Advantages: High pixel count, many great features, easy to use, good zoom quality Disadvantages: Slow load for flash, sometimes slow start up
...things I like about the Canon PowerShot A700, and only a few things so far that I dislike.
Good: It is very easy to use. The buttons are labelled nicely and are in the places that most people are used to, so passing off your camera to someone isn't a huge hassle.
There is a great selection of ways to modify pictures, such as colours, settings, etc. I've not used them all yet (ex. snow, beach, fireworks, night, kids/pets, indoor, foliage, colour ... ...you choose), colour swap), but the ones I have used have been good.
I find the final picture quality to be very good. There are blurry pictures from time to time, but it's more technique related, not the camera.
Bad: After taking pictures with the flash, it can take a long time to get it ready for another. It is not good when you need many pictures with the flash for a short time and you can only take a couple (not using the sequential photography ...
