...experience so far. I joined Citibank back in January 2007 after falling out with Halifax Bank of Scotland. I wanted a bank that allowed me access to my money when I wanted it, had decent online banking facilities, and had 24hr telephone banking. I looked around the market and started researching many accounts in the end I decided on Citibank. ===Accounts===
I was only interest in full current accounts; I wanted free banking with the option to have ... ...to complete which would allow Citibank to go to HBOS my existing bank and get all details of my direct debits and standing orders. I have to be honest I was very worried that they would mess this up. I could not afford for them to get this wrong. I sat and filled in the form and posted it back and that was the last I had to deal with it. Ok back in to the welcome pack is my rather shiny new Visa debit card and in another letter which came the following ...

Advantages: International felxibility for your funds between uk and usa possible Disadvantages: Extremely poor customer service
I opened up a citibank account because I shall be requiring the flexibility to tranfer funds easily between the UK and the US.

I initially used the Interciti service. This allows transfers to be made to other European branches of Citibank free of charge, and funds being received the same day. However, I have recently discovered how easy it is to ...

...strongly recommend against opening a citibank account, and if you have one, then my recommendation would be to close it.
Recently a cheque for £5,000 went missing after it was payed in at a Lloyds branch (this is how you pay money into citibank accounts). I called citibank, but they were uninterested and advised that all they could suggest was that I chased Lloyds. Not them then? No sir.
They also offered to send me a new telephone pin number since ... ...send it. Instead they cancelled my e-pin, thereby shutting off my web access, and effectively my whole bank account. I called again. I told them that I had chased Lloyds and located the whereabouts of my cheque for them. I told them I couldn't access my bank account ...
