Review of Casio FX 85 ES by zainabm

Advantages: great brand, loads of functions, natural display, solar powered
Disadvantages: none

...Argos). The calculator is made by Casio which is a well known and trusted brand for calculators. The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is light to carry. It comes in two parts - the main calculator (black face and grey base) and plastic sliding lid (grey). The lid is easy to use although personally I just keep the lid on the back leaving the calculator displayed all the time. The keys are large enough for easy use and also all writing is clear ... Casio the wonder calculator!
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by JaYmEZ

Advantages: Reliable, Long battery life and very handy!
Disadvantages: Long mathmatical equation inputting not so good.

This Casio calculator has been at my side for approximately at least 5years now, and is in more demand now than previous use. I have used this calculator in 3 main areas. 1. General GCSE 2. Chemistry and Biology A-level and now 3. Chemistry degree (first year only so far…) GCSE: Harking back to the good ole days (why are they called the good ole days? Someone please tell me why!) My calculator joined me in my quest of maths at the ... Read review

Great calculator
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by chaizak

Advantages: Very cheap and solar powered
Disadvantages: No

Casio is the leader brand in calculators worldwide up to now it's the only brand I ever use. Bought this one from Argos two years ago only to have it as a spare in case the other dies of batteries in the middle of the exam since it was cheap and it was solar powered so no need to have to worry about batteries. When I first switched it on I freaked out when I saw the natural typing they added in this new series of models and was very relaxed when ... Read review

All you'll ever need!
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by zobo77

Advantages: Natural textbook display, Easy to use, Good value for money, Casio, everything!!
Disadvantages: None!

...I never once regretted it. Casio have always been my favourite brand of calculators, but this is definately their best yet. I have found it extremely useful in both core maths and statistics. The ability to view your calculations as you would see them on paper helps to see what you are doing and make sure you get the operations in the right order (no more BODMAS mistakes with this calculator!) It's a very easy calculator to get the hang of, and ... Read review

Makes my life easier!
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by w15e1

Advantages: Great for A levels and beyond!
Disadvantages: can be a bit fiddly to begin with

...one cos i trusted the Casio brand and also i liked the colour :P... the first thing you will notice is that the display is completely different to other calculators. it has a natural display, meaning that what you type in to it will come up on the screen as you would see it in a textbook or on paper. at first it took a while to get used to and figure out where the buttons where. but after i was used to it it made my life soooooo much easier! And ... Read review

Add em' up
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by slik321

Advantages: scientific, size, weight, design
Disadvantages: perhaps it should be all black in colour

...like the colour of the casio calculator, the front section is black and the back is grey. There are some lovely curves and the calculator is nice and thin (about 1cm) and is extremely light-weight for it's size. Efficiency - I purchased this calculator a year ago when i was sittting my GCSE's and found it to be of great use. I am not a person who is too smart in maths (got a D at GCSE) so i could not use the calculator to it's full potential. ... Read review

Casio FX 85 ES
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by silentpig

Advantages: The new casio natural display and solar power
Disadvantages: I'll explain in the review

Ok the Casio FX 85 ES is simply put the best calculator available on the market that can be used in exams. Casio have recently been working with the Joint Examination board to ensure it's new "student" calculators do not break the rules-so no worries there students! So this natural display-what is it? Basically it allows you to type on the screen as if you were writing it in your book, for example squares roots are real on there and you can do fractions ... Read review

The Simple,Stylish,Concise FX-85ES Calculator
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by rohanarora99a

Advantages: Good and easy to use interface, sytlish, clear and concise
Disadvantages: None, really

Casio has invented a new model of calculator. With textbook display and good functions, maths students will be very pleased! It has a simple to use interface with over 100 functions. It has been developed from the FX85MS which was also a great calculator. It is also solar-powered. It is stylish and looks really good. With a case to protect it when it's not being used it saves the calculator from being damaged in most cases (water sipllages). The ... Read review

Casio casio
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by Babithas

Advantages: Durability, usability
Disadvantages: it lacks a few features as your maths gets more in depth

The best feature that you get with this model is its durability, i have had mine for well over 5 years. Being an avid mathematician, i use it time and time again and never has the screen blurred or ran out of battery, which is impossible as it has two way power. The natural display feature means that we can write equations and fractions the way we see them, and don't have to mess around with buttons that we would usually have to tamper with on other ... Great scientific calculator for maths&science
Review of Casio FX 85 ES by natalie271

Advantages: easy to use, fufilled it's potential as a calculator
Disadvantages: none :)

This product is easy to use and has all the key features most scientists or mathematicians would need. It is also useful for children at a KS3 and higher level but probably nothing lower. There are simple, easy to understnad instructions included (which are definately helpful if you understand anything to do with maths as well as I do - i.e. not well at all!) to show you how to use certain buttons on the caluculator, but apart from that it is pretty ... ...far beyond the other standard Casio calculators in that the display is set out as you would write it in you work book. The keys are set out like any other calculators and has not other real advantage over any other calculators. In my personal experience being able to type exact ally what you write down on you work book helps a great deal. It is a little more expensive than other calculators. It has 6 memory states and over 20 different mode settings. It ... Read review
