...the criteria, it was the Canon Powershot A710 IS. The picture quality is definitely good enough, especially if you use the camera outside in daylight. The video is also good, I take films of myself and friends playing football, and the frame rate and quality are excellent, even the sound is very good. I bought 4 2500 uniross rechargeable batteries swell as a quick charger and these batteries will last me weeks at a time (100- 200 shots +) ... Read review

This camera has had me and my family buzzing since i opened my christmas present early (naughty i know but i coudnt help it!) Its sleek exterior looks sexy and modern with a touch of class when i snapping away. However it is made of plastic not metal which when looking from afar it potrays! Great value for money. Excellent photo quality up to ISO 200 after which the picture gets a bit noisy/grainy. Extremely good macro shots and wonderful features. The photo quality deteriorates when you use the digital zoom, but that is to be expected with most digital cameras. This camera has great optical zoom for a compact camera, it has 6x when most cameras only have around 4x. A great buy if you are looking for a versatile camera that can be used to take holiday snaps or high-quality photos!

Not a very good one I am afraid. After having this camera for 3 years and ok yes the 3 years has been good but now the camera has let me down - BIG TIME. The company now tell me there is a fault with the A70 (obviously the one I bought 3 years ago). They have been very good and said to send it back but I am constantly asking for a pre-paid label to do this and advice and which store to send it to - however I am getting nowhere, fast. This is an excellent camera that I got for my birthday... Very easy to use and quality of pictures is very good. I recommend it!
