Advantages: Atomic time-keeping, solar powered, 200m WR Disadvantages: Not the lightest of watches
Citizen Skyhawk A-T Eco-drive watch, model no JY0000-53E.
At the time of writing, this watch is the top of the Skyhawk model range, Citizen's take on aviation themed watches. In addition to the usual Skyhawk features, the A-T model synchronises with the atomic clock signal. As well as being able to receive the European signal, it can also be trained to the USA and Japan time signals by setting the relevant time zone - an advantage over some of the ... ...is a chunky design with a stainless steel bracelet and base contrasting the black face and rotating slide rule bezel. The hands are metallic with luminous inserts, and all the hour markers also contain the luminous inserts. The watch weighs in at 178g (on our digital kitchen scales) and the glass is 34mm diameter, with the watch 47mm wide and 14mm deep (note: all measurements taken with a shatter resistant ruler and Mk 1 eyeball). Overall, for such ...

Advantages: Solar driven watch, no battery required. Disadvantages: None that I know of.
...to buy myself an eco-driven citizen watch. An eco-drive watch uses light energy to run itself. The light source can be sun (solar) or an incandescent lamp (such as in an office environment). The watch uses a solar panel, in this case, its the face dial, to convert light into electrical energy which is stored in a special energy cell. This allows the watch to last a long time without seeing any light, suitable for those of us who hibernate (Ha!); ... ...wearing long sleeve clothes or just forgetting to charge it up.
According to my manual, under direct sunlight on a sunny summer day, my watch requires 3 minutes to charge for a 1-day usage, 26 minutes to charge from stop state to the one second movement (I'll explain what this is later), and 11 hours to charge from empty to full. In an office environment, it will take 2 hours to charge for a 1-day usage, 41 hours from stop state to the one second ...

Advantages: Technical features, no batteries, accurate, good looking, Japanese Disadvantages: None at present
...pleased when I heard that Citizen has introduced a solar powered watch range. One of my work colleagues already had one & was very pleased with it.
It sounded too good to be true, as long as the watch is kept in natural or indoor light it will work, put the watch in a closed cupboard or drawer & after a few days it will stop, only to restart again when it is taken back into light.
The movement is made in Japan, a country that only sells goods to ... ...silent.
I purchased a Citizen Calibre 8651 watch from an internet site called Timedon for £275.00, about £60.00 less than normal retail price & a further £7.50 from my local Citizen dealer to have the bracelet adjusted to suit my wrist. This was in July 2006 & since then it has worked perfectly.
This watch is elegant, features a moon phase dial & instead of a normal view window for calendar function it has two separte small dials within the face ...

Advantages: charges constantly when its in the light Disadvantages: i work at night and usually dont see the light
...christmas and bought me the Citizen Ecodrive Charm bracelet watch. It's one which has been advertised quite alot in womens magazines, and it is very pretty and a bit different.
The bracelet is a basic silver coloured bracelet, attatched are five small handbag charms, one is plain silver colour, the other four have stones in different design 'handbags', the colours are pink, blue, yellow and clear. The watch itself is a slightly larger handbag shapewith ... ...be testing to its limits. Citizen claim they should last around 10 years before the solar battery needs replacing. In the 18 months since I got the first of my ecodrive watches it hasn't once slowed or stopped despite spending fairly long periods put away in its box, I guess the claims that it remains charged for a long time is accurate.
My only real problem is the watch doesn't have a water resistance rating on it that I can find, the instruction ...

Advantages: fast delivery, first class customer service Disadvantages: none to be honest
i've recently ordered the Citizen Eco-Drive Watch for my father online and found both the product and the company i ordered from to be top class. The delivery was next day, and it was free too (which makes a nice change) and the old man really liked his present too, so all in all, a good experience. I have to recommend the company i purchased from, as i found them very helpful when i called them to find out more information about delivery, and returns ... ...it's self i've been told is very comfortable and feels natural when wearing, it's heavy enough due to the quality, but light enough to not get in the way. The gold remains to be as shiny today as it was when i brought the item (over 3 months ago) and the face isn't scratched, even though the watch is worn every day and not just for special occasions. ...

Advantages: Solar powered/Never needs a battery Disadvantages: None
I bought my Citizen Eco-Drive ladies bracelet two-tone watch just about a year ago. I don't remember the model number. Anyway, it's a great watch. I've washed my hands with it on, gotten little sprinkles of water on it. I've dropped it on the floor many times and it just keeps on ticking. I paid about $95.00 (about 73.00 EUR) for it and I'm totally satisfied. I charged it the first time I got it and it hasn't stopped yet. I even left it in a dark ... ...it) and it didn't stop. It doesn't have a second hand, but the minute hand is supposed to move back and forth or something when it needs light. I'm not sure because I've never had to deal with that situation. Great, durable, yet classy looking little watch for any occasion. ...

(+) Arguably the best looking mens watch ever. Large clear display, Solar powered,Enough functions to keep you informed/amused forever. (-) Not G-Shock nor Atomic clock (via radio signal) contolled. You certainly need instuctions here as well.
