...Well, I already own a Canon Ixus AF and am very happy with it but as I often go on holiday to the beach I needed a camera that was not only waterproof but sandproof and indeed throw-about-proof.
So, I duly marched down to Jessops and picked up the Canon IXUS X-1 Compact Camera which they told me, was the smallest waterproof Camera in the world! How priveleged I felt!

Advantages: Pictures from where you have never taken pictures before. Disadvantages: "APS" = Ain't Perfect Sharpness...

Summary:
I think if I were to buy a new camera now I would wait until a digital waterproof version was released. Waterproof cameras are great, and I do not regret buying this one, but I think the limitations of APS compared to digital would make this product a poor choice as soon as a good digital alternative hits the market. ...
