So, the new Championship Manager has arrived on the shelves, this being “Championship Manager 2001-02”, the latest offering from the guys at “Eidos Interactive”.
I have actually been playing Championship Manager from the very first version, back in the days when my Amiga 500 was a powerful machine (those were the days), the game has gone through hundreds of changes, as the newer versions got more and more detailed and the ... ...remember which leagues were in Championship Manager 2000-01, as I stopped playing it due to my Ciao addiction, but there sure seems to be a lot more now.
There are also added media messages, these include more local media speculation and rumour reports, but as far as I can see, there doesn’t seem to be that many changes on this front, but I have only been playing for a couple of days and not got into the full swing of things.

...to answer for haven't they? Championship Manager in all of its versions and guises has probably been responsible for the break-up of couples and arguments of friends and brothers alike all over the world. One would imagine that if the girlfriends of brother's Paul and Mark Collyer (the designers of CM) had danced naked in front of them, clutching carnations in their cleavages and promising to be "Your slave for the day", they would hardly have raised ... ...tweaks until the release of Championship Manager 3. You would think by now that they had done everything that it is possible to do to a football management sim - apart from allowing you to nip out for some half time coffee and a slice of orange, but when CM3 hit the shelves, it must have surpassed the expectations of even the Collyer twins themselves. Advantages: Teams are very up to date. New features deepen the complexity. Disadvantages: None of the new stuff is particularly outstanding. As, always this game will damage all relationships and kill social lives.
I have to say that like a fan of The Beatles who saw them in Hamburg in 1961 I can claim to have been ahead of the crowd when it came to this game. I bought the original in 1993. It was a very different game then, a season took about an hour instead of the days it can take now. Transfers were very simple and it was relatively easy to take Cambridge United through the divisions to eventual European Cup glory. It is not a beautiful graphical game, in fact many of its followers would go as far to say its an ugly game, but it is the simplicity of the layout, the abundance of statistics and overall male passion for the game that is known as Football. Now of course this is the newer release that requires extra processing power and memory so for all those budding to move a bit quicker you can have a go at the older ... ...they could do better. Championship manager 1 was created, Oh! If only they knew what they had started. It contained a text-based system in which you took over your favourite team in a bid for victory. The game was a new concept and was received well by local games magazines. The game (and games of that time) was built in BASIC so it was easy to edit and therefore hack.
In 1990 they were looking to find a publisher for their concept. Many were not ...

Advantages: Unrivalled Football Management Simulation Disadvantages: Too Long-Winded for the Average Joe
...those who has stuck by Championship Manager from it's very beginning released by Domark, the very first version released some 15 years ago on the Amiga 500 which was a set of four 720 floppy disks.
In fact I still have the original version of this game on my Amiga 1200 which my father still plays to this very day - well, if that is not lasting power then someone please tell me what is!
The original game was based on the four english leagues 1st ... ...had crude attributes and statistics assigned to them. In fact the game only had 6 attributes per player.
This latest version of the game has extended the player information to roughly 40 attributes (visible). There are also hidden attributes such as current ability and potential. This is perfect for the serious football manager such as myself! If you are the type of person who just wants to play match after match based purely on a team of players ...

...admit I have been playing championship manager since early 95' when it released its second in the now long and very famous series. The game was developed by Paul and Oliver Collyer in there bedroom, quite an impressive feat you must agree. The game was simple yet I couldn't drag myself of it, day after day I was there trying to get Tottenham to win the premiership (which took me a long time believe me)

When news of the new Championship Manager came out (Championship Manager 4), I thought I had better get back to playing the older one. With Championship Manager being the greatest managing game series ever, I thought this would be of use to many readers.
From the 97/98 Season I have been using Championship Manager. I remember I used to have to play it in MSDOS to get it started. It was slow, had relatively little features and was only had a handful ... ...(e.g. Owen and van Nistelrooy) Championship Manager O1/O2 finally gives you the chance. The player comparison has two different levels to it.
1.It will directly compare the visual stats (being a stat based game) and then display in a colour coded scheme.

Advantages: Fantastic game play. Lastability Disadvantages: Turns you into a hermit.
If you have read any of the other reviews on this game you will by now know just how addictive it is. The layout is so easy, the game play is great and its very hard to get bored of it.
Being an avid follower of the game since its early days, I have seen it develop into a better and better game each time a new release comes out (normaly this time of year)
I have tried in vain over the last year or so to try to weain myself off of it and spend some ... ...I came back to reality to find that it wasn't actually the year 2015, and even more supprised to find that Albion rovers hadn't won the Scottish premier league for the last 10 seasons. How could this be? I was the most successful football manager the world has ever seen, the board loved me, the fans has such respect and admiration for me, it had to be true, didn't it?

...face it, the popularity of championship manager has become that huge that there are very few people who have never played it, and there are very few football management fans that have actually not became addicted!
The game itself does state that it is the most important game of your life, and like it's predecessors, the game justifies it's own title. The set-up of the game is amazingly easy, a click here, and few letters of a footballers name there ... ...C:, then programme files, then championship manager, then in it's folder go to menubars, and create the path for it, for further instruction on that one go to www.cmanagercenter.com! We aren't supposed to throw links in i know, but that is a champ manager haven, and is a hell of a detailed site, menubars are on there aswell as any reviews you want on tactics etc.

So what’s new? Well as always you have updated teams, updated leagues, added players, added leagues and other aspects tweaked, below is a explanation of all the main features which have been added:
·The main feature of the game, which has been changed this time around, is the inclusion of the new EU regulated ... ...well worth spending £20 on. Championship manager is still the greatest and most realistic football manager around and I am sure this will stay this way for a long time yet, the enjoyment is still all there and I can guarantee you’ll be spending hours of your life on this! I would definitely recommend this to any football fan! So if you think you have what it takes to be the next great manager then put yourself to the test, buy Championship Manager ...

Advantages: Better by far than any other management game I've ever come across. There just is no rival to the CM franchise. Disadvantages: No graphical representation of matches - just wait though because CM4 will put this right.
...this latest version of the Championship Manager is built on the CM3 engine of about 3 years ago. This means it looks fairly similar to the CM 00/01 game. But again as anybody who knows the games will tell you, looks can be deceiving. The key features are:
Twenty-six concurrent leagues are playable (providing your PC is up to it of course).
Detailed profiles and histories for over 100,000 players, managers, and coaches.
Full international simulation ... ...on the previous version. There is only one other game in production that I am aware of which could better it. And that game is still some way off completion. 12 months or so its makers reckon.

Advantages: It's very very very good. Disadvantages: you forfeit any kind of social life
...part of being successful at Championship Manager (CM). You can offer pure cash or other players to try and land big name signings altough the division your team is in (as well as how much cash you've got) is a big factor.
Your team plays not only in the league but also in all relevant cup competitions (for example the League Cup, the FA cup, the Vans trophy and so on) with often nail biting ends to seasons as you bid to get promoted, avoid relegation ... ...for everone in this game, whether you choose to start at the bottom and work your way up, turning a small team into one of football's big guns. Alternatively, you may wish to start at the top and continue to dominate both domestic and European football.
When you play a match you have a variety of options ranging from how you "view" the game to what you want your team to do.
I say "view" the game as this is not a traditional view of people running ...

...the world…that being of course, Championship Manager.
Being a student with plenty of time on his hands!! I recently brushed the dirt of this version of the game from the 2001/2002 season from Sports Interactive's Championship Manager series for the PC - argued by many as being one of the best versions, despite it's lack of graphical improvement from the previous season…this time round though the gameplay seems to be better.
First off, and something ... ...b) you know nothing about Championship Manager……but hey, this is a lesson, not just a review…so sit back, you'll learn something!!
Once installed, the game is your oyster. You can choose from a vast number of leagues to take part in or follow - despite the obvious possibilities of following the English and Scottish leagues, you can go as far and obscure as feasible possibly when choosing 'big' national football leagues - such as Turkey, Norway, ...

...fed up of waiting for Championship Manager 02/03 I decided I might as well write an op on a game I have been playing for almost a year and a half. I doubt there is a football fan in this country who has not played or at least heard of this series of games. The first edition of this legendary series was released in 1992 and now 10 years on the game has become one of the best selling PC games.
The series is the brainchild of Paul and Mark Collyer ... ...So there we go that's Championship Manager which is a superb game and well worth buying although this season's game should be out next month bigger and better than this so maybe wait for that although you should be able to get this cheap.
Of course it is a game that can consume large amounts of your time I mean I’ve seen myself sitting in a traffic jam on the way home from work thinking:
