Advantages Advantages Accurate replica prop with cool noises and lights

Disadvantages Disadvantages Occasional defective stock, keep your receipt

The sonic screwdriver is a prop that has served the Doctor well for over 40 years, first appearing in 1966's adventure Fury From the Deep. Originally it was just what the name implied - a tool that unscrewed things using sound waves - but it quickly evolved in the hands of Jon Pertwee to be the Doctor's magic wand, a landmine-detecting, cell-escaping, lock-fusing wonder device. When Doctor Who returned to our screens in 2005, most of its complicated backstory had been quietly ditched (or at least not mentioned) but the sonic screwdriver was still firmly in the Doctor's hand. I always wanted a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great for hero worship

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little bit of a rip off

I recently bought this item as a birthday present, since The Doctor has had a dramatic surge in popularity especially, with younger viewers. I have always liked Dr Who, but the latest escapades of the illustrious time traveller are by far the best, the storylines are exceptional and the production is far better than the olden days. You will if you have been clever enough to watch the recent series have noticed that he uses his sonic screwdriver a lot more frequently than he has done in the past. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of a sonic screwdriver, it is a device used by the ... more

Advantages Advantages True Sound Effects and Lights

Disadvantages Disadvantages The UV Ink runs out fast.

My Sister really thinks that this is a marvelous bit of Doctor Who kit. She liked the look of this item and was desperate to have one that she bought this for herself, after having going through all the shops in the area to find one in stock. It always seems to be in her trousers and goes out with her most times, yes she truely is a Doctor fan. Any Doctor Who merchandise that is out she has to look at and this item is quite a clever one, (not just a one week wonder) you can use the light as your mini torch (useful for powercuts or seeing to get your key in car lock in pitch black, well if ... more

Advantages Advantages Two pen options, 2 sound effects, extendable top section.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages not very heavy.

The Sonic Screwdriver is the iconic piece of kit that the Doctor carries with him, and never fails to get him out of a jam... So why would anyone not want to own one? Unfortunately it is only a replica of a fictional device, but still having one and pretending is fun. Personally love this item, it has two sounds which cycle between each other. The top section expands making it longer,as seen in a few episodes. You may recall the episode with the Master regenerated and stole the TARDIS and the doctor extended the screwdriver and locked down the TARDIS. The product itself has in interchangeable ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, Realistic and Easy to work

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small parts can go missing, Battrys and Expensice

Lovely little toy to play with and poke around at freinds, i'm 19 and i use mine on a regular basis, and have done for over a year. As an avid Whovian (Doctor Who fan) I can tell its very accurate to the TV version. The battrys of mine eventualy died down after a year. it still worked but the sound was weak and the light was dim. new battrys fixed that right up and now its going as good as ever, the newer ones come with some Psychic Paper too which is another bonus. When it comes down to it my advice is that if you are a fan of the show you should and a fan enough to want to consider buying ... more
