I recently bought this item as a birthday present, since The Doctor has had a dramatic surge in popularity especially, with younger viewers. I have always liked Dr Who, but the latest escapades of the illustrious time traveller are by far the best, the storylines are exceptional and the production is far better than the olden days. My Sister really thinks that this is a marvelous bit of Doctor Who kit. She liked the look of this item and was desperate to have one that she bought this for herself, after having going through all the shops in the area to find one in stock. It always seems to be in her trousers and goes out with her most times, yes she truely is a Doctor fan. The Sonic Screwdriver is the iconic piece of kit that the Doctor carries with him, and never fails to get him out of a jam... So why would anyone not want to own one? Unfortunately it is only a replica of a fictional device, but still having one and pretending is fun. Personally love this item, it has two sounds which cycle between each other. The top section expands making it longer,as seen in a few episodes. Lovely little toy to play with and poke around at freinds, i'm 19 and i use mine on a regular basis, and have done for over a year. As an avid Whovian (Doctor Who fan) I can tell its very accurate to the TV version. The battrys of mine eventualy died down after a year. it still worked but the sound was weak and the light was dim. new battrys fixed that right up and now its going as good as ever, the newer ones come with some Psychic Paper too which is another bonus.
