My new lip essential!

Advantages: Lovely smell, works brilliantly!
Disadvantages: Dull packaging may put you off at first glance.

...on them, genuinely believing the Carmex tube they were being offered was superglue! So it is definitely not a fashion accessory, although maybe this is a good thing as it will appeal to both men and women. The small tin is about 2.5cm deep and 3.5cm in diameter, containing 7.5g of lip balm, making it perfect handbag/pocket size. Also, don't be misled by all the French instructions on the lid - it is in fact an American product if you look closer ...
...After a quick sweep of Carmex my lips were quickly cooled and soothed, a lot more effectively than with my normal lip balm. If you're interested then I would advise you to check out their website '''www.carma-labs.com'''. It's easy to use and as well as giving you a brief history of Carmex manufacture and a list of products, it has some fun sections like a Carmex quiz and a list of many famous men and women who have been sighted using it (like Carrie ...

Carmex

Advantages: It works!
Disadvantages: Some people find it messy

Have to confess I really have a nasty habit, some people bite their nails, other smoke but when I am stressed I tend to pick at my lips and this gets worse when my lips are already dry because of really hot or cold weather. I have tried all sorts of products, lipbalms and vaseline but unfortunately nothing seemed to make things better, actually some products used to make my lips really dry or just create some sort of film over my lips without moisturizing ...
...work, I was a bit puzzled by the yellow lid and didn't think this was going to save me. So I went to Boots and bought one of these, "I might as well give it a go!" I thought... and yes finally I found the right lipbalm for me!! This product comes either in a yellow plastic tube with a red lid or a little 7.5g tin. The tin has a metal twist cap which is yellow in colour and with black writing. You can read in block capitals its name "CARMEX" and ...

Excellent lip balm in a neat little pot

Advantages: Works well, convenient to carry
Disadvantages: None for me

As you may already know from my previous reviews I always use lip balm. I just cannot stand the sensation of my lips feeling dry and use the balms all year round to combat the dryness caused by the sun and wind. There are little pots and tubes all over the place here in the cottage - in drawers, in my handbag, next to the bed - you name it! I have tried lots of different lip balms and Dave usually buys me a variety as stocking fillers at Christmas ...
...ones, but whilst in Tesco last week I found another one. I was looking to see if any of my favourites were on special offer and a gentleman reached across me to pick up a pot of Carmex. He turned to me and told me that it was brilliant and the only thing that worked for him, so I decided to give it a try. To be fair I had read various good reviews about this product here on Ciao and had been meaning to try it for some time. The little pot containing ...

...and I have been using Carmex since about 5 years ago when I was introduced to it. Boring Stuff The pot of Carmex was the brands first product and is still its most popular today, it was created in 1937 which I suppose goes to show that even with technical advances nowadays, sometimes the old products are still the best! I no that there are many other products in the range including different flavours of the product, but personally I prefer simple, ...
...on the shelf in shops. Carmex is said to be made of three keys ingredients which make it so successful, 1. Menthol - This is an anti itch substance which also cools your mouth and stops it becoming irritable and making you want to bite or chew them further 2. Camphor - this is a pain reliever and stops bruised or cut lips from stinging or feeling bruised. 3. Phenol - this is an anaesthetic ingredient which in general numbs the mouth and makes the ...

Disadvantages: Not fun like other lip balms

...wonder product. Well it is Carmex Lip Balm which is manufactured by Carma Lab Inc in Franklin, Wisconsin USA and was first produced in 1937 by Carma Lab's founder Alfred Woelbing who was a pharmaceutical buyer looking at ways to cure his own chapped lips. He and his wife manufactured this product at home until the product became so successful that they had to move production to a factory in 1957. And I can see why this product has been so successful ...
...back to anything else. Carmex is a more medicated way of looking after your lips - it isn't just a moisturiser. It has a number of active ingredients which help to soothe and heal as well as give you very kissable lips. The base of the balm is rich and made up of petroleum, lanolin, cocoa butter and a mix of waxes such as beaswax and paraffin wax. This gives the product quite a smooth but firm texture. It isn't runny and you can run your finger ...

Give your lips a real treat!

Advantages: Moisturises lips to the max
Disadvantages: Expensive

Carmex is one of those beauty products that I just WOULD not be without. For some people it's their Chanel No 5 or their Touch Eclat but I must always carry this magical little yellow tub in my bag! I had tried those horrible stick lip balms before and all my friends used those little tins of Vaseline but I never got on with them. They were too soft and 'wet.' Then one day when I was backpacking in the USA I went into a 'gas station' in Bryce Canyon ...

Both my ex and current boyfriend can always tell when I'm wearing it because they feel the effect after they kiss me! - Phenol: kills germs - Lanolin: lubricates the lips, protects and makes them soft - Cocoa Butter: moisturises them - Aloe Vera: soothes sun burn and hydrates - Vitamin E: retains moisture and prevents against chapping - Shea Butter: softens ...

...saviour, but instead I found carmex lip balm in my sister's room, she has a thing about buying lip balm's and lip gloss's so I guessed she wouldn't realise it had gone missing as she has another 1000 to use. Carmex - wonder balm!

Advantages: + Helps to soothe chapped lips, Value for money
Disadvantages: - Its effects lessen over time

...live up to its promises? Carmex has been around since the 1930's so something which has been around for such a long time must be good. It comes in a small yellow, black and white pot, nothing special, perhaps rather dated packaging. Not very impressive, and neither is the appearance of the product which looks very much like yellow candle wax, so not exactly the most attractive. However what marks are lost in its appearance are replaced by the effectiveness ...
...though, unlike some lip balms, Carmex doesn't taste horrible, and has quite a distinctive and unique taste, although it is certainly not something I would like to eat! ~The effects~ After I've put on some Carmex, my lips start to tingle, with a pleasantly cold sensation which seems to creep over my lips. I personally like the 'tingle' on my lips, as it possibly helps to give the illusion (which is correct!) that it is actually helping my lips, ...

Sooothe me baby!

Advantages: Great lip balm that really works
Disadvantages: None

Carmex lip balm was created by Alfred Woelbing in Milwaukee, in the early 1930's when only natural ingredients were available. After trying so many different brands of lip-balm, with hundreds of assorted colours and flavours over the years, I was recently recommended Carmex by a friend - and I love it! I openly admit to being to lip-balm addict, and I have been for many years now (even more so since discovering this one!) So the pure frustration ...
...finally come to an end. Over the years I've come across some pretty awful lip-balms, some were like oil slicks that were more like gloss and stayed on your mouth for no more than 5 minutes (and left embarrassing greasy lip marks on your glass, which when you try to rub off just looks worse!) Some tasted like rancid fruit or some kind of waxy plastic. And some just tell lies and are in-fact lipstick, which when your going for the 'au natural' look ...

No chapping on my finger.

Advantages: Lasts ages.
Disadvantages: Not hygienic

...:~ Alfred Woelbing created Carmex in the 1930's as he suffered with cold sores and chapped lips. If you want a full history of the product go to their web page at, http://www.carmalabs.com/ Price :~ Price is about £2.25 - £3.25. Got mine from Boots at £2.49. For me it seems good value as it goes a long way and does the job. Active ingredients :~ Menthol :~ is an antipruritic which helps to relieve itching . Camphor :~ is a pain reliever and ...
...:~ Rub finger onto Carmex it does take a little rubbing to get onto the finger. But it seems as your finger warms the balm it turns softer. Also try not to leave in the sun or any where to warm as this makes it melt and then you get to much on your finger. Rub onto dry chapped lips. Effects :~ When rubbed onto the lips there is a coolness then a cold tingling sensation. The smell of vanilla and menthol waft up the nose. It makes me lick my lips ...

Once you use Carmex you never go back.

Advantages: Tingling sensation that helps your lips
Disadvantages: The smell could be alot nicer

Carmex – Lip Balm Looking after my lips is very important to me as I have always had chapped lips all year round for some reason I am just prone to them, some would say unlucky, I would say a way of life it swings in roundabouts. No need for a fancy title - it's AMAZING!

Advantages: Everything: softening, soothing
Disadvantages: Nothing at all :)

If you don't own this lip balm already GET OUT AND BUY IT. Price: - Around about £2 - i've seen it for slightly more and slightly less than this. Packaging: Small and very plain. Believe me when I say I have no problem with this, it's so fab it doesn't need to have any fancy packaging. Note: You can also buy this lip balm in a squeezy tube format which I have also tried. It is equally good for your lips but I've found the pot to be of more use ...
...and it seems to go further. The balm: Not at all runny and just the right texture to run your finger round and get the correct amount. I suppose it's a yellowish colour if anything, and I can only describe the scent as carmex-y! When applied to the lips you only need a small amount to immediately feel the difference. It gives a slight tingling effect which is in no way uncomfortable. The lip balm does not give a "shiny" affect, but if you put it ...

Best lip balm in the world, can also be used as eyebrow gel

Advantages: Gorgeous smell, effective at moisturising lips, multi-functionality
Disadvantages: Price

The best thing about Carmex original is the smell. That lovely blend of lip-balm smell and vanilla smell is heavenly. It is also why you can tell at once if someone else is wearing it. The lip balm contains menthol, which gives your lips a refreshing coolness, especially in summer. The intensity of the shine is entirely up to how much you choose to put on. A blended smudge will result in plump, healthy lips; continuous application will make them ...
...Carmex as an eyebrow gel to tame unruly brows. One slick makes you look more polished. However, do not try to use it on your eyelashes because if it gets into your eyes it will sting! I prefer the Original Carmex to the cherry variety, firstly because the cherry variety smells like a million other cherry lip balms on the market whereas the original is unique; also because in my opinion the cherry smell can get a bit annoying after a while, where ...
