Advantages: great brand, loads of functions, natural display, solar powered Disadvantages: none
...The calculator is made by Casio which is a well known and trusted brand for calculators. The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is light to carry. It comes in two parts - the main calculator (black face and grey base) and plastic sliding lid (grey). The lid is easy to use although personally I just keep the lid on the back leaving the calculator displayed all the time. The keys are large enough for easy use and also all writing is clear on and above ... ...the battery in my own Casio solar calculator which is over 5 years old now!). The calculator came with fold out user guides in several languages. I think a booklet would have been more useful; nevertheless, it is easy to follow and covers all the functions of the calculator and everything you will need to know about it, e.g. getting started, precautions, and technical information. Lots of diagrams and examples are included making everything clear.

Advantages: Reliable, Long battery life and very handy! Disadvantages: Long mathmatical equation inputting not so good.
This Casio calculator has been at my side for approximately at least 5years now, and is in more demand now than previous use. I have used this calculator in 3 main areas. 1. General GCSE
2. Chemistry and Biology A-level and now
3. Chemistry degree (first year only so far…)

My calculator joined me in my quest of maths at the tender ... ...asked to do was to deal with are such aspects as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, powers and bracketed equations. These are the basics of most maths until a level maths, and on these small calculations it doesn’t fail. One would think that if it did it wouldn’t really be a good calculator! (By the way don’t forget good old trigonometry and standard deviation!)

Advantages: Very cheap and solar powered Disadvantages: No
Casio is the leader brand in calculators worldwide up to now it's the only brand I ever use. Bought this one from Argos two years ago only to have it as a spare in case the other dies of batteries in the middle of the exam since it was cheap and it was solar powered so no need to have to worry about batteries.

Advantages: Natural textbook display, Easy to use, Good value for money, Casio, everything!! Disadvantages: None!
...I never once regretted it. Casio have always been my favourite brand of calculators, but this is definately their best yet. I have found it extremely useful in both core maths and statistics.
The ability to view your calculations as you would see them on paper helps to see what you are doing and make sure you get the operations in the right order (no more BODMAS mistakes with this calculator!) It's a very easy calculator to get the hang of, and ... ...do you see sums as you type them in, you can also view data in tables, or even find out which numbers would occur in a series without having to work it out. The log to any base function is also very useful as an A level student. I would recommend this calculator to anyone, whether they do complicates maths sums or simple ones. If you're going to buy a calculator, buy this one - It's not expensive, around £10 in most shops, and, although there are ...

Advantages: Great for A levels and beyond! Disadvantages: can be a bit fiddly to begin with
...one cos i trusted the Casio brand and also i liked the colour :P...
the first thing you will notice is that the display is completely different to other calculators. it has a natural display, meaning that what you type in to it will come up on the screen as you would see it in a textbook or on paper. at first it took a while to get used to and figure out where the buttons where. but after i was used to it it made my life soooooo much easier!
And ... ...new electronic stuff, the included manual teaches you all you need for this.
AS levels are hard enough! but this calculator actually makes them much easier. having a display that looks like the textbook makes working out and reading off calculations much easier! it also saves time as multiple things can be done at the same time that would not normally have been possible with the old '2 line display' calculators. Overall if you are doing A levels ...

Advantages: scientific, size, weight, design Disadvantages: perhaps it should be all black in colour
...like the colour of the casio calculator, the front section is black and the back is grey. There are some lovely curves and the calculator is nice and thin (about 1cm) and is extremely light-weight for it's size. Efficiency - I purchased this calculator a year ago when i was sittting my GCSE's and found it to be of great use. I am not a person who is too smart in maths (got a D at GCSE) so i could not use the calculator to it's full potential. However, ... ...amazed at the functions the casio calculator could perform. Cost - At the time i payed around £12 from Argos which i thought was a reasonably good price for one of the top brands of calculator and a scientific one to boot. Personal value - I myself do not use a calculator much nowadays as i thankfully do not do maths at college but to someone who would use this more than once a week for fractions and other complicated mathamatical equations then ...

Advantages: The new casio natural display and solar power Disadvantages: I'll explain in the review
Ok the Casio FX 85 ES is simply put the best calculator available on the market that can be used in exams. Casio have recently been working with the Joint Examination board to ensure it's new "student" calculators do not break the rules-so no worries there students!
So this natural display-what is it? Basically it allows you to type on the screen as if you were writing it in your book, for example squares roots are real on there and you can do fractions ... ...is an amazing calculator-oh i almost forgot it also allows you to do a log to any base-how cool is that? It doesn't cost much at £11 and casio always have good consumer support (ring the hotline people!) I would definitely recommend this to any GCSE or A-level student. ...

Advantages: Good and easy to use interface, sytlish, clear and concise Disadvantages: None, really
Casio has invented a new model of calculator. With textbook display and good functions, maths students will be very pleased! It has a simple to use interface with over 100 functions. It has been developed from the FX85MS which was also a great calculator. It is also solar-powered.
It is stylish and looks really good. With a case to protect it when it's not being used it saves the calculator from being damaged in most cases (water sipllages).
The ... ...relevant uses for the calculator and ways to use and how to use the diffferent functions on the calculator.
The calculator can erase it's memory and be used in 3 different modes depending on the type of maths.
It is available in all good retail shops (stationery box, sainsburys and tescos +maany more). For a price of 10 pounds. It will take you up to GCSE/AS level and I would recommend it for ages 11-20 and generally basic daily use. It is great ...

Advantages: Durability, usability Disadvantages: it lacks a few features as your maths gets more in depth
The best feature that you get with this model is its durability, i have had mine for well over 5 years. Being an avid mathematician, i use it time and time again and never has the screen blurred or ran out of battery, which is impossible as it has two way power. The natural display feature means that we can write equations and fractions the way we see them, and don't have to mess around with buttons that we would usually have to tamper with on other ...

This product is easy to use and has all the key features most scientists or mathematicians would need. It is also useful for children at a KS3 and higher level but probably nothing lower.
