Advantages: Inexpensive, Nice design, modern looking, OK for everyday use
Disadvantages: Noisy, takes ages to start up, goes through ink quickly
...had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish.
For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading.

Canon Pixma

Advantages: great looking printouts, very attractive design, quick prints, low prices
Disadvantages: does not include a paper output tray
...nicely onto most PC workstations.
The Canon iP2500 does not include a paper output tray, some users may find this a nuisance as they will need to catch their prints as the printjob finishes to prevent them falling onto the floor/desk.
Connects to the PC via USB interface, is compatible with Windows/Mac.
This printer comes with a Creative CD and a pack of matte paper (quite a few sheets in the pack).

Disappointing and frustrating

Advantages: Not expensive to buy
Disadvantages: Slow to get going, smudges, costly to run
I have had Canon printers before and have been pleased with them but this new printer is a disappointment. I make my own cards using photos, and also print off letters with photos on them. It is not so good even on ordinary paper. It leaves smudges on the trailing or leading edges and doesn't like glossy photo paper at all.
It also gets through ink like no other printer I have ever had and has, in about 4 months, cost me more than twice as much ...
