Advantages: Natural, healthy glow, no mess, lasts a week Disadvantages: need help applying to back, some might say not deep enough tan
...happened to pass by the Clarins counter and I noticed the sales assistant had a gorgeous glow about her, as well as a mountain of make up and lip gloss, but none the less, she certainly looked healthy and sun kissed. She asked if I was ok looking or if I needed some help and I mentioned that I was looking for a good quality product, having used other tanning products in the past and ending up looking like streaky bacon, I was a bit green when it ... ...wearing was none other than Clarins own self-tanning milk. I was quite impressed as her tan looked so natural and nothing like what I remember applying a few years ago. There were no signs of streaking, and the colour was not too in your face either. My fear of applying fake tan is that I may end up looking like Kat Slater a la Eastenders and that’s not a very flattering look, but the girl behind the counter certainly didn’t have that appearance, ...

...life. The girl at the Clarins counter, suggested that I might like to try this product. Seeing as I am always ready to try new things, I said to her “I will take one”
The box is mainly a bright orange/gold colour. At the top is the Clarins Paris logo. Followed by Lait Auto-Bronzant. Then you see a sun with SPF 6 in the middle. For those who speak English there is the description of Self Tanning Milk with Sun Protection clearly printed below. The ... ...let me recap.
Clarins Self-Tanning Milk with Sun Protection comes in 125ml for the price of £14.00. It is available from Clarins stockists, and good chemists. So seeing as I have now got the tube beside me, I might as well start NOW.
I will say that I have given it a good overall rating, as I do think that the intensity of the tan could be a little deeper. I have used a wash off make-up tan to my skin when going out, just to add that little bit ...

Advantages: gives a healthy glow Disadvantages: won't last long and not very dark
...selecting a fake tan. Clarins obviously agreed as they have now changed the packaging to a more appropriate milk-chocolate brown colour.
But anyway, that evening I exfoliated and moisturised my face (I read somewhere to skip the toning stage). The product comes out more like a cream consistency rather than milk, but I think that makes it easier to apply.
I squeezed out a decent blob of it into my palm before applying it in sections to my face and ... ...my own tube of the Clarins milk and now use it on my face and neck regularly. Because of the price (around £14 for 125ml) I do not use it all over my body. However now the summer is here I would rather have a deeper tan. And so I experimented...
I decided I wanted to try the product all over my body but didn't want to use the amount that it would take to do two applications. And so one evening I applied my usual body tanner (No 7 quick drying tinted ...

Advantages: Subtle natural looking tan. Disadvantages: Can't tell if you have applied cream everywhere.
...had heard good reports about Clarins Self-tanning milk so I gave it a whirl....... and was extemely pleased with the result.
Rather than give you a definite brown tan, the milk seems to give you a healthy glow. It isn't until you compare bits you haven't applied the milk to that you see a slight change in colour. Consequently the tan looks very natural and healthy. One application was perfect for the subtle natural effect that I wanted. However, ... ...re-apply the milk again. It is best to wait for two hours to see the result of the first application though and then decide if more applications are needed.
The milk costs £14.00 for a 125ml tube - I have used it three times on my upper half including face and there is still more than half a tube left.
The packaging is a nice bright yellow colour. The tube has a flip lid and comes in a box with instructions on how to use the milk.
The tanning ...

...orange in colour bearing the Clarins Paris logo at the top and a pretty golden sun in the centre telling you it has an SPF of 6. This means that while you are waiting for the tan to develop, you are still somewhat protected from the sun's rays. However, if you are fair skinned I suggest you use a higher factor. The lid flips up to reveal a thickish white lotion (rather than a milk). The only advice I can give you is be careful how you apply it - ... ...department store, some larger Superdrugs now sell it.
I can recommend this product, the tan isn't a dark brown but you can top it up every few days until you turn the colour you desire. If you're feeling particularly pale, give Clarins a try. You will like! ...

Advantages: gives great sun kissed glow but natural Disadvantages: none
I've used this self tan for years on my face in spring/summer instead of foundation. It just gives a natural healthy glow, and if you then add a tiny bit more on your cheeks, it acts as blusher also. Then instead of foundation going graesy on your skin in the sun, you just have a natural look. I reapply it about every week.
The tube has lasted several years, down to last squirt now.It may be a bit more expensive than some others but its worth it, ... ...it deteriorating.
It is subtle but effective and easy to use. I'm off to buy another.
I have tried others in the past, but none as good as this in my opinion. Highly recommended if you want a subtle glow. If you wanted a really dark tan, may be not for you. ...
