Masters of all they survey?

Advantages: Pay real money, usually easy to complete
Disadvantages: They're out to get information for nothing

...in a survey however, and Ciao might pay you a couple of quid - or more - for 20 minutes' minimal effort. That suggests to me that our responses to surveys matter more to Ciao than our reviews. Other evidence bears this out. The site pulls in most of its new members with the promise of earning cash for surveys. Even I still occasionally get emails with offers like "Join Ciao and win an iPod Nano". Which not only makes me wonder how aware Ciao are ...
...probably quite unusual. For most, Ciao equals surveys. Ciao, and its recently-arrived parent company Greenfield, use that equation to sell themselves to business clients. They make no secret of this. The Ciao Help Centre page is clear about the company's principal purpose: "On behalf of its business customers, Ciao GmbH conducts online surveys of consumers for market research purposes... The Company serves many of the world's leading market research ...

Start of a slippery slope?

Advantages: Lets you earn some extra cash
Disadvantages: Can be infuriating

...of the "Die hard Loyal Ciao fans", however in recent times I have become a little dismayed with the survey side of Ciao. My little winge consists of two parts. The first one is the amount of money that is being paid to members for carrying out these surveys. The second concern is the amount of information that is obtained during the so called "Screening Process". <><><><><><> PAYMENTS <><><><><><> As well as carrying out surveys for Ciao, I ...
...I first started doing reviews, with Ciao, I was very impressed with the site. The surveys sent were regular and in general the time taken to complete the survey was reflected in the price paid. I have noticed now for some time that the payment versus the time taken ratio has moved in opposite directions. It has now become very much the norm for surveys to take 20 - 30 minutes for a measly 30 odd pence. My observations have further been highlighted ...

More Questions than Answers

Advantages: Sounds like Easy Money
Disadvantages: Can be dissapointing / annoying

...When you have been on Ciao for a while you will start to get emails from Ciao inviting you to take part in surveys, on a random range of subjects, from electrical goods, advertising, breakfast cereal etc. In fact the selection in theory is not so random as the surveys you are sent are supposed to reflect the information you provide in your member profile, where you give information to Ciao about your hobbies, interests etc. they use this information ...
...in the guise of a Ciao survey. All you need to do is click on the link in the email and this will take you to the survey page, where you will begin the first part of the survey, the screening. Screening This is the part of the survey I hate more than the survey it'self. It's a mini survey and it's a CON. They ask you all kinds of screening questions to see if you are suitable to take part in the main survey, questions like age, Gender, Marital ...

Why do I even bother?

Advantages: Can get paid for minimal effort?
Disadvantages: Few and far between | Hardly ever get to finish them.

When I first joined Ciao in 2002, it was not to write reviews, in fact I didn't even realise that you could take part in that side of the site. No, I joined Ciao after receiving an email telling me how I could make my fortune by being paid to complete surveys that they sent me. At the time I joined, even if you didn't complete the surveys you could get paid a nominal amount just for being told you did not qualify, I can't tell you when this changed, ...
...to receive invites to the Ciao surveys the first thing you're going to have to do is…..actually join Ciao. This is a simple enough process, all you need to do is look at the top this page and click on the "Join Ciao" link and fill in the details requested, remembering to leave the box asking if you want to earn money from surveys checked as yes. If the "Join Ciao" link is not there then you're already a member, so you'll have already done this bit, ...

Ciao Surveys, it's not as bad as it was.

Advantages: Fairly good payouts, prize draw for not being able to finish surveys
Disadvantages: Big variation in payouts, can take a very long time to get money

I've been on Ciao for getting on for 3 years now, and once I really got into it, I found it to be a useful little flow of money. More recently though when the "Ciao Beta" started, with very poor rewards, made up with prize draw entries that paid out big, but with little chance of winning, I was concerned this was the beginning of the end. Then came the split between the surveys and the opinions, with surveys basically following the lines of the beta. ...
...are improving. The new Ciao surveys doesn't seem quite up to what the old site was. Survey invites are down, chances of qualifying seem down, and average payouts are down. Then again, I'm a member of a number of other paid survey sites, and the same applies to all of them. Another site for example that pays out in Amazon vouchers, I used to get one about once every 2 months, now it's more like 3 months. The main thing with Ciao at the moment though ...

Whats all the fuss about?

Advantages: Surveys a relevant to recpients and money is paid straight into ciao account.
Disadvantages: few and far between for most people, and payment is quite unreliable

Ciao surveys have been slagged off a bit in the review section I have noticed (maybe by newcomers who have found they havn't recieved as many survey offers as they expected) so I decided I woud try to shed some sort of light on the whole topic with my own experiences of 'ciao surveys'. Firtstly, its important that you realise you've got to sign up to take part in the surveys. This is done in our 'my ciao' section where you just tick a little box ...
...people commenting on this service. Ciao is actually quite organised in comparison to other survey distributors (despite it being the companies that send you the surveys) as they only send you surveys which you are eligible for under the companies preference. This is determined with your 'interest profiles' found at the side on 'my ciao' under 'account balance'. When you fill in all the sections of this ciao uses the information to filter through ...

Our Survey Said...

Advantages: Easy to complete, cash to be earned
Disadvantages: Sporadic allocation and availability

...looked to the receipt of Ciao surveys as a substitute for the loss in earnings that they had enjoyed up until then. I have read a number of reviews since then that have dismissed the concept as an earnings opportunity, based on the fact that you never get any. A novice to the site could therefore be forgiven for knowing nothing about the subject, so here’s the low down on what Ciao Surveys are all about, and my experience of them. WHAT ARE ...
...what they are all about. Ciao surveys are research questionnaires sent out to a selection of registered Ciao members, dependant on their profiles and interests. Some surveys do not pay a fee – others can pay fees of as much as £25. Other surveys will entail becoming a trial customer for another business, and may attract other rewards and remuneration from the individual business concerned. Ciao surveys are occasionally used by the site owners ...

The Lowdown on PAID CIAO SURVEYS (2007 UPDATE)

Advantages: most take only few minutes, direct payment to ciao account, no junk mail
Disadvantages: sometimes profiles don't match, some surveys are time-limited and get full, technical problems

Since the new Ciao re-design in November 2003 this opinion has been updated in 2004,2005, 2006 & 2007. Whether you are a new or old member reading this opinion one of the best part sof Ciao is the availability of Ciao Surveys has nothing to do with your activity or length of membership on the site. So fear not, new members you too can qualify to receive surveys based upon your interests and get paid just for a few minutes of your time. Although ...

...of badly written reviews about Ciao surveys on this site. Perhaps because they are witan by newcomers who were introduced to Ciao by the surveys then discovered the reviews. I must admit this was the case with me. I am sure I found Ciao via a list of survey sites as I was addicted to them at the time and a member of a few of them. ...I have enough experience of Ciao and the surveys to write a decent opinion. My main objective of this review is to see how our dear Ciao does surveys match up to other internet consumer survey sites? What are Ciao surveys? Ciao surveys are an integral part of Ciao as they raise income for the site to pay for our premium fund prizes (well this is my guess). They do this (with our permission as you have to tick a box saying you want to receive the ...

Paid Surveys at Ciao!

Advantages: regular surveys, £5 Minimum payout
Disadvantages: low incentive for most long surveys

Signed up to 'Ciao Surveys' when I started trying out several survey sites a few months ago. The site is free to join and open to members over 14 years of age and UK residents for the UK version of the site. I signed up free and waited for surveys to come in which they did. They are mostly product surveys which are normally the longer ones and there are some general surveys too. Though 'Ciao Surveys' is a reputable site, it turned out to be a huge ...
...good number of surveys per week but they all seem to be £0.10p surveys that are often rather repetitive and after attempting those in the first few months, I decided to stop doing them as they are rather too long and not worth the incentive given; that is if you even make it past the screening process! I have also received a few £1.50, £2, £3 surveys but never quailfy for those and then you're re-directed to another survey with a less amount. On ...

...been a member here at Ciao now since December, 2000, and have to date received a grand total of £15.95 in payment for my participation in online surveys at the site. To break it down a bit, this works out at just a little less than £1 a month on average. Alls I want for my Birthday is a CIAO SURVEY

Advantages: Some extra earnings, Fun to particpate in.

...Yes folks, it’s my Ciao Birthday, 12 months of Ciaoing and I’m still here, but just about, so I thought I would ask Ciao for a birthday present, so here goes.
