Advantages: Covers grey, adequate blending of colour. Disadvantages: Not enough mixture for all of roots & V expensive
...so I thought I would Clairol ‘Nice ‘n Easy’ Root Touch Up a go. Clairol produce 12 colouring blending shades for root touch-up and it can be quite baffling when faced with them all but the box does have a Colour Result Guide on the side of it to show what result to expect depending upon your existing hair colour, a great help to us amateurs. What I think is particularly good is that it gives you ‘matches’ with other brands:
~ L’Oreal Excellence
... ...For example the medium brown that I plumped for would match L’Oreal’s ‘Natural Brown’, Garnier Nutrisse ‘Medium Brown’ and Garnier Belle Color’s ‘Brown’.
§ What do you get? §
Inside the box:
~ Tube of permanent colour creme
~ Plastic bottle of colour activating lotion
~ One mixing and applicator bush
~ A plastic dish in which to mix the crème and the lotion
~ Pair of disposable plastic gloves which come in a card holder, very much like you ...

I have been colouring my hair now for longer than I can remember. Its a bit of a chore and something I don't particularly look forward to, but due to a few stray greys starting to make an appearance, I don't want to look or feel older than I possibly have to!
I have tried lots of different brands over the years, but have recently been using Superdrugs own, as I tried it once on impulse and the colour and shine was lovely, and it is only £2.99.Bargain!!
... ...a Superdrug store near me, so I have to wait until I go into a larger town which is 10 miles away.
It was about 5 weeks since I'd coloured my hair, and although the regrowth wasn't blatantly obvious, as the colour I use is more or less the same shade as my natural colour anyway, there was a few shiny greys at the root shouting 'Hi, look at me'!
Thinking I could put it off until my next trip into town, lo and behold, I was invited out to a bit of ...

Advantages: Really good idea, easy to use Disadvantages: Could start getting expensive for regular users
((Next time I buy a box of this I will fill in any gaps in the review as i don't have the box in front of me right now.))
I've been using Nice n Easy hair colour for a couple of months now, ever since my naturally blonde hair played a cruel trick on me and turned mousey! My mum does it for me and I've got such thick hair that she always misses the roots, and my hair grows like lightning anyway! As I happened to be in Tesco the other day, I had a ... ...enough change to buy the root touch up rather than another box of colour. It comes in the same style of box as the full hair dyes, just a bit thinner, same blue writing and picture and everything on a white box. Clearly it says Root-touch up in big letters on the front.
First of all it took me 15 minutes to decide which one to get! It's rather annoying actually, the Root touch up only comes in a few colours, colours which will 'blend' with a similar ...

...on home hair dye kits. Clairol Nice 'n Easy is my preference, although I have experimented with one or two others on the market.
My hair is long, past shoulder length, and takes quite a lot of colouring. I am also concerned with the beating it must give my hair - it usually looks nicely conditioned after colouring, but the ends do seem to dry out quickly. I therefore like to use a root touch-up in between colours, just to take the stress off the ... ...grey roots. Why Clairol root touch-up? I'm sure there are other makes on the market, but this is the one that I always come across, and as usually I use Clairol Nice 'n Easy (natural dark brown, 120) to colour my hair, it makes sense to use the same make. I use number 4, which matches dark brown shades; there are three other colourings to hopefully provide something for every hair colour. There is, conveniently, a table on the side of the box which ...

Advantages: Fairly easy to apply, covers roots well Disadvantages: Stains scalp, not enough of it, stains more than the average, slight burning feeling
I've been colouring my hair with Schwarzkopf permanant hair colour for a while now and due to being too ambitious with dyeing my hair purple from black without bleaching I ended up having purple roots where the black had been growing out. Obviously I needed to sort this out. :P Instead of buying another whole box of dye I decided to try this as it was only 99p in the shop I was in. Pretty standard contents, developing lotion, brush thing, gloves, ... ...The colourant is sort of gloopy and took quite a while to mix together, but that didn't really bother me. First thing I noticed was the amount of it. Not enough to colour all roots in my opinion. Took quite a while to apply mainly due to my awful bathroom lighting. Judging by the amount, I did the most noticable ones first and then put the remainder on the rest. After a bit my scalp starting burning a little bit which I hadn't experienced before, ...
