Rather than give you a definite brown tan, the milk seems to give you a healthy glow. It isn't until you compare bits you haven't applied the milk to that you see a slight change in colour. This means that while you are waiting for the tan to develop, you are still somewhat protected from the sun's rays. However, if you are fair skinned I suggest you use a higher factor.
