of a techno-phobic it can be quite difficult to set the date and time options and some of the buttons would leave Gulliver’s ... ...interesting little implement attached to the camera strap that helps with the functions beautifully.
If you shop around you should be able to pick this camera up for well under £100.00GBP although developing can set you back £7 – 8 GBP and as yet is unavailable on the 1hour print facility. Interestingly if you use one of the main high street retailers they will give you the replacement film within the charge of development. So far I have only bought ...

Advantages: Small, excellent design Disadvantages: No zoom
I purchased this camera in Saudi Arabia when it first came out, and at the time was streets ahead conventional cameras which were often big, black, heavy and hard to operate. This however packed in all the leading technologies at the time and it even comes with a remote, so no more wasted photos especially as APS films cost atleast 7 british pounds to develop. They come in either 24 or 40 exposure and you can have 3 different views. Normal, wide ... ...You could also choose whether to print the time and/or date on the front of the photos or the back. Additionally you could choose from a factory bank of sayings (the usual happy birthday etc) and for them to be printed either on the front or the back also. It's so small and light too, there is a red-eye reduction facility, and the quality of the photos are remarkable. The only downside was a fixed zoom distance, but this was rectified in the following ...

Advantages: size, looks, and easy of use Disadvantages: none found
I bourght this product as a present for a family member. The reason I choose this product was because is represented value for money, as a combined set it comes with casing, batteries, manuel (fairly straight forward) film etc. The price I paid was £99.00 a year ago. Which at the time I thought for a 'new concept' camera, small credit-card size camera was good value.
The camera main feature obviously has to be its size, LCD display, choice of three ...

Advantages: Good lens, great features, small, silver Disadvantages: Developing APS is expensive
I fell in love with this camera as soon as I laid eyes on it. It is so small, so slim, so silver. And the picture quality is superb - I have never had a bad shot in the two years I have owned it, and I have taken a LOT of pictures. The autofocus is brilliant, and the neat little remote control I got with my package is great. It has the best lens in it's class, and it fits into any pocket without being so bulky that it is uncomfortbale to carry it ...

Advantages: Small, lightweight Disadvantages: No zoom
I’ve owned a Canon Ixus L-1 for several years, and have been very happy with the quality of photographs taken with it. The camera is small, lightweight, and comes with a carrying case, so can be easily carried around either attached to a belt, or in a bag or pocket. Photos can be taken in the 3 usual APS formats, including the Panoramic view, useful for taking pictures of landscapes at a distance. It is also possible to print the date and time on ... ...to work automatically, along with red-eye reduction, which works well. The camera has a 26mm lens, but unfortunately no zoom facility, which is the one major drawback.
Films are easy to install, and cheap to buy (packs of 3 available for around £5), and relatively inexpensive to develop (around £5 for a 25 exposure film), though not as cheap as standard 35mm film.
I’ve enjoyed using this camera, and would recommend it. ...

Advantages: Size Disadvantages: Film processing costs
Having lugged a large and heavy SLR camera around on my travels I decided to go for something a bit smaller and took a fancy to the IXUS.
I find it very easy to use and it's size is a big bonus (same size as a packet of cigarettes),you can carry it around in your pocket.
The picture quality could be slightly better considering the cost of the camera and the film processing costs are a little high.
Another disadvantage with this camera is that ...

Advantages: size, easy to use Disadvantages: pictures are expensive to develop, not that many functions
It was my explicit wish to be given this camera for Christmas but I have only been semi content with my present. Fine, it’s a small camera and it is easy to use, but the films are quite expensive to develop. I don’ t understand why that is still so, especially with today’s advanced technology. There is no zoom on the camera, which is a big disadvantage. I was on a safari in Africa with this camera and apart from looking good, it was not much of a ... ...animals are from really far away. And can someone please tell me, how the hell zoom pictures are meant to fit into a photoalbum?!
I can’t really see who would want this camera and I would not wish for it again. It is ideal for those who don’t care about the price and for those who are completely untalented at using technical equipment. ...
