...fake tan smell from the clarins gel. Its not very pleasent and am quite paranoid about my friends smelling it. I g out with my friend and she comments how tanned my legs looked, but this was indoors. As i stepped outside the bright sun shining on them made them look orange which wasnt very nice. Not very natural.
I decide ill let the fake tan to fade and not bother with it anymore. And oh dear it fades terribly, i have patches all over me despite ... ...natural. After 9 days my clarins tan has completely gone.
In general, its easy to use and less hassle. It feels nice on the skin and at first doesnt have such a horrible scent. The tan is not instant and i had it leave it on for over 8 hours to see any results which is a disappointment. Fades terribly so not worth the bother. And the colour is not suited for me. Self tans that claim to be golden are likely to be yellow based than brown. But really, ...

...(gosh that sounds pompous) is Clarins Self Tanning Gel. I bought this quite a while ago and I think at the time it cost £12 for 125ml, but I believe now that due to inflation it costs a few quid more. Anyway, it comes in a yellow tube with an easy-to-open flip-top lid. It's got a picture of a brown sun on it. Some of Clarins self tanning products come with added sun protection, but for some reason I have a primitive product that doesn’t.
I ... ...and I think it can if you have a certain skin tone, but it does work for me.
It has a lovely rich, luxurious smell, which my husband Michael (now signed up on Ciao as CheekyMonkey1974) described as liquorice. It is a get but it has a milky colour and when it is applied to the face it glides on beautifully. Its not oily or sticky and leaves your face feeling refreshed.

...tans. However I fell upon Clarins Gelee auto-bronzante express so I decided to use it up.
Firstly the packaging is of a bright yellowy orange tube 125ml with an amber sun on it. The colour reminds me of sunflowers! This is quite attractive and appealing to the eye. The tube has the name of the product on the front. On the back is, amongst German and French blarb the useless directions which I quote:-
'For the face and body;apply evenly to dry skin.Avoid ... ...wait before dressing. Does not provide sun protection'.
Well for a start, this product is not suitable to have clothes over it for at least a couple of hours because it is extremely greasy and oily.
Secondly the effect is so naf that you need to add another bronzer all over to even look tanned.

I am now a big fan of airbrushing, but I previously rated Clarins self-tanning gel as the best around for a flawless, golden tan.
The first thing I should say is that I never have streaks when I apply fake tan. I also do not strictly follow the instructions. For a start, I never exfoliate and moisturise before I apply it - not because I'm against it, but because I'm too lazy. I therefore do not believe ... ...I have always found Clarins tan to be very easy to apply. Many tanning lotions are oil-free and therefore are very dry when applied, but Clarins feels more like you are applying a body lotion. One thing I like about this tan is that it fades gradually after a few days. I think a big problem with fake tans is that after a week application the tan comes off in patches - This is not a problem with Clarins.

...protection, which I think the Clarins self tan milk does and for the money I think it should! It also is not tinted so I can't see where I've put it, but I find if I make sure I rub it in really well I usually have an even glow within about 6 hours.
I was surprised to find that this (and all other Clarins products) are plant based and ARE NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS! It is the first time I have ever used a Clarins product and for some reason I just did ... ...like to buy more from Clarins in the future but they are expensive, guess I’ll have to ask Santa nicely. I bought this product with a £15 voucher my friend gave me for Debenhams!
I’m going to keep searching for my perfect tan, but I have a feeling for some reason Clarins is as good as it’s going to get! ...

This is by far the best fake tanning product on the market. It is easy to apply, absorbs easily and does not have a potent smell that comes with many of the fake tan products. Well, it smells a bit but is definitely manageable with some perfume unlike others i could mention. I have had no problems with streaking of orangess, although i think that that is largely to do with the way you apply it rather than the actual product. Watch out for the brown ... ...you wash off and start again. The tan lasts for around a week and its deepness depends largely on your skin tone at the time of application and the number of applications you do The beuty of this product is that it also comes with various SPF factors to use in the sun, whcih adds a real kick to your skin tone after a few hours in the sun. ...

The Clarins gel comes in a mess free container with a flip top lid. The gel is clear and has a pleasant fragrance. It is very easy to apply and quite difficult to mess up, so especially recommended for tanning beginners!
I would recommend that you would use this on your arms/legs first to get an idea of how deep the colour will be, then try using it on the face.
One tip is to use some of the St Tropez latex gloves, they are ... ...from tell tale orange signs. The gloves also help to ensure even application and I believe that you get more out of the product as it is not absorbed into your hands as you apply.
Apply a thin layer over the desired body parts, be especially careful around armpits as if you have any trace of deodorant on the tan will not take and you will have white patches under your arms. You will be able to see where you have applied as the product will give ...

...like the rest of the Clarins Range. Quick dry gel is good for some body areas that do not need to be soaking in moisture rich cream all day long...it is great for mornign applications.
I received as a sample and I would buy the whole thing as a result of its colour and smell, and quick drying action. I will just know better how to apply it for the next time around. It is now one of my two favourites! ...

Clarins Selt Tanning Instant Gel - note the new packaging is bronze not yellow as the image shows above.
This is the BEST self tanner I've ever used. The gel drys almost instantly and is completely absorbed with no stickiness. The gel smells pleasant and doesnt have a strong after smell like lots of tanners - it doesn't stain sheets - i like to put it on before bed. It gave the most natural looking tan I have ever achieved from a self tan product ... ...would much rather use the Clarins product for a quick, easy and natural looking tan. As the tan fades away there is no blothiness - I have had it on for a week and still have a nice colour - it just seems to fade naturally and doesn't start getting patchy.
Finally with other self tanners I found that every time I had a bath there was a faint brown scum line in the bath afterwards. Again with the Clarins product there have been no marks left in the ...

...cheat. I went to a Clarins counter and asked them which was the best product to buy and they recommended this. It was quite pricey but I bought it anyway. I couldn't wait to try it out! Before using the product you have to exfoliate for best results. (I would recommend you do exfoliate as I didn't once and it ended up not producing much of a tan and I looked quite streaky!). The downfall is that it was quite expensive (around £14.50), but I suppose ... ...beauty brands then this was a bargain. The colour is good, and looks quite natural. I found that the body was harder to tan rather than the face, this is because the colour doesn't come out as much, so be careful and exfoliate fully when applying it to the body. The answer to my question 'Is it worth the price' is yes! This is a good buy and will leave you with a natural looking tan so you can foul your friends just like me!!! ...

To be honest with you, I only purchased this product because i felt i had indulge in a bit of retail therapy whilst returning from a recent trip abroad.
I chose this out of the many brightly coloured boxes looking at me, as i have previously bought another product out of this range and decided it was good enough for me to give another a go.
After buffing myself raw in the shower, i felt my skin was primed enough for the first application. The texture ... ...one first thought. I applied like a dream and i knew exactly where to put it as i could feel where the product was moisturising my skin, so there was no worry in missing patches.
One of the advantages of the tanning gel is that you dont ahve to wait around waiting for it to dry so its a must for those with little time on their hands. The end result was beautiful sunkissed skin which felt trully moisturised. Not an orange skreak in sight ...

Clarins costed me about £14. You can buy this from clarin counters, in debenhams, boots etc.
I use fake tan in general about twice a week, the container lasted me for a good few months.
Overall i would recommend this fake tan, i liked it. I didnt mind the price because the results are worth it. Clarins lasted on my skin better than johnsons tinted moisturiser and l'oreal sublime bronze.
