The New Boy in my life (opps sorry my partners)

Advantages: Great road handling and very eco friendly
Disadvantages: only one - no door on storage area

...bumpers & wing mirrors. The Citroen emblem – 2 silver arrows pointing upwards stand out at the front of the bonnet and compliment the sleekness of the built-in headlights and indicator case. The large windscreen has just one large wiper blade that has the usually settings. The rear of the car is fairly short but the boat space is adequate and the tidiness of the whole car makes it a pleasant little car to look at. ***Inside – I was surprised by ...
...legs - so well done Citroen for the space factor. I will say that the leg room in the back is obviously not as roomy as the front but it is adequate for the size of the car. The seats are very comfortable. They are a soft black, padded fabric that support your back well. The front seats can be manoeuvred easily forward/backwards via a handle on the bottom side of each seat. Both front and rear seats have adjustable headrests that can also be lifted ...

Our own car cost £7100 including the extra cost of metallic paint and the discount of £500 which was offered for September 2006, but lacks air conditioning C1 is really just one of a set of triplets, together with Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107. Life's Too Short

Advantages: Cheap good looking spacious little car with good MPG
Disadvantages: Price isn't everything

...to do with a baby Citroen you ask? Well within a few miles of my first ever drive in our little courtesy car I couldn't help wondering why on earth people buy something that feels like it dropped out of the last century? Why, when there's all these other things you could spend your money on would you want to invest in something that has all creature-comforts of a wheelbarrow? And it's this exploration of the seemingly unfathomable quandary to which ...
...So you could buy something else, anything else, and spend the rest on a good holiday. Life's too short to invest your hard earned cash in what's essentially a compromise and I'm sorry the Citroen C1, however cheap, is rubbish value for money. Thanks for reading Rob ...

Citroen C1: It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it

Advantages: Epic fuel economy
Disadvantages: Uncomfortably loud on the motor way

...and chearful run about, the Citroen C1 should be a contender. I own a Vibe in red which is the bottom of the range model. Features, or lack of. Electric windows, Electric mirrors, Central locking, Air con, are just some of the things this car doesn't have. Which I do miss, but it does keep costs down. Although the integrated CD player and mp3 input are a great touch. The rear window wiper is adequate and another nice touch. As I have the three door ...
...I was told by the Citroen garage to expect that and it seems to be a design flaw. The sound system is adequate around town but when you have to turn it up on the motorway sound quality suffers. Boot space is very small but the back seats fold down at a pull of two cords. Fuel economy is almost awe inspiring, the manufacturer quotes on average 62miles to the gallon, and if your careful, you can get from Plymouth to Harlow (271) miles on less than ...

...towing etc. & had a Citroen Picasso for everyday use but with a daughter who will be 17 soon and the hoo-ha about climate change felt I should get something more morally acceptable to use when a big vehicle isn't needed. So what car to get? Checked the DVLA site for emissions info and narrowed it down to the Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo & the Peugot version, all essentially the same car. I was used to driving a Citroen and had never had any trouble with ...
...I bought one! We chose the the 3 door, no frills basic Vibe; a 5 speed manual petrol version in Red. The salesman was a delight, didn't try to get us to upgrade at all, and agreed it would be a perfect "learner car" for our daughter. I expected to hate driving such a little car but I love it, my daughter loves it and my husband finds it "quirky". The C1 is surprisingly spacious in the front and not too bad in the back although I wouldn't recommend ...

Citroen C1 - A joy to own with car tax of just £35 per year!

Advantages: Cheap car to run and a nippy little run around car for short journeys.
Disadvantages: Slow up hills and impossible to overtake anything faster than a tractor!

...one advantage of owning a Citroen C1. They are easy to park being so small and warm up nice and quick in the winter! It is certainly cheap enough to run. The only thing I would say about this car is that is you have been used to driving a car with a bigger engine you do get a little frustrated with the 1 litre engine. It is nippy around town and on short runs, but hills and overtaking can be a little tricky. Also fuel consumption on the motorways ...

One of the best small cars ever, cheap and looks amazing!

Advantages: Smart and cheap to run
Disadvantages: Doesnt come with glovebox lid as standard.

I currently own a Citroen C1 VTR in metallic Carlinite Grey and I love it. It is very comfortable inside and quite spacious to say it is small. The interior may be cheap but it is rather funky and looks modern. The boot is quite small, but for a girl, I just use the back seats to put all my shopping on. The car comes in quite a few colours e.g. black grey, silver, red, electric blue and mica green. They all suit the car no matter what colour you ...
...run, the tax for the year is about £35, and it costs on average £30 for a full tank which gets me 400 miles when driven economically. The downsides for me is that the car as standard comes with no glovebox lid, no rear speakers, the standard headunit isn't the best of quality. It is ok if you aren't bothered about music in your car, but if you enjoy listening to music whilst your driving, then it may need uprating or just better speakers put in. ...

Style without the price tag

Advantages: Cheap, reliable, aux jack in FM radio, fuel efficient
Disadvantages: No glovebox, very limited boot space, slow to pick up speed

The main reason I decided to buy this car back at the start of last year is because my 16 year old Vauxhall Nova suddenly packed in and the insurance company said it wouldn't be worth their while repairing it. When I was looking for a new car i wanted something which was quite cheap, and this immediately caught my eye. You can get one of these cars for around £6000 for the most basic model (around £4000 if you use the government scrappage scheme), ...
...for a new car. As is noticable from the picture, the exterior of the car is very eye-catching. It looks small and compact and a variety of colours are available for you to choose from. These include metallic grey, red and black, amongst others. Looking at this car from the exterior, it is easy to think that you and your passengers will be packed like sardines inside, but this honestly is not the case. There's an adjustable steering column, so you ...

Tacky springs to mind. The trim inside does look cheap on closer inspection( red or chrome depending on exterior colour -high gloss trim inserts on the Airplay) but overall the interior is very astheticaly pleasing and quality is really quite good for such a cheap car.The stereo is of reasonable quality and the Ipod nano and docking station is a nice ...

Quick review of Citroen C1

I have had my C1 for 12 months now and have had no problems at all. It is only a 2 door but as I have no children I do not need a 4 door. It is very cheap to run, good fuel economy, 35 POUNDS A YEAR ROAD TAX and my fully comp insurance was very cheap also. Would have liked a glove box as there is no place to hide things from view, just a shelf. The back window seemed to be constantly dirty but my husband has now fitted Citroen mud flaps for 27 pounds so hope that solves the problem. A very good little car for the money ...

Citroen C1 - Vibe

Advantages: Cheap to buy and insure, nippy and very economical with fuel!
Disadvantages: No central locking on the basic model!

Recently my R reg Citroen Saxo decided that it had had enough and finally gave up on me. I was therefore confronted with the task of searching for another car. I needed something that was cheap to buy and cheap to insure, (as i am a 23 year old man!) It didn't take me long to come across the Citreon C1. The body and most of the interior is exactly the same as the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota Aygo. To look at it is very nice and it is also very nice ...
...nippy when pulling off and can pick up speed quite quickly. It is also the most economic car when it comes to fuel i have ever driven!!!! All in all, i am very happy with my purchase. The only downsides are as follows, (although these are all because i bought the basic, and cheapest, model.) It only comes in red!! It has NO CENTRAL LOCKING!?!? surely all cars have this by now!! It has not got electric windows!! However, if you can deal with this ...

Advantages: V. inexpensive to run, Parking a doddle, Fun
Disadvantages: It's not a Lotus for the price of a C1 !!

After a year of expensive repair bills and an anticipated large bill for MOT pass, we decided to look into replacing the car. 5 yr finance and a small deposit meant we'd spend less in a year for the purchase than the repairs totall for past year. Not forgetting the £35 Road tax for the year, v. inexpensive fully comp insurance and the decisions were made easy. All of the things we expected to compromise on, we didn't. We do manage approx 4/5 plastic carriers or 3 + a bumper pack of loo rolls + a box of wine. In addition, the 2 seat belts provided in the rear means there is always ample space for the kids' stuff to ride with them, whether that's the teddy, the picnic, the spare cardi or the nintendo ds bag. We bought in ...

Amazing Little Car

Advantages: Very economical, low road tax (£40 per year), easy to park
Disadvantages: Slightly noisy because it has 3 cylinders

The Citroen C1 is new on the market so you don't see many around.I loved this car as soon as I saw it. I have the 3-door version.Don't be fooled by its small size as there is far more room inside than you would expect. The front seats slide back and forward very easily, unlike some which tend to stick and require brute force to get them to move. There is only one guage on the dashboard which incorporates the speedometer, fuel guage and all the other ...

The lights, indicators and windscreen wipers are all in the usual places and easy ti use. Despite it's small engine 998cc, I had no problem cruising at 70mph on the dual carriageway. However, as could be expected with a car this size, when carrying 2 or 3 passengers speed was reduced. The makers claim an average mpg of 61.4, but as I've ...

...cheap quality, my firm bought Citroen C2s. I've heard that the C1 may start burning or even explode if hit in the back. The C1 is prone to rollovers due to problems with stability. A thing I hate about the C1 is the cheap doors - a part of each door is upholstered, the upper parts of the doors however are uncovered with upholstery which looks very cheap. The trunk is too small by all standards. The 1.1 engine is too underpowered. The backseats are ...

Citroen C1 and its sisters

Advantages: fuel-efficient
Disadvantages: too many

The Peugeot 107, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo are all popular among the general public. Funky, cheeky and fuel-efficient, all of them suffer from some serious and several minor, but annoying problems. Many owners report that the plastic panels on the doors develop humps. Plastics are as cheap as one may expect. The boot is heavily criticised due to water leaks. The door mechanism of the boot can easily be damaged. Many complain that airbags of the ...
