WHAT COLOUR SHOULD I CHOOSE?
********************************************
There are a few things to consider when dyeing your hair. First, what is your natural colour? It's never a good idea to use a home hair-dye ... ...you can afford the hairdresser's prices, go for a colour within two shades of your natural one. Secondly, you also should consider your skin tone. Most people have either pink-toned skin or yellow-toned skin. This applies to black skin too, but you'll have a different choice of colours which suit you. Have a close look in a mirror in front of a window. People with pink-toned skin should choose warm colours such as reds, mahoganies, or could choose ...

...this reason, I chose the Clairol nice n easy range. The image of this brand, like most others, is one of care and nourishment so I thought I might as well give it a go.
This product promises Long-lasting, beautiful colour full of depth, dimension and shine working with your tones and highlights for the most natural colour for you.

The nice n easy range has by far the most diverse collection of shades, so there is bound to be something ... ...colours to name them all, but as an example, colours I have used in the past include 102 ash blonde, 101 baby blonde and 106 medium ash blonde. Just look at my profile picture to see the type of shade this produces. A box of the hair dye costs around £4.75, which is about average compared to other brands. It retails in almost all chemists and supermarkets and is quite often part of a buy one get one free promotion. There are three levels of hair ...

...against.
I haven't tried a Clairol Nice and Easy for years and as I looked along the available colours I saw one called golden brown. I have light brown hair with more that its fair share of grey, in fact to be truthful underneath near the roots my hair is white.
I feel that you have to be very careful with your choice of hair colour as you reach a certain age, its no good flinging yourself headlong into the fashionable vibrant colour range. The ... ...what so ever.
The Clairol Nice and Easy does have the strength to cover grey hair and it does leave the hair looking natural. The semi-permanent colour will last approximately 24 washes and costs around £4.
The whole process is quick and easy, make sure that you use an old towel as the colourant stains the towel. I didn't find that the colour stained my skin and I had no irritation at all.
Depending on your hair you may not have to leave the colorant ...

Advantages: Does exactly what it says on the packet Disadvantages: Make sure you follow the instructions properly
...across a magazine advertisement for Clairol - "Make the most of your natural beauty" it said - I was hooked! But even so - Clairol produce five different products. I read through their descriptions and really was none the wiser but then I noticed at the bottom - "For personalised hair colour advice call a Clairol consultant". So I did.
I explained my predicament - or a shortened version of it. The consultant asked lots of sensible questions, explained ... ...- if in doubt the Clairol consultant recommended choosing a lighter colour as it is then easier to make it darker if you require.
There are so many chemicals listed on the side of the box that they had to continue the list on the bottom of the box - I didn't look too closely - there are some things a girl doesn't need to know!
**Instructions**
The four page instructions are in English and Dutch and very clearly laid out. The first thing they recommend ...

Advantages: covers grey well, leaves hair shiny, easy to use, can apply to dry hair (less mess!) Disadvantages: smells disgusting, looks disgusting
I've got 40 minutes to kill on Ciao at the moment, cos my hair is piled up on top of my head, and I have the oldest towel I could find draped around my shoulders. Since I realised last week that I'm going so grey that I really need to do something about it, I checked Ciao (as you do) to see what the top hair colourants were, and Clairol's Nice and Easy came out at number 2 (pretty good recommendation I'd say) and cost me only £5.69. Price was probably ... ...to claim my soft toy at Boots, and so even though this is often available on special offer for less, I paid the full 5.69 and got a cuddly dolphin thrown in. (they were all out of moles.) The shade I picked is called 141 deep natural medium brown (which is pretty much my original hair colour, minus the grey.) But the bit that really caught my eye was the "Extra Grey Coverage Formula". Hurrah! Bye bye prematurely aging granny lookalike, hello Catherine ...

...and my favourite brand is Clairol Nice ‘n’ Easy. These days I tend to go for the subtle shades and I am at the age where the grey hairs are starting to appear so I like to keep these well covered. I don’t usually pay the full price of £5.69 as I wait until it is on special offer in Boots and I bought it last week for £3.79. Boots usually have a good choice of colours in Blonde, Red, Brunette and Black. Each box on display shows ... ...shade. So it is easy to see what the colour is likely to be. Each colour is clearly marked on the front and the top of the box with the name of the shade and a number. This is ideal if you want to use the same colour again as you can either write the name and number down or keep the top of the box.
The box also shows you what colour hair the shade is suitable for and gives a picture showing the before and after colour results. It gives a brief description ...

Before using you are advised to mix a little of the mixture 48 hours before to test your skin is not sensitive to this and also to do a strand test to give you an idea of what the resultant colour will be and how long to leave it on for. Advantages: Just as good as a salon at a fraction of the price Disadvantages: You have to deal with the mess
Clairol Nice'n Easy has been updated since the last review was written and it seems they have improved on an excel;lent product.
I have been colouring my hair for over 10 years since I first noticed a few grey hairs. Now whenever my roots start to show I reach for the bottle. Last week Superdrug were offering 2 packs of Nice'n Easy for £7. £3.50 for coloured hair or £40 in a salon........no contest! I do not take much notice of packaging when I've heard of the brand and the price is right.

Advantages: Cheers you up Disadvantages: Once you start coulouring your hair its hard to stop
I've just been into town and whilst in Safeways, bought myself a packet of Nice n Easy hair colour.
I chose Natural light golden brown as I have fair hair and this works good with my natural colour.
I am sat here with it on while I write this op.
The packet is white with a picture of a woman with loverly long golden brown hair on the front. With the words Nice n Easy written across the box in dark blue.
This cost me 2.99p on offer in the store.
... ...I just like colouring my hair for the change.
It can last from 6-8 weeks, 24 shampoos, or you can leave it on for the full time allowed for a permanent haircolouring.
Its always best to do a strand test before you go for the full colour change and this is done by applying the mixture to a strand of hair and leaving it on for 20 mins, you can leave it on for 45 mins if you want a more deeper colour.
When you are suited with your choice, you can ...

I had my original dark blond hair with some red and dark brown stripes in it for years. I was bored of it, so I planned to colour it to dark brown. I went to Sainsbury's and looked at the available products and their prices. Clariol nice 'n easy was 4.57 pounds. Next time I went to Sainsbury's it was on offer, 33% cheaper. For better result use it on greasy hair, and do not colour your hair when you ...

...pharmacies. At the moment, Clairol are trying to push their New and Improved Nice 'n Easy and so in a lot of shops it is 'buy two for £7'. Usually it's about £4.50 per dye which is a bargain in comparison with £6,000,000 that you would pay your hairdresser!
The range of colours is amazing. With 34 colours, it really does cater for all 'natural' colours from #84 'Ultra light natural blonde' to #142 'Dark Brown'. You want it, it's got it. Advantages: TAKES TEN MINS TO DYE HAIR Disadvantages: NOTHING
When Nice 'n Easy introduced their Perfect 10 hair dye range I admit I was a little too excited. Now women could be a little more spontaneous. Women and men could have their hair two colours in twenty minutes. At first I was a little skeptic, how could it be possible that a hair dye could take ten minutes to colour a full head of hair when most hair dyes take forty five minutes? So you could say I didn't get my hopes up, I was presuming it would ... ...as well give it a try. The perfect 10 is £6.99 which is a little quid more than the normal nice n easy range, but paying that little bit extra to get quicker results isn't so bad, especially if you're impatient like me. The perfect 10 has its own website which you can look at the shades on and see customer reviews, this is very helpful as I've noticed some hair dyes have all terrible reviews, so it's better to learn which ones are good and bad before ...
