HAIR WARS - THE PHANTOM BADGER

Advantages: Smells lovely
Disadvantages: Where do I start? Leaves hair dull, limp and feeling like straw

...Today I’ll be reviewing Clairol Herbal Essences Conditioner, when I say reviewing, I actually mean slating it!! The conditioner was bought over 12 months ago and has sat in my bathroom since then. The reason it was dropped into my basket was due to the special offer it was on with the shampoo of the same name for £2.49 for the two which I considered a bargin. The Herbal Essences range is available from all supermarkets and surprisingly can be found ...
...a cream bottle with a green lid and contains 250ml of the said product so it is actually smaller than most other conditioners in the same target grouping. The packaging really does build this conditioner up, stating that it contains a botanical shine complex that mousturises normal hair and leaves it feeling luxuriously soft and silky with radiant shine. The reason for this is apparently due to the natural organic herbs and botanicals that are contained ...

The Origin Of The Word 'Pong'

Advantages: Works well, leaves hair easy to manage
Disadvantages: Tacky packaging, and smelly product

...and a mini bottle of Clairol Herbal Essences (hereafter known as HE) was just one of these. Some people clean their house the day before their cleaner comes round. I don’t (to both cleaning my house, ever, and having a cleaner) but occasionally in the run up to a hairdressers appointment, I might start taking better care of my hair. I’ve been using a cheap conditioner for a few months, but I’d noticed a difference in my hair so ...
...I wanted something a bit more expensive (not pricey pricey, just more than 55p a bottle) but since I decided this on a Saturday night when all the shops were shut for a good 36 hours, I had to use something in the cupboard, ergo HE got tried. I don’t know why, but I really dislike the packaging. It just looks cheap and badly designed to me, and doesn’t appeal in any way, shape or form. Plus the top comes totally off when you unscrew ...

I will say this only once ....

Advantages: Lovely smell, does the job
Disadvantages: None so far

As you know if you have read my opinion about Herbal Essence shampoo (and if you haven’t – why not?) I had 50ml bottles of the shampoo and conditioner as free samples ordered from www.herbalessences.com I was very impressed and wrote an opinion about the shampoo, but now I have a problem. I want to write an opinion about the conditioner too, but I have recently been criticized for using the same wording on two separate opinions about the same sort ...
...extent. Anyway just for the purists amongst you I shall endeavour not to repeat words from the first opinion unless I absolutely have to! I shall obviously need to use the words ‘Herbal Essences’ and such like as changing the product name would make the opinion a bit silly wouldn’t it? The conditioner is the Herbal Essences Moisturising Conditioner for Normal Hair. Whether you consider me ‘normal’ or not is quite another matter. It came in a container ...

TRY ME IM READY AND WAITING.

Advantages: See op.
Disadvantages: None

I rarely go to the bother of looking for a conditioner, as my hair seems to be as in good as condition as it could possibly get. It wasn’t until last week. I picked up this by accident mistaking it for the shampoo not conditioner. Oh well I just had to make do with my Headstrong which had been lurking around the bathroom for months. I have used many of the herbal essences range and found this to be one of the best I’ve tried. I like ...
...The shampoo smells like many in the Herbal Essences range, it smells very fresh and natural. The contents, which perfume this shampoo, are sage and Jasmine and soy protein in mountain fresh water. Most of the Herbal Essences range smells very similar to me but very nice anyhow. The Bottle. The Bottle is plastic and is pale green, with a dark green lid to represent the plants, which this shampoo is based around. The shampoo I guess is based around ...

SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE GET THEIR FREEBIES FROM CLAIROL

Advantages: It leaves hair feeling and looking soft and shiny, at the moment Clairol are giving away free samples but hurry as offer ends 30th November 2002
Disadvantages: I haven't come across any yet

...Hair. It is made by Clairol and contains Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Jojoba in Mountain Spring Water. The sample sized conditioner is contained within a 45 ml bottle, which is a good size as it allows you to try the product at least 3-4 times to see if it actually suits your hair - I've found in the past that the free trial sachets I have been sent by other manufacturers don't really contain enough for me to form an accurate opinion about the product ...

The reverse of the packaging again contains a transparent label which ...

Do You Have The URGE

Advantages: Smells absolutely gorgeous, leaves hair feeling beautifully soft and silky
Disadvantages: As with many beauty products it’s overpriced

Whenever I think of Herbal Essences, I cannot help but recall the television advertisement for the product – which consists of a court room scene with a woman going crazy over the gorgeous feel and scent of her hair, after apparently washing it with Clairol’s Herbal Essences. The judge calls out ‘order, order!’ which the viewer soon realises means ‘order’ in the purchasing sense. It’s both a striking and ...
...men (admittedly this is slowly changing) and solemn proceedings and so this display of female self-indulgence can be interpreted as almost blasphemous. It wasn’t however this advert which enticed me to buy a Herbal Essences conditioner, it was the bargain price of just a pound that I found it for in a shop in Plymouth today. As my hair has been dyed a few times and is still recovering from the chemical treatment, I decided to go for the ‘moisturising’ ...

According to the bottle I should feel giddy with delight!

Advantages: Good smell, Makes your hair soft
Disadvantages: Feels slimy on your hair, and doesnt really give a "dazzling shine"

I bought this conditioner after it being on offer in my local supermarket, so i thought i would try it since its publicized a lot for giving good results. On the bottle (different from the picture) it said: * For normal hair * Dazzling Shine * berry, tea and orange flower extracts It also said that it would give me twinkling hair and I may even feel giddy with delight when using it, Oh.. I did feel giddy, as it smelt rather good! When i opened ...
...it smelt of berry, tea and orange flower, but it did smell really really nice! I was expecting my hair to have a dazzling shine like the bottle said, but i wouldnt call it "dazzling". I dont dye my hair, so i was expecting at least some sort of shine. It took a while to wash out, as it felt quite slimy, even though i was convinced it was all washed out. Even thought I was quite disappointed with the shine, my hair did feel very very soft after ...

Doesn't exactly do what it says on the bottle

Advantages: Smells lovely
Disadvantages: Left my hair knotty, and feeling like straw

I'm a real sucker for offers at the supermarket and my choice of Shampoo & Conditioner is nearly always based on the current buy on get on free. Normally this works out fine, not this time. It pains me to admit that I have been a victim of an advertising campaign, a very one at that! I saw the Herbal Essenses offer and immediately thought.....hmmmm great smelling hair. ...have long, naturally curly, thick hair and really need a good conditioner if I'm going to be able to brush it after washing. A good quarter of an hour later I was still wincing in agony, trying to get the tangles out and removing a great deal of hair from my head in the process. Once that was achieved, (now very red eyed and cross) I tried drying my hair with a diffuser which normally gives me lovely bouncing curls...... I ended up with a straight, ...

Herbal essences conditioner review

Advantages: Nice smell, good for sensitive scalps, organic
Disadvantages: Leaves hair strawy if not left on for correct time, pricey

I use this product reguarly along with the corresponding shampoo & due to the fact I have an extremely sensitive scalp it works a treat. I can only really use this and the 'simple' shampoos range, which are often quite hard to get hold of (the only placed I have found this is boots and its quite expensive for a student in there...). I really like the smell - its really lovely fresh and flowery / fruity. The packagings OK, and on most of the bottles ...
...flowers on the back of the bottle etc. It leaves my hair really shiny - the only disadvantage to it is the price, I think its quite pricey as its often £2 for a small bottle, but I am a student so there you go and the fact that sometimes if you dont leave it on long enough (a min) which I rarely do as I often wake up far too late and have little time in the shower, your hair can feel a bit strawy! But if you do leave it on for the correct time its ...

smells good

Advantages: Hair is left soft and with a great lasting smell
Disadvantages: None that I can find!!!

Well being half west indian as you can imagine my hair can be quite a handful. I can't brush my hair when it's dry, I've even broken brushes when I've tried to do this. So all that I can do is use a good conditioner to soften it. Herbal essenses does this as well as smelling extemely scrummy!!! Over the years I've used practically every conditioner on the market and they have all failed I've used this conditioner for 2 yrs now and I know it works, ...

Smell, but not much else.

Advantages: Scent
Disadvantages: No particular effect on the hair

Well, it smells good, but that's about it. I have very long thick hair and so I've tried plenty of conditioners, and I don't think I'd purchase this one again. The price is one advantage it has, but I personally prefer to be cheap about shampoo (it's just mostly detergent and it rinses out anyway) and splurge on conditioner, which stays on the hair and nourishes it a bit longer. As with any product it depends what you're looking for. It certainly ...

Clairol Herbal Essences Conditioner Normal Hair

Advantages: Great smell, great result.
Disadvantages: Can leave build-up if used too often.

I first tried this conditioner because I've always loved the Herbal Essences range, and unlike the anti-dandruff shampoo, the conditioner had pleasing results. It moisturises my hair wonderfully, and smells great. However, I did notice that if I use too much, or use it too often, a grease-like build-up occurs. Just a small amount is needed every other wash to keep your hair moisturised and in great condition. I think that it costs around £2.19 ...
