    Advantages Advantages Good build quality, great results and easy to use

    I have been the proud owner of MV550i Digital Camcorder for just over a year and it has proved to be well up to the tasks I expect of it. This was my first camcorder purchase and it was chosen on recommendation of the shop assistant as well as with Canon’s reputation in mind. At the time it came complete with a Firewire card (to connect camera to computer for editing) and editing software Presto! Videoworks.     The Canon MV650i is part of the MV600 range. It's the top model and is packed with loads of features. It's recording methood is Mini DV which produce fantastic quality film. The camera itself is very small and compact and very lightweight. It's silver in colour with light up buttons which you have a choice of colours to pick from to personalise it. The camera has a crystal clear 2.5" LCD screen to view or a moveable viewfinder. The Microphone is based at the front end of the camera and tapes are loaded via the bottom.     I have wanted a Camcorder for about 12 months but I am the sort of person who feels nervous about buying these sort of things on impulse. I did a lot of research reading as many articles as possible, getting the feel of the hardware in my local electrical retailers and making decisions as to what sort of things I wanted to do with the camera and the output I would create. After a lot of thought I decided to go for an up-to-date model using digital technology so that I could edit the movie on my PC and finally output to either DVD or tape.
