The Canon Powershot SX110 IS is a pretty big camera compared to some on the market. It is around 11cm by 7cm and feels quite large in your hands, although this does make it feel sturdy and strongly built. Despite the size, it fits into your hands rather smoothly and is fairly comfortable to hold. It weighs in at around 300g which is quite heavy but once again makes it feel strong. It is too large to keep it comfortably in your pocket ... ..."Farsi". It really looks like Canon are trying to cover everything. It holds all sorts of memory cards namely; SD, SDHC, MMC and MMCplus. The camera will also film short movie clips that are of good quality and a nice addition to the camera. The value for money issue has no definate answer. If you are buying this to be taken out each Christmas, then it is quite a bit of money and would require a bit of thinking about, but as a camera that would get ...

Advantages: Great crisp pictures, Ease of use Disadvantages: Chews through batteries
I purchased this camera for use at school as I found a site offering it at what seemed to be a bargain price and boy have I been impressed. The camera rarely leaves my side now and it never fails to impress. I am a great lover of macro photography and the SX110 has shown itself to be an excellent choice for the close up image. The auto settings are excellent handling the majority of shot types with ease. The colour balance is great and it is quick ... ...and if I am honest, I have probably not even tried half of the m as this camera just seems to know what to do on auto! The camera only came with a tiny card but a 8 Gb card is not expensive and will hold plenty of shots. Connectivity is good with the included cables and software working well. Battery life would be the one complaint I have, it chews through pairs of AAs like they are going out of fashion, but when you look at the results you can forgive ...

Advantages: A lot of features in a small footprint Disadvantages: Menus are hard to navigate
I had an S3, it was damaged and the Warranty people gave me the money to buy another one, I decided to purchase a smaller camera, well, nothing small about this SX110. For a smaller foot print I have the same resolution and the same zoom. Also even when the menu is not that user friendly (I like idiot proof menus) it has all the features my S3 had, the only one I do not have is time delay picture ( the kind they use to photograph a plant growing) ...
