Advantages: robust. user friendly. plenty of extra's Disadvantages: automatic not as clear as earlier models
I had a A610 and decided to up grade to this model, after being delighted with my old camera.
The A630 looks pretty much the same, except it has a bigger viewing screen which I like.
I have always been told that the heavier the camera the less 'shake' you get on the photos. Thiscamera is not exactly heavy, but it is good to hold and there is little movement when you take your pictures.

Advantages: Full manual control, good auto mode, good optical zoom and battery life Disadvantages: large for non-SLR but still smaller than SLRs
...for both my 35mm Compact Canon (which I've had 28 years and originally bought to take good photographs of my children) and a cheap Praktika Digital Camera (which I bought for taking pictures on ebay).
I wanted a camera that I could use on holiday and for uploading pictures to ebay, but mainly to take good quality photographs of my Grandson.
