Advantages: Value for money, softening, great smell Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
Carmex was developed in the 1939's and is based on natural products. A combination of menthol, camphor and vanilla give it a distictive smell and tingle when applied. Deisgned as a treatment for dry, cracked lips and coldsores although I've also used it for madding moisture to extremely dry skin or dry cuticles
Although carmex is available as a pot, tube or stick, I personally prefer the stick as it's easily applied without getting your fingers ... ...not long term, I find carmex really softens and moisturises even after the balm itself has worn off. I have used a number of more expensive lipbalms and none provided the long term improvement that carmex has.
Carmex may not be suitable for everyone as it contains lanolin and salicylic acid.
Ingredients: Menthol, Camphor, alum, salicylic acid, fragrance, petroleum, lanolin, cocoa butter and a mixture of waxes
