Advantages Advantages All features included, great picture quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Camera operates with manual settings

I bought the Canon A650 IS Digital Camera last August and i have been using it ever since. I am totally satisfied with it. It is really one of the best value digital cameras out in the market today. I bought it because i was looking for a camera that can take the pictures with the highest mega pixels and the A650 certainly fits the bill with its 12.1 megapixel capability. It is easy to use because it has plenty of features that are not in most of the point and shoot digital cameras available and it delivers every time with clear images. With the sharp images it produces, I have no complaints ... more

Advantages Advantages Flip screen to protect from scratches when not in use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes 4 x AA batteries- a little bit bulky for me!

I've just bought this camera and am really pleased with the results. I also own a Canon IXUS and although the IXUS range is much more compact and extremely good looking, I thought it natural to progress to something with a few more specs. It is fairly bulky, but to me this is partially a good thing as I kept on losing my IXUS! The larger lens is fantastic and it's a great bonus being able to remove it and replace with alternative ones (eg a wide angle lens). It's got loads of features and auto settings, as well as many which you can choose to use manually. It seems to be a pretty good step ... more

    Advantages Advantages Some fantastic pictures

Disadvantages Disadvantages Camera shape and weight

This is the perfect camera for people who just want to turn on take proffesional looking pictures. If you can master the picture setting and manual exposure controls, this camera can produce top quality images. However you would expect this as it is one of the higher end Canon Digital Cameras. The look of the camera is not great to be honest, and they could have done alot better. Its heavy look though matches its actual weight. The camera is very bulky. Nevertheless, depending on the price you might be able to get this camera for, its looks my longer matter. My friend recently bought this ... more

Advantages Advantages AA batteries, flip screen, auto/manual, optical viewfinder

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not very quick at processing.

My plan was to find a camera that didn't keep me waiting on expensive batteries to recharge and an optical viewfinder for when the sun was too bright to read the screen. With the Canon A650 IS the optical viewfinder did not show the same amount as the screen and that was my only real complaint. Yes, it's a little bulky (300g - finding the right case did take some time) but very comfortable in my hands with all the buttons easily available. It's not pretty but the plastic construction feels sturdy enough for me. The flash is occasionally obtrusive but generally very efficient. It was only after ... more
