If you want the quality and features of an slr with the ease of use of a compact then this is the camera for you. the 8 megapixel resolution helps produce fantastic quality pictures which seems to be the norm with canons highly regarded DIGIC III image processor and lens based optical image stabilisation system. the lens has 10x zoom which i find is ideal for any medium range shooting. the S5 has a 2.5" 207k screen that can flip out from the back ...

I am delighted with this camera. I had a Canon EOS previously and wanted a similar camera but digital however I also wanted a video function - this does both - REALLY well - some good quality shots and lengthy video filming too. It is light and easy to use - I've carried in a big pocket while ski-ing. Only negatives would be that it takes getting used to looking at the screen which is at different angle to the view finder, and the lens cap kept falling off - found a solution - get a smaller one - otherwise - great product and reasonably priced. ...
