Advantages Advantages Quality shoes for children

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too expensive

As a child, my first real memory of shoe shopping was that of buying clarks shoes. My family lived in the country and the local town was fairly small and only had one shoe shop. The only shoes they seemed to sell for children were Clarks. I recall people of my generation, had one pair of shoes for school, one for casual, a pair of trainers and a fancy good pair of shoes for a Sunday. This seems to have changed over the years with so many shops making shoes at a very cheap price. Children now seem to have as many shoes as outfits. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, (I bought my first born son ... more

Advantages Advantages supportive shoes when fitted correctly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Need to rely on fitter

Doodles One thing I have always bought for my son is good quality shoes. I have always believed with Clarks that you pay for the fitting service as well as the shoes. I wore Clarks shoes as a child and it is a brand I have brought into now I am a parent. I looked at many shoes for the summer but decided on Clarks doodles as my son seems to fall over an awful lot I preferred his toe to be enclosed but also wanted his feet to keep cool. What is a doodle? Doodles are shoes specifically designed by Clarks that are targeted at the age group from between one and six years of age. They do designs a ... more

Advantages Advantages They stock shoes for big sizes

    Disadvantages Disadvantages They are expensive

One of my biggest problems in life is finding shoes that will fit me, that aren’t ugly, clumsy and unflattering. I have wide, size 8 feet with a very high instep. Shopping for decent looking footwear that is comfortable for me, can be a fruitless, frustrating search with nothing to show for it at the end of the day. Clarks is a company that until a few years ago, I did not associate with fashion and style. However at my wits end one day, I decided to take a look inside and see what was on offer. Since that day I have never looked back and I always take a look inside when it is time to ... more

Advantages Advantages Quality, service, good stores and name to rely on

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit expensive

I have a few things in my life that I insist on having the best for. After buying the best for my eyes (I wear specs) I ensure that I treat my feet on reasonably equal terms. Basic rules here are look after the bits that would make a difference to me if they buggered up! In my younger days I used to buy whatever came to hand (or foot) first and it either rubbed, dropped to bits within a couple of months or was just plain uncomfortable. Now I am a little older I tend to think about what I am buying. Why Clarks? The image isn't exactly the happenin' fashion statement you may think! That maybe ... more

Advantages Advantages Well trained, knowledgeable staff

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, poor shop layout

It is very silly but for some reason I couldn’t wait to buy my little boy his first pair of proper shoes. In my desire to do everything “right” I had avoided putting Alex in pram shoes and always made sure his socks and sleep suits were not too tight around his feet so hampering their normal development but by the time he was around 10 months he was cruising around the furniture at home and it was only a matter of days before he would be walking properly so off I went to my local Clarke’s. Why? Simply because my Mum had always made me wear Clarke’s shoes and they were the best, right? The ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive shops always too busy unfriendly senior staff

My daughter is only 7 years old and yet she already has size 4 feet. Being a strong believer in investing in good footwear I took her to Clarks to get her feet measured and buy some new school shoes. We went shopping mid-week in the hope that the shop might not be too busy but as usual it was bursting at the seams. Eventually it was our turn and my daughter stood on the special machine and had her feet measured. She has always had big feet so I was prepared for her to have grown a size since our last visit. She had certainly done that! The assistant then asked what kind of shoes we wanted. I ... more

I am sitting here in a state of shock at the moment, why you ask? Has my credit card bill come in? Have I won the lottery? Have I just discovered Brad Pitt on my doorstep? The answer is no to all these questions, unfortunately with the last two. The reason for my current shocked state is shoes! Little boy shoes to be exact. Whilst walking the dog the other day, James started to complain that his feet hurt and he wanted to take off his shoes. On getting home and removing his shoes I examined his feet, for those tell tale ‘red marks’ that come with too tight shoes. With none in sight ... more

Clarks Shoe Shop is a big High Street name with a Clarks Shoe Shop on almost every High Street in the UK. Clarks also have an online store which sells the same items stocked in the shops. The familiar Clarks sign is Clarks written in bold green coloured writing with an off white background. Nearly all of Clarks shoes come in a green coloured cardbox shoe box, the green is the same colour as the green in the Clarks sign. Clarks shoe boxes can be recycled. They are also good to use for the Samaratins Christmas Shoe Box Appeal - where you fill a shoe box with treats, hat, scarf and gloves to be ... more

My daughter is 10 months old and she is now crawling (very fast), and walking along the furniture (this is called Cruising!). I was told by friends that she needs shoes now she is standing up so where could I go but, Clarks. As a child I was always taken to Clarks for shoes, embarrassing at the time, but now my feet are healthy and well formed so Thanks Mum!! SOME INFORMATION ON BABY'S FEET YOU MAY NOT KNOW -A foot contains 26 bones, more than any other part of the body. -A babys' foot has no fully formed bones. -The foot is formed by soft cartilage, which solidifies as the child grows. -Ill ... more

Advantages Advantages reasonable in price, range of sizes and styles

    Disadvantages Disadvantages unhelpful staff

The reason I used the title will come apparent when I go on about the service I received. Both times I have shopped at Clarks shoes now and two different branches I have found the staff to be on another planet and the service is absolutely shocking. The reason I went to Clarks was because I tried every other shop and this was the only one I had not looked in. When I need a pair of shoes I always know what I am looking for so it is very easy to get if the store has it of course. I saw Clarks had a sale on at this time too and up to 50% off was up for grabs. What I didn’t want to do though was ... more
