Advantages: Cute, versatile, reasonable price Disadvantages: Not much to make a fuss about
...and I stumbled into the Citroen dealer.
Looks and Body :
===================
The vehicle looks cute. The double side slide doors and the choice of tail hatch or a double door tail gate is neat. The sleek design gives the impression of a very low friction coefficient. Only if the engine could match that...
The "half-on-the-curb-test" proved the body had a minimal twist. Good...
Panel clearances and trim assembly is good.
Tail lights could have ... ...named as "Partner". (PSA is Citroen and Peugeot merged remember ?) But the Partner is a more basic model meant for commercial use. The Berlingo is seemingly meant for family use...
I recommend this vehicle as a second car for families where the lady of the household will drive the weekdays and the whole family on weekends. No vehicle for a he-man though... Happy motoring folks... ...

Advantages: Roomy cargo area and passenger area, good diesal engine, never let us down to date Disadvantages: basic, everyday, not a lot else!
We have had our citroen Berling van estate 1.9d for 1 and a half years, it has proven to be a very reliable vehicle.
VALUE
=========
These vans are not very expensive new, roughly £10,000, but i am not sure.
Second, they are great, the Berlingo is a very good van for not a lot too much brass.
The one we own was seconda hand, and is a company vehicle, but i do know that the van was little over 2 years old when bought, and they paid rougly £5500 ... ...i can honestly say this citroen is reliable.
It is the second citroen we hav owned in the last 6 years, we had a little AX supermini, and that also shone as a good reliable car.
We are starting to be very content with outr citroens, they are proving to be excellent cars, built to a good high standard.
The van has a 1.9d diesel engine, which is very ecomical, and cost a few pence per mile, nott poor remotely! infact excellent!

Advantages: Excellent family car Disadvantages: Basic funtionality
I have owned this car for nearly two and a half years now and after some initial teething troubles I am more than satisfied. We bought the car because we were expecting our first child.
We looked around but couldn't find a car to match it for size and space. We read a few reviews and it seemed to do better than the Kangoo and the Fiat version. And for the price it is brilliant.
We opted for the Modutop extra whic is fantastic. It gives the idea ... ...for charging mobiles or powering gameboys/DVD players). It also gives some extra light via 5 smoked glass panels and a circulation fan to provide some air to the back passengers. This is a must have and really makes this car fantastic.
I am over 6ft tall and have always squeezed into cars no matter how large. But this is the first car where I can just sit in, it's great. Also the driving position gives a great field of view and I can see through ...

Advantages: Versatile and Economical Disadvantages: Limited load space
I have been very pleased with my Berlingo Multispace. My daughter originally bought the vehicle in 2003 - she had three children at the time and needed a versatile MPV for driving them to and from school.
We researched several different makes and models before deciding on the Berlingo.
It is very easy to drive, the fuel consumption is very good (600 miles easily on a full tank), the five-speed gearbox keeps the rev counter quite low even at high ... ...There is excellent visibility all round - the shape of the vehicle lends itself favourably to this. The sliding side doors make access very easy even in tight parking spaces.
My daughter has since upgraded (increase in family size) and I have had the vehicle for the past two years.
Initially the main use was simply getting from A to B but latterly I started using it for business and here it has come into its own.
The rear storage area is more ...

...from new. Went into Citroen to look at a Picasso but it felt very claustophobic. My wife saw a Multispace in the showroom and suggested we have a look. I said I'm not driving a van, but, after a few minutes of nagging, agreed reluctantly to a test-drive.
The vision from inside is tremendous, on a posh car they'd call it panoramic. I was immediately taken by how surpisingly comfortable it was and easy to drive. Being a diesel, it's not as quiet as ... ...even though diesel is more pricey, the fuel economy is good. Road tax is £145 for the CO2 emissions. Low insurance grouping as well. There's no alarm but it's not the sort of car thieves go for.
There are lots of nooks and crannys for storage and drop down tables in the back for the kids. If you have young children, the sliding doors in the rear are a god-send if you have to open the door road-side. The seats are higher in the back and is easier ...

Let's face it, this site is all about honesty and potentially helping others with their desicion making and purchases... so I am going give MY honest opinion, even though others will not agree!
I bought this car for its practicality... 2 children (5 and 10 years) and a golden retriever dog, plus 2 adults. In the front and back there are storage areas which are always more than useful. It drives relatively well although I am disappointed with the steering lock. I have a newish model with exatrs such as automatic windscreen wipers etc. some people may like these options, however I never use them! I hate the position of the window controls in the front - I find it completely unpractical to have to reach to the dash board to put ...

Advantages: Plenty of leg room, comfortable for driver and passengers. Disadvantages: Slow in acceleration
The car takes a bit of getting used to, when first purchased. It looks kind of comly. However, you soon get used to the look, once you start to drive the car. It has a choice of roof types, which I quite liked, as you can indorporate games etc. within the car. It is easily repaired, when dented and has been accompished on my car, within ten minutes, through sucking the dent out (with equipment via the garage, of course - my mouth is not that big!)
... ...this car. If I fill the tank full of diesel, I can travel approximately 600 miles without re-fuelling. The car sits high off if the ground, and has a nice wide screen for great visibility; which I appreciate now that I am getting older.
However, I am constantly reminded not to drive it like a sports car. It does not have the fast acceleration, and I have to remind myself, before changing gear, to look at the revolutions counter.
All, in all, a ...

Advantages: Lots of luggage space, very flexible, cheap to buy and run Disadvantages: Hard jostly ride at time, rattles develop with age revealing its van roots!
We bought our Berlingo as a family car but as my wife runs a small business from home we also needed our car to double as a van. The Berlingo has the largest loading space of any comparable domestic vehicle and is great value for money. The diesel engine is powerful enough to still have acceleration even when fully laden but remains the most economical in the range. The Berlingo boot space is immense and eats luggage - no more worries about what ... ...the seats folded down the Berlingo reveals its van roots and the sliding rear side doors are great for loading and unloading (also no need to worry about your kids winging the door open into other cars in a car par - a nice bonus!). ...elsewhere I decided that the Citroen 'Bling' 1.9D would be the ideal vehicle. I bought the vehicle for three reasons: The first was the economy, the second was the size and the third reason was that I'm familiar with the mechanicals of the vehicle.
The Citroen Berlingo features a Peugeot 306 engine and gearbox at the front, mounted on a 306 subframe.
At the back of the vehicle is a Peugeot 405 rear axle assembly. Both are tried and trusted and ... ...regarded as possibly the most reliable in the business. I was sure that I was on to a winner...how wrong I was.
I bought the car from a dealer and had 2000 trouble free miles. The car handled well, started every time and was really economical. I was really enjoying being a berlingo owner!
Unfortunately, the problems then started.
In the space of a week the car had broken down three times...every single time with a fuel injection problem. To their ...

Advantages: good space, economical, reliable, good workhorse Disadvantages: new vans cost a lot
...I used to have a Citroen C25 but as this got 10 years old I wanted to exchange it for a new van before I started getting some expensive repair bills. I had had 9 years faultless serice from my Citroen C25 so I was slanted in the Citroen direction because of the years of brilliant service I had got from this. Also I expected to be offered a better part exchange deal from a Citroen dealer as it was a Citroen van I was taking in. I looked at the Citroen ... ...released a couple of years. Citroen offered me a very favourable exchange offer and I decided to take a Berlingo. I took the middle trim option. It was in dark blue (green, silver, white are also available and also for an extra cost metallic paint is available). It has a 1.9 litre diesel engine that will run and run forever. The fuel economy is very good, I have been saving a fortune over my 2.5 litre C25. It comes with drivers air bag as standard ...

Advantages: Great for business and family use with loads of space Disadvantages: Not for someone who is bothered by looks!
My husband has a delivery business and we also have 2 young children. We used to have a van and a car but running them both was expensive so we decided to buy the Multispace. I am not technically minded at all so this review is more about the practicality of the car.
This is a great all round vehicle with plenty of space for goods and even more space for the family. The rear seat has 3 separate belts and headrests and even with 2 child seats there ... ...seat. The rear doors slide open and the seats are high so it is easy to get the kids in, without breaking your back!
There are storage spaces all over the place - under the floor in the back, over the windshield in the dashboard, somewhere to put toys, papers, cups and sweets.
The new shape is much better looking than the old, inside and out and the ride is really smooth. The gear stick has been raised slightly so it is less like a van to drive. ...

Advantages: Spacious, Useful, Cheap, Reliable Disadvantages: Poor Performance, Looks a bit like postman pat van
IF you get one of these in red you would straight away look like you were working for Royal Mail. If looks is what you are after then steer well clear of this car. If you want a practical family car with plenty of space and ease of use then snap one up as soon as you can.

I have read the revews on this van and i agree with them apart from one point.I think you should know this if you are thinking of geting this van.Around town or when it as a load on this van handels very well. But when it is unloaded because of how high it sits off the road it is not that safe.I used to drive one of theas vans and did over 70,000 miles in it.then one day i was driving along at 50 mph on th M42.I hit a oil pach and whent into a slight ... ...to pull it out but because of how light it is when unloaded i did not stand a chance
