Advantages: Lack of road noise, interesting shape, roomy. Disadvantages: Too many faults, disappointing suspension, oil leaks, poor dealer support
...As a replacement for the Xantia, the C5 seemed to have a lot going for it, and it IS competent in some areas, but sadly, it is badly let down by too many faults and (for me) an indifferent dealer. I most certainly will not be buying Citroen again. ...

Quick review of Citroen C5 2.0 HDi Estate
After 60,000 miles relativly trouble free driving -comfortable, roomy and powerful enough and 40mpg. apart from the road noise, my 2 big problems are:
(1) the drivers seat which has NO lateral support (I am not particularly thin!) and:
(2) the fixed toe-in that causes the rear tyres (£120 each) to wear bald on the outer side with none on the inner -front tyres last about 30,000 miles with my driving but the rear were almost bald on the outer side, untouched inner, by this tme. On the Xantia est. I did not have to replace rear tyres for 90,000 miles.
No support from the dealer on this front. ...

Quick review of Citroen C5 2.0 HDi Estate

It cannot be trusted in overtaking manouvers and is very scary on motorways. Must agree with an earlier posting - the ride is POOR, worse than the old Citroen ZX and that had normakl suspension. Very disappointing compared to the old GSA's. ...
