Cheap and cheerful car- Saxo is reliable and economic.

Advantages: Very economical to run, responsive, handles well, fits into tight parking spaces.
Disadvantages: No central locking, can be uncomfortable on long distances.

The Citroen Saxo 1.0 is the car currently sitting on my driveway and is my first ever car. I have been driving for just over a year now and I have no burning desire to upgrade yet. Why? Because the Saxo is incredibly efficient in many ways and is perfect for someone watching their bank balance in these tough economic times. First of all, my car is unmodified and will stay that way whilst I am the owner. This brings me on to the issue of reputation. ...
...of plastic stuck on them and can be seen as an undesirable car. Don't let this put you off. If you look after it, it is a great little runner. I have never had any problems with my car. I get the Saxo serviced at my local garage which is down a tiny street where parking is an issue. Not for me though. The Saxo is a small car and can fit into tighter spaces. It does not have power steering which is not a problem as you get a feel for the car, it handles ...

Saxo....the whole deal.

Advantages: Great First Car, Cheap Insurance, Pretty Reliable, Cheap late plates.
Disadvantages: A 5 year slump, high end acceleration

The entry level Saxo from Citroen is a brilliant car for a first time buyer. With a top speed topping just over 108mph, and inner city fuel consumption at about 45mpg+, and on the lowest tax bracket, the Saxo 1.0 is perfect for a first time / young driver. The handling is very responsive, and for a car with no poer steering, it is very light. The cabin is very spacious for such a small "super mini", but with a not so spacious, yet still confortable ...
...but don't expect to be going very fast with a full load. Get a rolling start on lights, so you aren't holding up that cyclist behind you. The bite on the clutch is very nicely set, and is pretty nippy between 0-50, however, top end acceleration 50-70 is pretty labouring. The footwell is pretty spacious on the drivers side, but with a very high left foot rest, makes keeping your foot above the clutch a much better idea. The boot space is nothing ...

Citroen saxo 1.0i

Advantages: Cheap to run, no problems with them.
Disadvantages: not much space in the back.

The Citroen saxo 1.0i is a great little car for a young person who has just pass their test, i have always loved this car when they first come out in 1996. The little 1.0i engine is a small engine but is still a nippy car around town. It is good for petrol it don't drink that much but the style of the standed one looks abit boring. The boot is big enough to get a good lot of shopping in there or your speakers if you like them in there. The saxo ...
...^ sunroof ^ front spot lights ^ allow wheels ^ cd player just a tape/cassette player ^ body kits stuff like that but that don't matter because its still a good little car and cheap and Reliable. they hold their price well, but if you want something better like faster and better looking then go for the VTR OR VTS. ...

Saxo spree 1.0L

Advantages: Nippy around town, fuel economy, decent starter car
Disadvantages: Lacks above 50mph,

I have had my saxo spree 4, 1.0L for about 8 months now and it is a good little runner, it is nippy around town and handles well, even if the steering can be a little heavy round corners sometimes. The petrol consumption is ok, it does about 48 miles to the gallon for me, but im not always light on the accelerator, so this is fairly good. The car is quick from 0-50 (well quick for a 1.0) but above this it takes its time...0-50 takes about ten seconds ...
...in mine, because of the change to third gear...also if you want to get above 70 at all...dont put a body kit on it and do out all the sound system as i have done because this added loads of weight to the car, which is probably why mine take 15.64 seconds to get to 60. The most i have got out of my car is 85mph and this was pushing it, could probably get it to 90mph if you gave me an extra 10 minutes...but you never really need to go this fast unless ...

A Brief and Short Reviews of Citroen Saxo

Advantages: superb fuel economic, value of money, low maintainance cost, sporty
Disadvantages: slightly poor handling, less room space for passenger

I just bought a Citroen Saxo 1.1SX (1996, P reg), 2 weeks ago. The most satisfied of this car is the fuel consumptions level, no matter you are in city or non-city driving, it still the leading compared with rivals like Renautl Clio 1.2, Vauxhall Corsa 1.2, and Fiat punto 1.2, Ford Fiesta 1.3, etc. I managed to get a ride about 120 miles just for 10 pounds petrol price ( It was 95.9 per liter at that time). For the comfortable, it slightly poor due ...
...this much of features but citroen saxo really do. You can get all of this with your budget car. In addiction, it is very easy to maintain and parts is easy available in the market. physically of this car, it looks sporty and more "youngster feeling" instead of a family car riding. it has a sleek design throughout and confidence with its reliability. overall of it, i would highly recommend for those who are looking for a superb economical and practical ...

A decent runner

Advantages: Cheap to run, reliable, ideal first car
Disadvantages: Low power, no passenger airbag, no power steering

A decent runner. Iv'e had the car for 3 years now and I generally very pleased with it. It has basic safety equipment but still better than some older cars - 5 seatbelts and a driver airbag. I think it could also benefit from having a passenger airbag, as could all cars. As for comfort, it's not bad at all. Soft seats in both the front and the back. They're not too hard where it makes your backside numb after a long drive. It's always comfortable. ...
...but still not bad. Mine also has a yellow gear knob and door locks as well as different colour seatbelts! Which is quite cool, and I think a standard. There are a couple of things I would change about the car. The main thing being the steering. Due to it being 1.0 ltr and under (mine is 954 cc!!!) it doesn't have power steering - I was told that only the 1.4 ltr and above have this I do believe. The steering can be VERY heavy at times, especially ...

Great secondhand buy

Advantages: Reliable, positive handling, economical
Disadvantages: lack of acceleration for motorway driving

This limited edition Saxo is at the budget end of the selection with a 1.1 litre engine and a basic interior. The Ltd edition status equates to a CD player, driver's airbag and small decals. Being a fan of small cars and not wishing to compete with the Mondeo brigade, I selected this little runabout 3 years ago as my lease car. In that time I have completed over 70,000 miles. In that time the car has been 100% reliable with only the CD player needing ...
...(Not sure if this is my driving style of a tribute to Michelin build quality). The ride is firm and sure and 80 can be a confortable cruising speed (when legal). This little gem shows no sign of giving up and with a full service history included, I would highly recommend considering looking at one as a good first car and a reliable second. Models used as lease cars will be rare but privately owned ones wil have lower mileage. Bon Voyage! ...

The Citreon Saxo (1.0 Ltr First)

Advantages: Cheap to run, excelent service team at the citreon garages, very few problems, great for round town driving.
Disadvantages: Lack of performance at higher speeds, suffers greatly with a full load of people.

This car will serve you well round town as it is very economical. You should expect to get around 50 miles per gallon. Performance around town is more than adequate, with the nippyness you'll need to get away from the traffic lights. Its small size also means its ideal for squeezing into those tight spaces with ease. On the motorway and it will cruise along nicely at 70 - 80mph, but start to demand more and it will struggle. Overall this is a car ...
