Cataract surgery

Firstly let me give you a brief history......I have had very poor eyesight for as long as I can remember. Even before school I can remember bumping into things, tripping over feet, bags, the cat or anything on the floor. Usually thought of as a part of the ageing process, cataracts can develop at any age. In my case, I developed cataracts in both eyes at the age of 44. There are hereditary conditions that can cause children to be born with cataracts or to develop them at an early age. Injuries to the eye can also cause a cataract to develop. Radiation is also known to cause cataracts and some new research points to the fact that early computer screens (which had no radiation screening, unlike modern display units) might have caused some people to develop cataracts.
