I have always wanted to write a review about something that I have strong negative feelings about and Chanel No 5 fits the bill perfectly. Let me tell you how and why.

Chanel No 5 may have been around for years and be classed as a luxury and timeless fragrance, but my nosebuds (copyright - my invented word) absolutely detest it. Imagine my horror then when my expected YSL turned out to be a humungous bottle of the vile stuff. Oh no, my heart sank into my fluffy pink slippers. Of these two, the Chanel is without a doubt my favourite. Evening or daytime, casual or formal Chanel No.5 works for me.
Chanel No.5 has been around for a long time. Coco Chanel (famous fashion designer of the 1920’s) introduced this perfume to the world in 1923. I use it, my mother uses it, and I recently found out that my Grandmother used it for many years until she died too. The Outer packaging is usually primarily White with Black lettering and gold highlights. The Inner packaging may be black or white with the opposite colour used for any writing and again, with gold used as a highlight.

...to name one perfume by Chanel and you can bet your bottom dollar that No5 will be the first that comes to mind. Immortalized by Marilyn Monroe, who when asked what she wore in bed smiled and said " Number 5". Chanel No5, the grande dame of perfume is well into her 80's now having first been created way back in 1921 by Ernest Beaux. It's hard to imagine that this timeless classic worn by millions of woman in this decade could also be classed as a ... ...it that on presenting Coco Chanel a range of different perfumes to chose as her first perfume she did not hesitate in picking the perfume known only as perfume number 5. Soon to be immortalized as Chanel No5 and 80 years on still one of the best selling perfumes in this country.

Advantages: Still a winner after all these years Disadvantages: Pricey (very!)
...is not so much about Chanel No 5 the perfume (although rest assured I will be mentioning it!) but the relatively recently released "Purse Packs".
These little packs contain a 15ml purse spray together with two 15ml refills. The spray itself is the perfect size for most handbags, being just 10.5cm (about 4 inches) high and 2cm (0.75 inch) wide. The bottle is glass with a gold top and a gold lid which has the double-C Chanel logo embossed into the ... ...also has that very satisfying Chanel "click" as it closes - one of my favourite things about Chanel products!! (Yes, I know I'm shallow!) The refills are not as long as the main spray but also have a small gold lid (without the logo).
The three bottles are sold in a perspex case which looks smart enough itself to be displayed on a dressing table. The main spray is in the middle with the two refills either side wrapped in pale pink plastic netting ...

...important, if you’ve never tried Chanel No5, DO NOT BUY IT UNTIL YOU’VE TESTED IT. This may seem a bit pedantic but I’m only telling you so you don’t waste your money buying a perfume which, when worn, may not suit you. I love the smell of Coco in the bottle, but whenever I try to wear it, it smells like cat pee. That’s the thing with perfumes. They really do smell different on different people. Now, why should you buy, or even test No5? Because ... ...if it’s a choice between Chanel and food, it’s gonna be a tough one.
Chanel products are rarely found discounted. This means it keeps its integrity. What that means in plain English, is that it keeps it’s ‘snob’ value. It also means bargains are few and far between. ...is one I know well. Chanel no5 has got to be the most perfume in the world. The French have long been known for producing the best fragrances, and Coco Chanel, produced several perfumes. She revolutionised the women’s fashion world in the 1920’s and again in the 50’s. Chanel no.5 appeared in 1923 and it’s been going strong ever since. Isn't it delicious, my boyfriend bought me the body satin spray, whilst in france watching the Le mans race. It is wonderful, especially after a nice hot bath in chanel no.5 body gel. The spray is very easy to apply and you need only a very small amount, at first it feels quite oily, but once it has been massaged into the skin it feels great. My skin has never felt so soft and moisturised.
THe bottle describes it as "Innovative continuous ... ...lingering elegant fragrance of world-renowned Chanel No.5".
Instructions for use "Mist onto still-damp skin after bath or shower; massage in with gentle circular motion".
I would recommend this product to any women, it is wonderful. And to all men out there you must buy this product for your wifes/girlfriends/mistresses they will appreciate it!! ...

It may be one of the older perfumes on the market, but you know what you are getting when you buy this perfume. I was first introduced ot it by a friend who bought it for me as a gift. Chanel No 5 was introduced by Coco Chanel (a well known fashion designer), back in 1923. It’s been around such a long time, I’m sure almost everybody has bought it, tried it or at least heard of it. Size
Available in a variety of sizes including 35 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml.
Variety
Available to purchase as an eau de parfum or eau de toilette.
Other varieties of this brand include: Talc, soaps, lotions, ... ...of a lipstick, with the Chanel logo emblazoned on it, along with simple instructions of how to refill your existing Chanel no 5 bottle. Cost
Pretty expensive, depending on where bought and size purchased. Normally anything around £30 and upwards.
Quality
Little is best; with just a couple of squirts is enough to last several hours. Chanel no 5 is a very recognisable scent and has excellent staying power, ideal for any occasion and excellent value ...
