Advantages Advantages Flexible, Cost Effective, Easy to Use, Great Value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Short on Bells and Whistles

This printer is an ideal printer for someone who wants a reliable & easy to use printer for general office duties but would also like the flexibility to handle the occasional photo print or CD/DVD printing. I’ll justify all of this below but if you are in the market for a sub £90 printer that is mainly used for letter and other general office duties then get this one. At this price you might be able to have a printer each. The main features of this printer are: Great paper handling, by providing two paper trays the printer offers you the flexibility to keep two types of media pre-loaded into ... more

Advantages Advantages Long lasting ink, CD printing, two trays, easy to use software package.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I purchased this printer during the boxing day sales, and it's exceeded all of my expectations. I know that printers are often sold at a loss as the manufacturers think they'll make it back in ink purchases, but this seemed too good to be true! In all honesty, I didn't know an awful lot about what I was buying, it just looked pretty good and was on special offer. It was only when I got this printer home that I realised what a bargain I'd grabbed myself! The printer itself looks very stylish, it has two paper feeders, one being a tray which is very handy for just stacking your plain A4 in. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Superb Print Quality, Exceptional borderless Photos, Fast, Cheap Compatible Ink Cartridges, Well Made, Prints on printable CDs/DVDs too

Disadvantages Disadvantages No parallel connection. Does not make coffee

I bought this printer on spec after reading several glowing reports in the computer press and seeing how good a mates printer was. Having had 4 Epsons bomb out in as many years (just out of warranty of course), I will never touch and Epson again. And their print heads are too susceptable to air bubbles and early failure. Canon have been at the leading edge of product design and innovation for years. And NO I don't work for them. I love their cameras, lenses and now their printers (but not the cheap ones). Sorry to sound prescriptive, but the Canon cheap range printers use tiny cartridges that ... more

Advantages Advantages Ability to print straight onto the surface of a CD

Disadvantages Disadvantages Front door flap for outgoing paper tends to bang down giving you the impression that it may break

I had no idea printers these days had the ability to print as fast as this one does, until there was an IP3000 bought for Christmas. It seriously feels like as soon as you put the paper in, the printer has done its job and spat it out again! Fantastic! I have noticed there is a higher model of this called the IP4000 which can print slightly faster. But if you ask me, an extra £30 purely to save an extra couple of seconds on print isn't worth it. Heres why this printer is an amazing contraption: ^^^^ Features ^^^^ I suppose the most noticable function the IP3000 can perform is printing direct ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast for Most jobs. Prints onto CD

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not many

This is a high quality product form Cannon. It is seriously good. It is the fastest inkjet I have seen for text and composite (text & graphics) documents. However it still cant hold a candle to a decent laser printer if your after fast printing, other than the price. This isnt really a printer designed for speed though. And whilst it does do fine printing fast documents, its photo printing where this printer really shows its worth. It can do seriously excellent full colour A4 borderless photo prints that are impossible to differentiate from a photo lab equivilant. The printing speed does slow ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fast, decent prints.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages N/A!

First of all, the looks strike you. I feel that this printer is one of those, 'you love it or hate it', deals. I love it. It doesnt have any large protruding parts that you cant simply fold shut when not in use. It has two paper inputs, one is a tray that slots in at the bottom and one (you can see in the picture) is at the top. I rarely use the top, i just load the paper tray with a thud of paper and away I go. I am at university and print of large amounts of coursework, this printer is very good at printing all my work fast. Granted its not the fastest but I dont think anything more is ... more

Advantages Advantages very fast good quality printing at a buget price, cheap cartriges too

Disadvantages Disadvantages cant think of any!

I wasn’t happy with my Epson printer, I had it for a couple of years and was looking for a replacement, I actually bought another Epsom (Epsom r200) to start with, but it was complicated and the print quality was not what was expected as the software kept referring me back to the factory settings, so after pulling my hair out and screaming at my pc I took it back and was then deciding what buy next. I had a good look around and this cannon caught my eye, I was impressed with the information that I had read up about it, but was slightly worried as it was cheaper than my first option. However I ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ink cartridges.

i have owned this printer for approx 9 months now and have found it to be very usefull. i have owned epson printers in the past and found them the ink to be very expensive so i thought i would try canon and it is the best thing i could have done, the print quality is very good for both photo's and cd's. the software and printer are both easy to use and understand. the seperate paper feeds are very useful as i keep my photo paper in the bottom tray and normal paper in the top. You do not need to remove any paper for the cd printing, just use the cd tray provided and open the small front cover ... more

Advantages Advantages Duplex, Print on CD, Borderless Photo

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't fit in my pocket

Having previously owned only Epson printers I'd stupidly fallen in the trap of not keeping an eye on the competition. After having had another Epson printer clog up, then empty itself of new ink cartriges whilst trying(and failing) to clean the heads I decided it was time for a change. Enter the IP3000. I read reviews, and still I was unsure if it would be upto Epson standards. Well look no further. The IP3000 photo prints are fantastic. Either I'm getting old or you just can't see the familiar inkjet dots on close inspection. The prints look as good as photographic prints. Not only that, but ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lots of Features

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little big for a small computer desk

What a great printer for the price. Not only do you get to print direct on to cdr/dvdr's but the print quality on everything that I have tried is fantastic. The only bad thing I can find is that when you have it placed on a hard surface (wooden desk) it gets a little noisy when picking up paper from the bottom loader cartridge, but printing is still smooth and quiet. I have had this printer since october last year and it hasnt let me down yet. The cost of refilling is rock bottom whilst the quality stays sky high. I have never had to use the head cleaning as the quality has always stayed high ... more
