“Throwing Me A Lifeline”

published 11/08/2005

Competitively priced, good cover, easy claims

£29.50 excess charge

According to the Car Phone Warehouse:  A mobile phone is stolen every minute in the UK  One in three people surveyed have lost their phone or had it stolen  Around half of all street crime involves the theft of a mobile phone I'm not convinced that it's quite the crime...

I recently purchased a phone at the carphone warehouse, and normally I would refuse insurance, but the sales staff were so thourough in their explanation of the products, and explaining the cost of the handset and contract, I took it there and then. The policy I took was the Complete package...

My experience with LifeLine insurance from the Carphone Warehouse has been very poor and has in fact consumed so much time out of my life that it would have been much easier to buy a replacement handset myself than make a claim with them. So far my insurance claim has taken 30 days, 17 phone...

Covers everything and easy to claim

Pricey

I have always bought my phones from Carphone because they provide the widest amount of phones to choose from and generally their customer service is quite good. Guaranteed, come to the end of out lengthy conversation on choosing the phone, network and tariff will be the big speech on how I would...

Piece of mind, usefull service

When purchasing my first contract mobile, a Nokia 7110 on Orange Everday50, I was offered Carphone Warehouse LifeLine cover. I suppose that I was talked into it a bit by the salesman, but I am now glad he talked me around. The option I bought was LifeLine Complete. It not only covers phone...

I recently bought the Nokia 6230 (see my review on this phone) from the Carphone Warehouse (CPW). Whilst I was buying the phone, I was offered insurance (Complete Lite) which I decided to take up. It was £22.50 every 3 months paid by direct debit. (Which I think is a really good price). I know...

I signed a new line with CPW and they recommend that I take up their insurance policy. Normally I do not do that as I never believe I will lose my phone. They managed to convince me and true in enough, something you never expect will happen happened. I actually lost my phone within two weeks of...

Not for me

published 02/01/2008

I have Lifeline Complete (the most expensive policy) and having lost my Nokia 8800 I was offered an 8600. I refused to accepted this and was eventually offered an N95 8GB as I 'had been treated poorly'. Imagine my surprise when Lifeline then refused to honour their offer - they don't deny making the offer - honesty and integrity clearly mean nothing at Lifeline. One manager even lied by saying that the N95 8GB wasn't in stock and he had no way of knowing if they would ever get stock. Eventually they came clean and told me that the handset was just too expensive. I like the speed at which they took my money I don't like how they deal with claims!

Not for me

published 31/12/2008

I have been paying £30.00 a quarter for CPW insurance for over 3 years, lost phone yesterday and called insurance - basically all I can say is what a waste of time and money when I think I am paying £120.00 a year they do not want to know and will not offer a replacement without a crime number, for goodness sake its a lost phone that was turned off, it was not stolen. Definately would not advise any one to take this cover out.

I left my phone in a locker at my gym, only realised when i got home that i didn't have it. It was too late to phone gym as i left near closing time. I phoned the gym in the morning to check if it was there or had been handed in but no luck - it had gone, so i quickly called Orange and got my...

I took my phone in after I dropped it. I waited 2 weeks... They repaired it (although they didn't call me to let me know it was back in). I took it home, it didn't work! They had actually made it worse. I took it back in. The said they'd repair it again. I waited 3 weeks.... I recieved a letter...

I think lifeline insurance is brilliant, i have the complete policy, because i seem to brake handsets very easily!
