Even though I hate to admit it; I’m nearly completely gray. I’ve always highlighted or dyed my hair but I have always been blonde! By colour and by nature! Prices This dye costs £7.99 which is quite expensive but I like this kit and it does take half the time of other hair dyes. I hate sitting there with hair dye on in the home and the quicker it will take the better! In the box • Activation cream in a tube • The dye in a squeezy bottle with sealed nozzle • A comb to fit on the end of the squeezy bottle • A pair of latex gloves • A tube of after treatment conditioner • Instructions Applying ... more

Advantages Advantages Only takes 10 minutes to develop. Great results.

Disadvantages Disadvantages My preferred shade is not available.

I have been colouring my hair for a long time now and became quite a fan of Clairol's Herbal Essences hair colour as well as the shampoo range. However, Clairol decided to changes their Herbal Essences shampoo range (big mistake in my opinion) and the hair colour also vanished from the shelves to also be revamped. The particular shade I had previously been using was a very dark brown shade (darker than dark brown but lighter than black) which is no longer available and I have had to resort to using a dark brown shade, which is lighter than I prefer, but unfortunately if I coloured my hair ... more

Advantages Advantages takes only 10 minutes, long lasting beautiful permanent colour

Disadvantages Disadvantages finding the right shade, amonia smell, price

I always hated the adverts for the men’s hair dye (Just for Men) that take 10 minutes to work while I had to keep the stuff on for at least 30 to 45 minutes to make it work. I was delighted when I saw the adverts for the first women’s hair dye that would do its magic in as little as 10 minutes. I’ve been dying my hair for quite a number of years, not to hide grey hair but to lighten my natural dark blonde/light brown to a medium ash blonde shade (alright then, and cover up some minor irksome grey in the process). After trying a number of hair dye products and favouring Clairol’s Herbal ... more

The Product This is a kit containing all the items needed to permanently dye your hair colour. There are around 20 different shades available and my preferred one has been 5G Medium Golden Brown. There are lots of different shades in the collection so you should be able to find one to suit your hair colour or change it to a colour that you'd like to change it to. My hair is naturally brown in colour but for many years now it has mainly been blonde, starting off with a few highlights which over time have gradually built up resulting in there being more blonde in my hair than brown. I usually get my roots done at my local hair dresser but have on several occasions in the past brought a lightening kit to brush through to touch up any dark areas coming through usually with great success meaning I do not need to get my highlights done properly too many times which saves a lot of money. So recently before a night out and after weeks of saying I really need ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fast, covers well

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dye runs out quickly

I needed to dye my hair a few months back. However, as any other time of the year there is never enough time in the day! But I knew it needed to be done so headed off to Tesco to pick some up. I usually use Loreal Recital Preference however my eye fell on this. This was for a few reasons, firstly the model on the box had a lovely shade of hair, secondly the box looked very professional and thirdly it promised to only take 10 minutes. This third claim I didn't actually think would be correct but I decided to grab a box anyway to try it for myself. The dye costs £7.00 in Tesco which is an ... more

Advantages Advantages The hair comb makes it alot easier

Disadvantages Disadvantages The smell can be overpowering

Over the years I have used many different hair dyes, some good some bad. The things that use to annoy me were trying to apply the hair dye without covering the bathroom walls and having to wait over half hour just for the stuff to work. Then along comes a product which claims to have an easy to apply method and perfect hair colour in only 10 minutes, Clairol Perfect 10 hair dye. The marketing campaign was aimed at people who struggle to dye their own hair and don't like to wait around for the hair dye to work its magic. Which we all know is a nightmare waiting half an hour with the horrible ... more

Advantages Advantages The Conditioner was quite nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Uneven colour, strong smell

I had died my hair a few times before I used Perfect 10 and I thought it was perhaps time to get my hair back to its natural colour, or near enough anyway – thankfully there was a Perfect 10 shade similar to my natural colour (7.5A Medium Ash Blonde.) To be completely honest the main contributing factor to my ‘natural hair colour’ choice was the fact that Perfect 10 was on offer in Superdrug otherwise I would have just dyed my hair dark brown again with my usual L’Oreal Excell 10. APPLICATION: As I was using a new dye, I did the allergy test two days before and I was all set to go! The Perfect ... more

Advantages Advantages good colour, quick, easy, convenient

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

As far as I can remember my natural hair colour is a sort of mousy brown/dark blonde sort of colour. I can't say for sure as I haven't actually seen it since I was 14! Until I was about 20 I used to dye it blonde and then for the last 6 years I've been dyeing it dark brown. I have been thinking of going back to blonde for quite some time now, as I feel the dark brown against my pale skin is a stark contrast and makes me look washed out and ghostly. On the other hand, I'm scared of looking brassy or my hair going an orangey shade which has happened in the past. Because of my indecisiveness on ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages The colour came out wrong (twice!)

Like most of you, my first thought was: can you really get a professional looking home dye in just ten minutes? I was doubtful at first and now I wish I had stuck to my original instinct when I tried out 7.5A Medium Ash Blonde.I did all the necessary precautions (checked that the dye could actually be used on my current hair colour, allergy test, strand test etc) and everything said I was good to go. Applying the dye wasn’t difficult – I didn’t use the comb applicator however because I felt somewhat paranoid that with my luck I’d rip my hair out. The smell of the dye was a little overwhelming ... more
