Disadvantages: Too big for a pocket

I've had the S3 IS for a year (upgraded from an S1 IS) when prices dropped in anticipation of the S5 IS. It is a worthwhile upgrade, twice the pixels (6.3m) and 12x zoom. Other changes are: use of SD cards instead of CF, a much improved Super Macro mode for close up shots, the ability to take still shots whilst shooting video, and the flash has to be raised manually. Disadvantages: Low Resolution Viewfinder, Price of accessories

...anything which is far away. Canon software is excellent, plug camera in using the usb cable, camerawindow will download, zoombrowser will start and then you can start looking at every photo. bought this 3 weeks ago. so far i am loving it. photos are lovely; good quality in all conditions. has an image stabiliser which makes it easy to take photos even at awkward angles. good value for money. easy to link to computer and photo printer. the instruction manuals are great having a concise one for beginners and a more detailed one as confidence and experience grows. the camera looks great, is lightweight and easy to carry. the auto function ... Just a little disclaimer before I start this review - it's a review for those non-technical types out there (like me) who get utterly confused by talk of apertures and f-stops. I *did* take a photography course, but then I did drop out...I love cameras and taking pictures, but I don't necessarily understand all the little details.
