Advantages Advantages People are getting wise to them

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very naff ads

Sky Television has a lot to answer for these days with its particularly nasty brand of advertising. They’ve got two sorts of evil campaigns on at the moment and if you’ve spent more than about five minutes on Sky you can’t have missed them. The first concerns debt consolidation companies and they’re bad enough. What is even more prevalent and nasty, however, is the horde of companies trying to persuade you that “if you’ve had a slip or trip or any form of accident, someone is to blame and XXXX can help you. You won’t have to pay a penny unless we win ... more

The Advert in question is that bloomin' annoying Claims Direct "compensation advert" bleating things like "If you've been hurt in an accident, you may be entitled to compensation. Mrs Wiggle called us after she fell over a leaf. With our help, Mrs Wiggle won £6,148 pounds compensation from her local council, who were thick enough to allow the leaf to fall in the first place." Wonder what would happen if I tried to sue them for harrassment... Telephone Person (TP): Hello, Claims Direct. Me: Hello, I'd like to sue somebody please. TP: Okay. Who'd you like to sue? Me: You. TP: Me?? Me: No, your ... more

    Advantages Advantages None at ALL

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dont even go there, I would be here all day, Cheesy, Cheap, Annoying, etc

Argh, No more, no I haven’t flipped my lid, although if I see another one of those “Claims Direct” adverts, I just might do that. I mean these adverts have got to be the cheesiest, most pathetic and most regularly shown adverts in the history of TV advertising, and I hate them. So, what are the “Claims Direct” adverts? Well, if I need to tell you that, you really have been off this planet, or maybe you’ve just been out of the country, so I’ll let you off. Anyway, on to the adverts, firstly we had poor little Declan Swann, you remember, the poor kid who ... more

If you fancy the chance of making a bit of easy money, forget Ciao, forget paid to surf, don't even bother signing up for the latest pyramid scheme scam. Just think of a good angle and call claims direct! For a simple outlay of nothing they will take some hapless person to court on your behalf in the search for compensation. The "compensation culture" has taken a long time to build in this country. In America this has long been a problem, car insurance and liability insurance are both expensive items, but very necessary. ~~~ We Are Encouraged to Claim !~~~ Here in England things are now ... more

So you want to make some serious money? Don’t want to work for it of course, but don’t mind cheating a little. Well this sounds right up your street. Remember a few months back when you had a pint or two of snakebite too many and woke up the next morning with a mouth like a gorillas armpit and your memory of the night before a little hazy? Remember how your ankle hurt really, really badly and you thought that it would be better if you stayed off work? Remember that really, really loose paving stone that you tripped over quite accidentally, (not when you were showing your friends ... more

    Advantages Advantages NONE!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying adverts, aired too much, bad company

Have you had an accident or fall in the last 3 years? If so call Claims Direct and help household insurance, car insurance, etc. all go through the roof and let a dirty, law-bending company line their pockets with gold. I have had no experience with Claims Direct but having seen loads of their terrible and annoying adverts I know that I would NEVER use Claims Direct, the Accident Group or any other of those so-called legal companies. Claims Direct have had various adverts. One even made them look like a charity!! The advert showed how Claims Direct “helped” a young child who was seriously ... more

Advantages Advantages Helping make legal aid accessable, I suppose.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying, repetitive, manipulative advert

Well, I am very surprised that I am the first to write an opinion under this particular heading, due to the amount of (negative) press that there has been surrounding this particular company in the recent past. Anyone who watches television more than once a year at Christmas will have seen the advert to which I am referring to in the title of this opinion numerous times, I have no doubt. Despite my best wishes being to switch off generally when commercial breaks hit the airwaves, this much I have managed to glean from the advert: Declan Swann is a young child who suffered an accident some time ... more

Advantages Advantages None, when you consider the other options available

Disadvantages Disadvantages A whopping chunk of your compensation deducted as a fee

Whenever I see the Claims Direct advert it really makes me cringe. If you ignore the rather cheap production values and concentrate on the message then this firm can seem to provide a very valuable service. No Win No Fee! Mrs Such & Such gets £10,000! Yes, it all seems very helpful if you have had the misfortune of being injured in an accident. But what's the catch? Yes, there is a catch. Claims Direct, in common with many other companies of this nature will simply refuse to take on a claim unless the circumstances dictate that they will definitely win. Then we come to the size of the fee ... more

Advantages Advantages Good if you fancy trying to get some money for scratchcards and you're on the dole.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unethical, sharks, no win-no fee-major aggro

At the moment we have a particularly nasty kind of advert on the TV. In the past I used to whinge about ads that where just plain cheesy, but now I have ads that I am able to complain about and actually feel justified - the 'Let Us Sue the World For You' ads. Claims Direct, Accident Bureaux and the like are all the most unethical adverts I have ever seen, and are promoting the 'sue everyone' attitude. Lets disect the average ad. Shown on telly during the daytime which is also known as DoleTime telly, you have a single parent who's kid (that I shall call Little Timmy) pops over to the ... more

Advantages Advantages Can help injured People

Disadvantages Disadvantages Its cheap and awful

I really hate the stupid, cheap and nasty claims direct adverts. The same stupid advert is shown every time the adverts are shown. I wonder why claims direct have invested so little in their advertising campaign. Its most probably because they are unsuccessful. I reckon that Declan swan advert cost about £2000. The actors are damn right awful. My 5-year-old sister sounds more Persuasive than those stupid wannabe actors in there cheap peacock suits. I feel sorry for Declan and Ms Swan who were unfortunate enough to be in this advert. I hope they got paid a large some of the advert budget which ... more
