~ Choice ~ The first thing I noticed when I walked into Carpet Right was the amount of stuff in there. There was endless rolls of carpet, lots of rugs/runners on display and a laminate flooring section so I'd felt straight away that I could find my carpet. (It had to be cream and very soft!) Browzing through the aisles I was impressed by the amount of choice. There was all sorts! Loads of different colours from white to black and different patterns ...

Last week I visited my local Carpet Right Showroom in order to take advantage of a 50% off promotion. We decided on a carpet to the value of £17, minus the 50% discount, meaning that we pay £8.50 per sq metre. We decided on an underlay at a cost of £8 per sq metre, and middle cost fastenings. But I would strongly recommend taking on board that cheapest is not always best and that you sometimes get what you pay for by way of service. I never thought that I would be writing an op like this on Carpet Right but after today I am so angry. I have bought a carpet from them before which was fine, apart from the carpet was slightly different than what we picked in store, but I felt I could live with that. We went into their shop on a Friday evening, where we were the only customers. We chose some vinyl flooring which we had to pay for there and then. The salesman said he would place the order the following day and that it would take 3 weeks. We were shocked as we had previously bought vinyl from 2 other different stores and delivery was usually about 3-5 days. He also said that we should ring regularly to chase the order! I recently used Carpet Right in Leicester to re-carpet my stairway, upstairs landing and second bedroom. On balance, I can recommend that others use them - but be sure to ask the right questions, and get an itemised estimate before buying! At 50% of the list price, plus an extra 20% off in the sale, it was pretty cheap at £8 psm. I also bought underlay at £6 psm. The salesman was pleasant, courteous, helpful and professional. No hard sell at all. ...

Like every warehouse carpet retailer across the nation, they have a wide selection, plenty available 'on the day' and reasonable lead in times for most product. Free estimation and home measurement, and reasonable - unhidden - costs. However, the '50% off' further 20% off buy today double discount signs get very tiring. ...from the Chatham branch of Carpetright in January 2008 to have our entire two bedroom flat covered. Someone came out to measure and assess the floors. When the fitters arrived they continuously criticised the guy who had done the measurements and quote and said that because of his 'mistakes' they would have to lay the carpet in the hallway with a join. They also laid the vinyl in the bathroom with the pattern going vertically instead of horizontally ...
...decided to accept (what choice did we have really). However, within 4 months of having it all fitted the kitchen and bathroom vinyl started to bubble. It looked as if it had stretched and hadn't been glued properly.
