The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-f4.5 USM lens is a high quality wide-angle zoom lens that is ideal for landscape, architectural and interior photography.
It is designed to be used with all Canon EOS cameras with an APS-C sized censor and an EF-S lens mount, it cannot be used with Canon full frame or film cameras, also some older EOS models will not accept this lens either.

Advantages: Range. Optical Quality. Size. Weight. Price. Disadvantages: Lens hood not supplied with lens.
Having owned and used my Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-f/4.5 USM zoom lens for around 15 to 18 months I feel that it is in many ways, quite an exceptional lens. Effectively covering the versatile full-frame equivalent 16-35mm zoom lens, it is a valuable addition to anyone's kit. Being an EF-S lens (the 'S' standing for 'Short' back-focus), it is designed for use ONLY with cameras having APS-C size sensors. Don't attempt to fit one to a full-frame DSLR ... ...feels comfortable on most APS-C Canon DSLR cameras, including smaller/lighter entry level ones.
Unfortunately, like most Canon EF-S lenses, it also doesn't come with a lens hood. This is surprising and in my opinion, a little mean of Canon for surely, such an extreme wide angle lens 'needs' a good lens hood. An essential piece of kit I would think and one should really be included as part of the package.
