Advantages Advantages Choose the right one

    Disadvantages Disadvantages needles or not!

Well it that time of year when millions of families are sending their partner up into the dark recesses of lofts everywhere to get down their Christmas Tree Decorations or The Christmas Tree itself. Husband normally comes down itching like mad as all the fibre stuff in the loft is now stuck to him and he ends up in the bath. Never mind at least I have got my stuff all ready and waiting to decorate my beloved Christmas Trees. You can never beat the fresh smell of a Christmas Tree in your home and some people still like a real one or a potted one and some prefer artificial ones, so in this ... more

Advantages Advantages Saving lives (of trees)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite a lot of are needed

It’s not only turkeys have to die for Christmas! Perhaps fortunately for our forests, there is a growing (and worthy) trend towards buying live trees for Christmas. Unfortunately, Garden Centres, and even more so the DIY sheds and superstores, have jumped on this bandwagon by selling potted trees. What’s wrong with that? Read on. Potted trees have been dug out of the ground a week or two earlier, they’ve had their roots hacked back to fit in a pot, and they have no more chance of surviving beyond Christmas than the conventional cut tree. What you must find is a pot-grown tree. Reputable ... more

Advantages Advantages Lets not kill a tree for Christmas - give it a chance.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It will probably die anyway, and if not it will take over your garden.

There is now an enviro-friendly, and very worthy, trend towards buying a Christmas tree with roots. It hasn't been killed! So you can plant it in the garden afterwards. So what's the problem. Well, there are several . . . Firstly, check with your Garden Centre that the tree has been pot-grown, not just dug up and potted. The latter are (or should be)sold as "potted" trees, but most people don't realise the difference. A potted tree has the same chance of survival as a cut tree, because the roots have been destroyed in the process. It's a bit of a con, really. If you do succeed in finding and ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice looking decorations - good for businesses selling such goods

Disadvantages Disadvantages can cause a lot of strife for many husbands (and wives) around the country

Every year when the season to be jolly gets near there are sinister changes in the atmosphere around many suburbs around the country. It is a known fact that christmas rage is upon us! Who has the best christmas tree? The biggest set of lights? It strikes every year and there seems to be no cure. Personally i have a great love for christmas time and decorate my tree as best i can each year. The differance is i do it for me! There is ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to try and keep up with the Jones' this year. Why not relax a little this year and just enjoy the season! ~chris ... more

Advantages Advantages look lovely all dressed up

Disadvantages Disadvantages what size, what decorations.......

Christmas Trees, real, not real, big, tall, short small, which one do you buy? We only have a small tree at home which we bought last year from Woolies for £3.99 and its brilliant. All branches are on wires so you can move them around and close them all up when you've finished. No smell to it on first opening the packet, but slight plastic smell up close. Very authentic and very good value for money. Decorations for our tree came from Wilkinsons all very, very reasonably priced, tinsel £1, pack of 20 silver boubles £1.50 and cheap fairy lights at £1.99. Unlike our tree at work. 6ft tree, not ... more

Advantages Advantages Prices and sizes Differ

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pines falls off real ones, no natural pine smell on fake ones.

The heart of all holiday decorating is with the beloved Christmas tree, which represents spiritual inspiration and a wonderful family tradition and to decorate the tree with garland, beads and ornaments. Topping it all off with a beautiful tree-topper, star, or angel. (Real Trees) As retailers gear up for another season of record-breaking sales, they offer more choices in types, styles and colours of trees. Whether you're looking for a real or artificial tree, the decision is not an easy one and with the costs involved, you will want to make the right choice. Depending on how detailed you want ... more

Advantages Advantages No mess to clean up and no little feet and knees with bits of pine

Disadvantages Disadvantages My Grandson would like Blue maybe they will manufacture one half Pink half Blue

This is the First Christmas for my two Granddaughters. As they have just started crawling I decided not to buy a real tree and I purchased a PINK Christmas tree. It looks so much fun and I can not wait take lots of photo’s of the girls round the tree. The only downside is I will have to buy a blue one for my grandson next year I have also purchased Gold Decorations for the tree and I am making pink velvet ribbons. The little empty match boxes I am going to wrap in Green Glitter paper and for the final touch I will add White Tinsel and Ice Drop lights. I know this will not be to everyones taste ... more

    Advantages Advantages Beautiful

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Messy

On their own, Real Christmas trees are some of the most boring things on the planet. They do nothing. They are all green and are not nice to look at as they are ugly and you are not mesmorised by them. When they are decorated though they are absolutly beautiful. They sparkle and you could just sit in your living room stariing at them for hours and hours. The best things to put on them are flashing lights and baubles with an angel at the top. They are in a word fantastic. The thing about them though is that they are extremely messy. They sit in your front room falling apart. The pine needles ... more
