    Having just written about my Shimano gear-change for the bike I’m building, the opportunities for boring the pants off you (still further) are legion. Why, there’s a whole list of bike parts I haven’t touched on yet, all with equally boring titles. ‘Never Give A Sucker An Even BRAKE’, ‘Grazing SADDLES’, ‘Who Rogered The Rabbit’s FRAME’, and for the classical history buffs, there’s ‘Tyre and Side-on – Two Views of my Bike’.     Quite simply, a gem of a web-based mail order company. I've never used them for anything other than mail order via the web, a fact that may very well be different if not for them being based in Northern Ireland. But from my experiences over thh past couple of years I honestly don't believe that the service would be any better. I've placed an order after close of business one day, and received the complete order the following day! Now that's what I call service :-) I've never had reason to complain, so I can't say much about the customer service in that respect, but In can tell you that advice ... more

    You may have seen the promo video they have released about how efficient their warehouse is and how quickly they get a vast number of goods out to customers...there may be other reasons why this is the case. I recently received a brand new bike from them, which had untrue wheels, chipped paintwork, bent components and loose stem bolts amongst other problems. They have the fastest delivery out there, if you order before four, you'll have it next working day before 2pm, better yet, postage is free!.     A week from my "all-in-stock" order, credit card debited and no items dispatched yet. Twice customer svc replied to me and promised to send them "today" (two separate days that is) but after they didn't, they also stopped answering emails (the phone line never answers). Would not recommend to anyone any more, their "award winning service" is close to getting criminal, I've paid 460 EUR for stuff I've never received, and am losing hope of ever getting it (in which case I'm contacting my credit card company and filing an investigation against the company).     I agree with all the 1 star ratings and as for all the 5 star ratings well your on a slippery road to disapointment. Ordered many an item and run into similar problems with weeks of waiting no response to calls and emails etc. But the 1 that took the biscuit was when I ordered a Hope floating rotor, it had carefully been repackaged and had obviously been used. After previous disputes (im a slow learner) I decided to take pictures and stapled notes to the packaging clearly stating the sistuation.     What can i say what a quality website fantastic range of products for all kinds of cycling. I myself have ordered plenty of products from this website and they've been nothing but amazing. The dispatch is very quick which i have been the most imprssed with. Although it has its big competitors like wiggle and such, nothing can beat its amzing prices. An example of this is the custom wheel builds they do; after going through there user friendly wheelbuild tool where you choose from a range of hubs and rims to build the wheel you desire.     Tried to order 5 items from them. The first one arrived reasonably quickly, however from then on things started going wrong. 20 days after the inital order still no goods despatched, despite the website saying they were in stock. Opening the 'my account' page showed the order in 'Unknown status' and it was impossible to either amend it or Cancel it. The phone number of customer service was constantly engaged, so the only way to contact them was via email. There again, very slow response ( about 2 days per query).     Ordered an "in stock" item a week ago, credit card processed, no delivery. Online order tracking just says "processing" which I take to mean it has not yet been "sent". No response to email and phone on continual answerphone (which I have noticed is a common complaint of CRC by other buyers). I have rarely experienced such poor service from an online cycle specialist retailer - and on the odd occasion when there has been an issue, communication of some kind has been possible. This lack of response at all levels is dreadful - I would never recommend to anyone ever.

    I have ordered a few times from Chain Reaction in the past and so far have not really had any prolbems. In fairness though I have never had to send anything back to them which may be why. I had to change a recent order at the confirmation stage and this all went through without a hitch. All the things that have been delivered have arrived quickly (and for free) and been what I asked for.
