Advantages Advantages Small, light, easy to use, nice features

Disadvantages Disadvantages APS developing is expensive

Before I get to the actually camera in this case, I shall briefly describe the APS (Advanced Photo System) because it is quite different to the “normal” 35mm film that we’re all familiar with. The film itself comes in a self-contained cartridge which enables quick reloading (if necessary). In order to load (or reload) the camera, you simply drop the cartridge into the slot, and close the cover. The APS films come in 3 sizes: 25 frames or 40 frames. The film enables three different size of pictures to be taken (classic, wide-angle or panorama), and no matter what film size you ... more

Advantages Advantages Incredibly easy to use, Great Photos, Speed.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, Flash could be awkward.

I've always loved cameras but they never liked me much. Ever since I can remember I've been fascinated by those little boxes and by the fact that other people can create such beautiful pictures. But for me they were always blurred, dark, askew or just double-exposed. So when my sister bought me this for my 21st Birthday with the assurance that all of the above would change I didn't believe her... How wrong could I have been. For the photographically challenged this is 'the best thing since sliced bread' and for the more technically minded it still has loads to offer. For a start it is smart ... more

Advantages Advantages Light, compact, easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Buttons and veiw finder a bit small.

I've never been particularly interested in cameras usually because I cant use them properly, but when I got one of these as a birthday present I thought well I'll just have to give it a go. For me this is a marvellous little camera and I am sure it has lots to offer even for the expert. It is very light and compact with lots of great functions. The carry-case has a loop so you can attach it to your belt leaving your hands free, which is great for sight-seeing. The handbook is pretty good and explains eveything well. The camera is very easy to use with plenty photo options including standard ... more

Advantages Advantages really easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't have a zoom

I love my canon ixus m1! I got it two and a half years ago for my eighteenth birthday but it is still fashionable to look at and effective in what it does! (The origional lithium battery lasted two years) Its compact design means it can easily fit in my handbag when I go out with my friends on a night out...and the easy loading film means I can replace it safely even when I've had a drink or two! The camera has the usual aps options, the three different size photos available (h,p,c) but it also has it's own little quirks which make it that little bit extra special! You can opt to have various ... more

Advantages Advantages Compact, easy to use, built in lens cover and excellent quality photos.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Feels cheap, shutter release button too stiff.

I bought this for my wife about 4 years ago at the time APS was in its infancy. However, with the digital revolution, and traditional SLR users preferring 35mm film, there seems to be no place for APS. Because of this, we have not used the Canon M-1 for about 2 years now. However, at the time of purchase, APS seemed a great idea. It was fool proof, it allowed compact cameras to get even smaller, after developing the photos the negatives were retained in the film unit and you could select different perspectives for each shot. These were the reasons why I bought my wife this camera. We have ... more

Advantages Advantages Robust, Easy to carry

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possible poor view finder framing

I bought this little camera for its simplicity and size during summer as I was travelling to Vietnam and Cambodia for a month over Christmas. Given its size I expected to have to treat it very carefully with all its intricate parts but infact it is the most robust cameras I have had. It has been bounced around in hand luggage and dropped on several occasions - even in a stream! All the photos came out fine although I would say that the view finder does not frame the pictures exactly so what you see is not exactly what you get. This could just be my photography skills but I have had several ... more

Advantages Advantages tiny, light, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages no zoom, expensive pictures

I got this for my 16th Birthday to replace an old, rather large 35mm camera (i now usually use my digital camera but if I want to take pictures in the pub I slip this in my pocket!) Okay, the spec: Canon Auto Focus 23mm lens DATE/TIME mode and choice of 5 photo CAPTIONS 5 flash modes icluding red eye reduction Very small size Very light weight - only 115g One of the best things about this camera (apart from the obvious size advantages) is the case that comes with it, which is nice and sturdy and has a strap so you won't lose it. The APS films are amazingly easy to load/unload, especially if ... more

    Advantages Advantages Small, sturdy, sleek.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't 'resume' films once taken out

I've had this camera for nearly four years now. It's been all over the world with me, dropped a million times and still continues to take great pictures. It's so small I keep it in my pocket constantly ready to capture anything at any time. It has a timer featue, can print the date and time on the front or back of your photos and a special 'night time' setting to capture more background on night shots (I don't recommend using this unless you have a tripod though as they just turn out blurry). The battery lasts for ages (I'm on my second in four years) and the APS system means you can take up ... more

    Advantages Advantages Small and sexy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

This camera is the epitomy of cool and functional. It looks great, encased in brushed steel and perfectly pocket sized. It has some superb features, such as the ability to select from some pre-written messages to be printed on the photographs, date and time stamping, redeye reduction and many others. It takes great pictures in three different sizes, and the pictures ALWAYS come out looking colour perfect! The camera is easy on the pocket in two ways - it weighs only 115 grams, and costs about £70, which is very good value for money. A must for the casual clubber. ... more

Advantages Advantages small, practical, great pictures

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

It’s as big as a cigarette box and can easily be stored anywhere. It is even easier to use and the durability of the batteries is really good. It has a cool special feature by which you can insert messages such as “Merry Christmas”. Changing the formats and zooming are so easy that every child would be able to use it without any problems. The only difficulties you will encounter will be if you have big hands. It can be quite tricky to press the buttons and the camera is a bit awkward to hold due to its size. Trust me, you will really enjoy the pictures you get. You have to do nothing and they ... more
